The final edition of Kill-Town Death fest will be held the 5th – 7th of September in UNGDOMSHUSET at Dortheavej 61, in Copenhagens Northwest quarter.

The festival will be a 4-day event, with a warm up show Thursday September 4th at Loppen in Copenhagens freetown Christiania. The festival will present 28 international acts, metal DJs, cheap good quality beer, vegan foodstalls, horror-movie screenings, a distro area and outdoor hang-out space.

Kill-Town Death Fest is a celebration of the current underground Death Metal scene, the active bands and people involved. Our goal is to create a festival that puts focus on the music and the bands, not money and prestige. The festival is based on D.I.Y. ethics, meaning that the festival is non-commercial. Neither we the organizers, nor the bands playing, are making a profit . That is also why we don’t want to do headliners and all of the bands will get the same treatment. Our primary focus will be on the Scandinavian underground Death Metal scene, but we also try to bring in a few acts from other parts of Europe, as well as the international Death Metal scene.

I so want to fucking go, so many awesome bands... But looks like I won't be able to get the time off from work

Almost here! It will be my third KT in a row. Eight active DD bands on this roster plus seeing Cianide and DC again make this mandatory. Such a well run fest and a great time. I will definitely miss this fest after this year.

As my thread in Metal Discussion was (rightfully) locked, let's just repost here.

I'm really excited to go the KTDF for the first time, even if I'm aware of the existence of the fest since the first year - and was astonished by the first line-up: all the newer OSDM acts I had just discovered were there...

This year line-up is also extremely good: there are more than 15 bands that I know of / heard / like, and that I want to see on stage.

Anyway, I'm searching for a cheap accomodation not too far from the venue. Anything would do the deal: youth hostel, dirt-cheap shitty hotel or so.
If anyone from København has some good advice(s), that would be gladly appreciated!

I ended up narrowly escaping work to see the only KTDF I ever will.

Good times were had. Place was crowded as fuck, but with lots of cool people.

A lot of great bands played awesome sets. Anatomia ended up being the main highlight for me when they closed Main Stage on Sunday.

Our objective is to make a celebration that puts concentrate on the music and the groups, not cash and esteem. The celebration is focused around D.i.y. morals, implying that the celebration is non-business. Not, one or the other we the coordinators, nor the groups playing, are making a benefit . That is additionally why we would prefer not to do main events and the majority of the groups will get the same treatment. Our essential center will be on the Scandinavian underground Death Metal scene, yet we additionally attempt to accumulate a couple of acts from different parts of Europe, and the worldwide Death Metal scene.
