I messaged a couple people here, but yeah, anybody else from Rochester NY wanna do some kind of metal thing?

I've been playing guitar for 8 years but never played in a band or with people. I used to do (shitty) vocals in a grindcore band, but I'm not interested in that anymore. Basically I just want some people to jam with. A band, individuals, whatever, it's all good.

The styles I most like to play are: sludge/doom, grindcore, death/thrash metal (not so good at them), powerviolence, old school hardcore, and Alice in Chains kinda heavy metal.

Naturally, stick me with a drummer, sludge comes out. I have the most experience with grindcore/death metal but it's been a couple years since I've played them so I'm probably rusty as shiiiit.

I'll do whatever though. I just wanna play. It would be neato to play live.

I don't have any recordings to show off because I've been playing punk the past year, but if anyone's interested, shoot me a message and I'll throw something together. I'm ready to jump back in.

You know we've met before right? We talked about collaborating over the internet once but I never got my shit together enough to record. That was like two years ago this year. But yes, my ex boyfriend was really into Kylesa and he showed me Unpersons in like 2010. I don't listen to Unpersons anymore but I still jam Kylesa sometimes.

There's a couple of posts on craigslist right now with rochester bands looking for guitarists. Maybe worth a look if you haven't already.

Yeah, I messaged some people. Seems like a lot of Roc people aren't too interested in playing with somebody who is transgender. A couple were like "yo add me on Facebook", then I do and get no response until they ask over email some offensive thing like, "are you a boy or a girl? I can't tell." Like wow Kentucky sucked but they didn't care about anything like that as long as you could play. =/

Honestly, that sounds like a straight forward question to me.

Until I answer and they immediately stop talking. I just say "girl", but apparently that's not the right answer. You've seen my Facebook picture, I have no idea how the fuck they're telling that much from it.

Some people just don't want to work with females. It's probably better to lead with some material recorded.

If you saw a couple of the comments you would know why that's not the case here.

Also the bands I've responded to I shared material with that they liked. That punk track. It was fitting for a couple of them.
