Going to be at the St. Vitus show for sure on this one. November here in NJ / NY is turning out to be awesome. Liege Lord, Attacker, Fates Warning and now Church of Misery and Gates of Slumber... absolutely awesome.

You have the choice between a band which are a shell of their former selves and one at the top of their game. Easy choice!

Thinking of going to the Providence show, but I've never heard of AS220, is it any good? I'm having trouble finding the concert on their website.

It's decent, yeah. Right in the downtown area on Empire St. so pretty easy to get to. AS220 is a whole arts collective kind of place; they have art classes, studios, a restaurant, a gallery, pretty cool place all in all. Last show I went to there was in the gallery space.

Also, it seems like the best metal shows in Providence are booked by the Armageddon Shop so if you don't have them on Facebook you might want to https://www.facebook.com/pages/Armagedd ... 3350982547

Yeah man, if you live in the area you should DEFINITELY go to the Armageddon shop. Probably one of the best record stores for metal on the whole east coast. Certainly in New England.

It's not too far of a drive, I live on Cape Cod, so if I'm around the Boston area I'll check it out. I'm surprised I've never heard of them. I do most of my record shopping at Newbury Comics, and if I'm up north, Bull Moose, but the selection can be hit-or-miss and they're getting expensive.

I visited the Armageddon website and it seems they have a new store in Cambridge. Would you suggest going there as well?

I've never gone to the one in Cambridge, just the one in Providence so I'm not sure. If it's anything like the Providence one it's definitely worth it!
Newbury Comics and Bull Moose are good, but the Armageddon shop has a much larger selection.

If anyone has any updates regarding Gates of Slumber for this tour, that would be cool. Apparently their bassist just quit so the band is basically over, I think. I'm not sure if they're planning on doing this tour before calling it quits or if they're dropping off the bill.

Nope, sadly, it's not gonna happen :( I guess I'll skip this tour then.

That really sucks. CoM are cool and all but I was more excited about Gates of Slumber TBH, as I've already seen CoM live.

From Church of Misery's facebook on the 25th
Quote:
Dear All,

We are not yet ready for departure to the US, owing to the US government shutdown, visa procedure has been delayed here at the US embassy in Tokyo.
We will update our US tour as soon as it is confirmed.
Thank you.

Church of Misery

Not sure what's going on with the tour dates. Sucks, since I was planning on seeing them in Chicago this friday. Anyone hear anything more official yet?
