Ondskapt - A Graveyard Night

This sits musically and stylistically somewhere between Funeral Mist and Watain, which is no cause for complaint by me.

Pallid Hands by In Solitude may be the greatest metal track of the year. There is so much going on. The guitar riff is the epitome of catchiness and good taste (the overall tone of the guitars is a glorious gothic rock worship) Hell, as much as I love their previous albums, Sister is their masterpiece.

Wayne- Metal Church.

Never got around to it until now, and it's ok; the first 3 songs are the best. It's not great, but it's better than the stuff the real Metal Church put out around the same time.

Cradle of Filth - Darkness Incarnate

Even though the ending is a little too drawn out, I think this is my favorite song from "Godspeed..."

Necropolis- The Black Dahlia Murder

TBDM's albums keep incorporating a little more melodic black metal influences each album. It started around this album, though (Deflorate)

Torture Squad - Horror and Torture :headbang:

My favourite of "modern" thrash metal, tho they arent modern at this point, i consider Pandemonium to be a modern thrash masterpiece. The true successors of old school Sepultura. Awesome riffs and fairly technical and catchy songs.

Anti-Depressive Delivery - Chain Of Foods

Brilliant album cover. First listen. As far as I know (based off the one song I heard), they dropped a fair amount of the metal sound they had on the first album.

Edit: Definitely some 70s-style metal riffing at times, but more prog rock than the debut.

Right now I'm listening to Sepultura - Chaos A.D due to Autothrall's super positive review. I'm actually kind of digging this. Which is a first time for Sepultura material.

A.G.E. - Runaway Machines

Japanese metalpunk with 10+ minute songs and a fuckload of black metal influence. Some of the best music I've heard in a while.

Sounds interesting. I noticed you posted about New Bomb Turks earlier...cool band, one of the most fun live shows I've ever been to actually.

Prong: "Eternal Heat"
Well here we go: One of those bands which I sometimes kind of surprise myself by liking so much. here they are playing fast music again and it's pretty killer, with Tommy Victor being the star of the match as usual with his precise, choppy guitarwork and instantly recognisable snarls (love that take-no-prisoners New York accent)...of course some of the choruses aren't too great and repeat too often, but I'm happy they're still around. Also, this album has brief bursts of shreddy soloing, which are surprising, tasteful and gets a smile of approval from me.

I think you would get a kick out of them man you should totally give them a shot. They're from '99, unique year for a unique sound.

Iron Maiden - Killers

I haven't listened to Iron Maiden in so long!!!

Alhambra "Siegfried"

Vocals are a bit more reigned-in than "Fadista", bar the opener (where they're as shrill as ever, thankfully).

Ah, yeah, this is pretty cool. It's too bad they disappeared off the face of, uh, Mars once this was released.

Vader - Welcome to the Morbid Reich

This holds up really well and one of their better modern albums. Nothing will be quite as good as Litany for me, but this is well worth anyone's time.

Depeche Mode - The Bottom Line

Not my favourite Depeche Mode album (Ultra), but it's still good to great in places.
