So I'm looking for powerviolence and/or grindcore bands that infuse noise elements in to their music. Like harsh noise and power electronics, not just noisy grind.

Stuff like The Endless Blockade (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14sfYBTjvrs), ‎]Column of Heaven (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4R3INa__h7w), and ‎Water Torture (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFjXVGFvb6U)?

Septic Surge. Only have a split with Extortion and appear on This Comp Kills Fascists 2

Iron Lung's latest album was split in 3 versions. 1 was just straight PV. 1 was straight noise. and the last was both versions merged. Not harsh noise, for the most part, but has some odd soundscapes mixed in and is a cool idea. The noise ebbs and flows, sometimes very noticeable; other times simply a compliment.

I think you'd do well to poke around Survialist's (guys from CoH/EB label) bandcamp as well as Iron Lung Records bandcamp. Both labels/mems have an admiration for noise and sometimes it blends with grind/pv.

Haha, this is why you are rude when people ask for things, cause you don't know a shit about the genre goregrind, it isn't goregrind, it is gorenoise with amphibian-related lyrics/cover-arts.
I bet you never heard phyllomedusa, stupid

I've heard of Phyllomedusa and I would never, EVER consider them to be called frognoise. You're a fucking moron. Gorenoise is a thing but just cause one band does something doesn't mean you have to invent a new term for it and expect other bands to be doing similar things.

Okay, that what you think (MORON!)
You can look on last fm, or on phyllomedusas blog, amphibianworship, and they call it frognoise.
It is the same thing as Viking metal, pirate metal and pornogrind, THE LYRICS!

1. Let's stop the name calling.
2. Just because a band gives themselves their own name it doesn't make it a valid genre.
3. There are multiple bands who fall under the Viking Metal as well as Pornogrind and Pirate metal. Those "genres" have also been around for awhile. While they are highly specific and more of a grouping of bands rather than a real genre, it's valid as they've withstood the test of time.
4. Learn to be a human and take other people's opinion with a grain of salt, ESPECIALLY when you come into a public forum asking about it.
5. Don't give stupid bands the satisfaction of using their dumbass terms and titles. I even hesitate to use the term mincecore.
6. Last.fm is moderated by fans, possibley a few as ill-informed and annoying as you.

I already love Iron Lung, I'm from Reno, seen em quite a few times, but otherwise Septic Surge was indeed sick, and I've found some great stuff on the IL bandcamp.

1. Do you guys have any recommendations for melodic grindcore? I listen to very little grind, so I'll take whatever you can supply!

2. I'm also looking for thrash-influenced grind as well. Something that might have a thrash break or thrash drumming patterns sprinkled throughout.

3. Also, what's the consensus on cybergrind? Any interesting bands to check out?

For thrash-influenced grind the usual recommendation is P.L.F.

I'd also recommend Death Toll 80k

Hayaino Daisuki will supplement your first two requests.

As for cybergrind, well I suggest everyone listen to Gigantic Brain, they play experimental cybergrind with spacey ambient stuff going on.

And Wadge. Surf/grind :)

1. Yeah, Fuck the Facts might do it or Gridlink (lots of riffs, some of them catchy-maybe it'd fit more with your second request). Cloud Rat too.

Gridlink

Cloud Rat
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVBoZw04LZs

2. PLF's latest has more riffs than the last 8 Kreator albums. esp 1min in you should be shitting yourself with enjoyment.

Nashgul

Suffering Mind

Mother Brain

3. Body Hammer's got a new album coming out which I'm excited for. Love the vibe of the band, but the first album didn't really do it for me. This track's great though.

Why is not goregrind/gorenoise request welcome here? As fast as you talk about it, people gets angry.

Has anyone noticed the large amount of black and white album covers being made lately? I can't be the only one who notices these things and as much as I like black and white images its getting so repetitive now that I feel its a cop out.

grinder12345.... cause it's largely considered garbage and disposable waste of time. But really it's cause you people coming in asking for it are just asking for a list of bands ingeneral. Like 'hey guys I heard of 3 goregrind bands does anyone know anymore?' that kinda of stuff gets annoying when you could go through this thread and read it and find a ton of recommendations that way. More people should give that a try first.

Wizard... it's honestly no different from how many were made in the years past. b&w automatically makes everything seem more classy, bleak, disgusting, interesting. But yea I dont' see a single increase in it from any years of the past.

Dude... plenty of folks in here like goregrind and recommendations for goregrind bands have been offered multiple times throughout the thread, even only a couple pages back. What's not welcome is people just popping in an asking for lists which has been pretty clearly explained to you a couple times.

Grinchfinger's split with Compulsion to Kill just came out which is a banger! Highly recommend picking it up from Acid Redux!

Only good part about Book Burner was Kat Katz, couldn't warrant a purchase though

I saw them at MDF and they sounded sloppy, not even in a "energy over precision" way, just sounded off. Kat Katz was the best part of that set as well

I agree, her and Johnson were the only parts of that heap of shit that stood out to me.

Caught them "open" (it was decibel induction 'Horrifeid' but i guess they had to get to bed early, so they actually were the first band on) for Repulsion/Brutal Truth in 2010(2009?) and they were great. Far cry from where they are now (skipped them at MDF- although their shirt done by the guy from Extortion was AWESOME).

Oh yeah, I forgot Johnson was on it too.

I thought I saw him a bunch of times walking around at MDF but then he didn't do a guest spot with Pig Destroyer so I figured it wasn't him. Then he came out with Magrudergrind on sunday haha

For those that had questions about the quality of the service provided by Selfmadegod I can now dispel them. They're fucking great! Made an order for a friend of mine, which was shipped last Friday, and I already have the CDs here. Great service.

Yes, i know! I did made an order for some weeks ago, and they send it in four days to sweden! I just wish they had some more gorenoise, or if it was another, nice distro that had much gorenoise.

lots of new CoH stuff. Very excited. Split with Radioactive Vomit should be cool (I highly support grind bands embracing black/death bands).

Need to backtrack a couple of posts to hear some new stuff ya'll be talking about.

Ooh, that'll be a cool split. I really enjoyed what I heard from Radioactive Vomit, and was wondering when they'd be putting out more stuff. Column of Heaven is cool I guess, I'm not super into them but they're not bad at all.

Meh, I don't mind the programmed drums much, but I might like it even more if they were a bit more organic sounding.

Ya know, I'm usually pretty against drum machines but they actually don't bother me here. Goregrind is pretty much the only acceptable genre for programmed drums though...

New Nachos streaming: www.decibelmagazine.com/featured/stream ... hos-still/

Heavy. Hasn't been Relapse'd thankfully (and unsurprisingly), though if you preferred old WN to the newer stuff this probably won't change your mind. You're not punk is definitely a live song, hope they play it when I see em next week.

New Weekend Nachos is awesome. I will always love that band. I feel this new stuff is more in tune with their older sound then the one they've been doing recently.

Also my grindcore band have finally released our EP! Check out the link below and listen to it/download it if you want.

added to the worst names compendium

edit: I wanted to say Liberteer...but looking back they're not symphonic, just bad. I've got nothing helpful here.

Actually enjoyed this one. Found everything since unforgivable has been a downgrade, but this one's fun. And yeah, theyre a blast live like them just for that.

Agreed on the Controlled by Fear stuff being cool, lotsa early ND influence which is always a plus! Dig how noisy and balls to the wall it is, suffers from the vocals being too loud and off-time in spots... and the drums not staying in time (extra beat here, little pause there) but those are a couple of my personal pet-peeves so that may not bother others as much, or even be a plus, and I like that you guys are playing fast as fuck regardless. Really like the little dbeat break part that pops up @ 1:17 in The Horror, adds nice little dynamic in there!! Keep it up dude!

Ya know, I used to say that only WN's first couple records were any good... now I don't really like any of it. Checked out the new album and wasn't into it and wanted to go back and see what I liked about Punish and Destroy that they weren't doing anymore and ended up turning it off after a few songs. I think my tolerance for modern hardcore stylings in grindcore/powerviolence just keeps getting lower.

Y'know, I'm starting to feel the same way. My tastes have shifted a little bit over the past few years, I either want an onslaught of riffage or something that is way over-the-top in some way, shape, or form. Lots of the normal hardcore tropes outside of classic material bore me quickly nowadays.

I'd like to know if there are any symphonic grindcore bands, like in the line of Fist in Fetus?

added to the worst names compendium

edit: I wanted to say Liberteer...but looking back they're not symphonic, just bad. I've got nothing helpful here.

Yeah you're right. Liberteer isn't symphonic... But hey, I like the anthem-like passages.
Also worst names compendium? Goregrind has a lot of worse ones heh? Like Paracoccidioidomicosisproctitissarcomucosis, for instance.
