You could do worse than Killing Peace, like The Art Of Dying, for example. Not terrible but looking at the two, it's clear to see which one is pulling more in the thrash direction.

I never listened to The Art of Dying but I have heard Killing Season. Judging by Deathroned and Sonic Beatdown, the two singles it is a horrible album that actually makes me think of some nu metal, groove metal hybrid. Here is Dethroned.

Sure Killing Peace wasn't terrible, it was just boring. I was pissed for having my hopes up after they had Shock and Awe playing on their webpage and being promised not to be like other thrash comeback albums by not having any modern influences.

Here is Shock and Awe. Simple but very good and energetic thrash song with a Slayer groove going on.

Well also, that was during a time when the thrash metal scene wasn't as rejuvenated with old acts coming back. Tempo Of The Damned is still pretty great, though!

Actually, it has nothing in common with Slayer. In Search of Sanity is a total Metallica, Heathen and Xentrix worship (which is really surprising, considering the other band's albums).

Tempo of the Damned is good. I love Sousa on that one.

Favorite Exodus album personally. Souza was venomous on that album.

Hey fellas,

After some good, fast Crossover Thrash with plenty of decent mosh/breakdown riffs.. I don't really have much in the way of examples to base it on but I'm sure you guys know what I'm after! ;)

Municipal Waste, Suicidal Tendencies.

Those two are big on the moshing.

I'm looking for thrash songs that are faster than this one:

Awaiting a flurry of links from those who like ultra-fast thrash.

I'm not going to post links. YouTube is your part of fulfilling your own request.

* = most pertinent, or I feel is closest to your request.

*1. FastKill - Kill For Pleasure, Evil Force, Annihilation Betrayer.
*2. Necroriser - Suicide.
*3. Terrordome - This Aggression, Wish You Were Killed, Broken Government.
4. Attomica - Deathraiser.
*5. Viking - Hellbound, Militia Of Death.
*6. Vio-Lence - Serial Killer.
*7. Violator - Destined To Die, Brainwash Possession.
8. Accuser - Apocalyptic Decay.
9. Aggression/Aggression A.D. - Green Goblin, Forsaken Survival.
*10. Deathraiser - Violent Aggression.
*11. Devastation - Manic Depressive.
*12. Eliminator - Breaking The Wheel, Prescription For Extinction.
13. Exarsis - Mind Poisoning, Under Destruction.

I think the drums on EXHORDER's "Slaughter in the Vatican" were faster than pretty much any thrash band at that time.

One of the most cringe-worthy bands I have ever been unfortunate enough to see play... and by "see play" I mean stand outside the venue after one song and do my best to ignore the fact that I could still hear them from outside. Bro dudes in bandanas and workout shorts playing some sort of mash-up of styles and not doing any of them well.

 I had never heard of them till I saw a tshirt of theirs on a merch website and so I quickly checked their MA page which listed them as "thrash metal". Hence the question.

And yeah, you're right...I checked a song on youtube and I closed it midway. Quite terrible!

Rumble Militia, Suicidal Tendencies, D.R.I., Wehrmacht, Cryptic Slaughter, and Leeway.

For modern stuff check out Municipal Waste and Cross Examination. I love Cross Examination in particular for how fast and crazy it is.

Add Carnivore to the list of legendary bands too. With regards to more modern bands, I didn't mind Dr. Living Dead (from Sweden) when I heard them.

All I'll say on this is that if you haven't heard "Waste Em All" and their split with Bad Acid Trip then you are missing out on their best material.

Also, for new crossover...

Ramming Speed

Insufferable Ingrate

Coffin Dust - these dudes crossover with death metal as opposed to hardcore but they rule it!

I'm not sure I'm giving you quite what you asked for because I don't really like Toxic Holocaust, but I assume you're basically asking for blackened thrash. These bands don't really sound like TH but IMO are a million times better.

You might have more luck looking for punk/black metal hybrids. Toxic Holocaust is certainly thrash, but they fall way more on the punk side than the thrash side, if that makes sense. Darkthrone might be your best bet. But, if you're looking for blackened thrash, you should check out Sauron, Aura Noir and Skeletonwitch. For some reason, that's all I can think about in terms of blackened thrash.

Not the biggest fan of TH, though their/his earlier output is still rad and An Overdose of Death holds a special place in my heart due to Donny Paycheck from Zeke drumming on that album. Here's some bands that I think do something similar a helluva lot better.

Infernal Stronghold (these dudes got more and more blackened with each release but some of their earlier works should be right up your alley and they RIP!)
http://infernalstronghold.bandcamp.com/album/pests

Thy Darkened Shade
http://thydarkenedshade.bandcamp.com/releases

Nekromantheon (their latest album that I linked below has a pretty strong blackened influence while remaining wholeheartedly thrash. I actually like their album from 2010 better which is almost straight up Demolition Hammer worship)

I NEED some gut wrenching, face exploding, neck craning melodic death thrash metal but I can't find anymore with the website's limited search function. I want bands like Darkane, Destinity, Dew-Scented, Dimension Zero, HateSphere, The Haunted (One Kill Wonder), Impious, The Resistance, and Noctem. Other bands I like but aren't as close to what I want are Bursthead, Dead Shape Figure, Eradication, Hatchet, Nembience, Sylosis, The Crown, Vader (these are all either too melodic or too deathy).

Revocation maybe but you probably already know them. They are melodic death/thrash but don't meet your other requirements. Not that far off Sylosis.

Maybe modern Kreator or Blood Tsunami's first album.

Blood Tsunami.

I know and love Revocation, though they're not the exact type of thrash I'm looking for here. I also know Kreator.

That Blood Tsunami song is awesome but it falls too far like the second group of bands I listen into the 'melodic' side. Still a good band and I plan on checking them out but what I specifically want is more gutsy stuff.

Maybe some God Dethroned would suit your tastes? You may have heard of them but in case you haven't, they're a legendary death/thrash band with some good strong melodies.

Your request is confusing.

Are you looking for deathrash (thrash metal mixed with death metal), or melodic death metal? Dew Scented is full-on what you're looking for if you want deathrash (as you already mentioned them). Similar acts are Deathchain, Beyond Mortality, Diabolical, Infernaeon, Izegrim, Noisem, Nuclear Salvation and Psychotic Pulse.

If you want melodic death metal, which Darkane and The Haunted fall into, take a gander at Bloody Pride, Deviant Syndrome, Lost Vital Spark, Mercenary, Monolith and Solution .45.

Pretty cool, I'll definitely look into them!

I don't think it's that confusing. To be more specific, I essentially want death thrash that has some melody in it and isn't all just tremolo picking and chromatic scale stuff. Dew-Scented is death thrash but they've still got some unmistakable melody in some of their music. Darkane and The Haunted (One Kill Wonder), while on the more melodic side, still have undeniable thrash in them, and are in my opinion thrashy enough to be considered thrash.

You suggested quite a few bands so I'll pick at them one by one, but off the bat I know Deathchain (death-ier than I want), Infernaeon (blacker than I want), Deviant Syndrome, Mercenary, and Solution .45 (all melodic death metal, no thrash).

I guess it's just confusing to me, because the way I understand and categorize music is specific. To me, deathrash is deathrash. It is either that, or it isn't. Then there's melodic death metal, which I don't really listen to enough new or old stuff to say a lot on that... and then there's death metal or black metal mixed with thrash, or with thrash influences... and then there's the various thrash metal microgenres.

The way that I see your request is you're looking for melodic death metal that's thrashy.

Since a new Toxic Holocaust record is on the horizon, I decided to give another pass to their last two. From memory, I remember, haha, that's the joke... not really remembering a whole lot about either of them beside not striking a chord. I remember An Overdose Of Death... being a bit boring and unmemorable, and Conjure And Command being the thickest sounding Toxic Holocaust record to date, but not much else.

a. An Overdose Of Death...

My feint memory was mostly correct. This album is very unremarkable and lacks the intensity I've come to expect from a Toxic Holocaust record. The production mostly sounds good, but the drum production really kills a lot of intensity. There's a lot more "rocking" songs on here and they just aren't very exciting and don't add a whole lot to the album.

b. Conjure And Command

First impression - the production on this record is fucking stellar. That fat-as-fuck guitar tone and those thick, bricking drums add a certain amount of swelling to the recording. This is definitely the thickest-sounding Toxic Holocaust record to date, and one that was surprisingly needed. This album seems to expand the fewer number of songs into bigger, doomier, thrashier numbers that pack a huge wallop. The slower parts of the record add a certain claustrophobic, doom-sounding tone to the record, partly because of the production as well, and the drums getting some great breathing room and the faster, punkier portions are full-on Toxic Holocaust with some standard thrash riffing thrown in for good measure. Joel's vocals are about a step removed from what he normally does, and he still sounds good, and it's definitely nice to hear a higher, or slightly less distorted-sounding range and tone, so to speak. Awesome record all around, and it might actually be my new favorite Toxic Holocaust record.
