I'm looking for minimalist bands that mainly focus on one or two riff song structures. The songs can be plain stupid repetitive or have added layers to the main riff. Genre doesn't matter because I'm into everything.

Bands such as old Ministry, Swans, Sunn O))), Horseback, Electric Wizard, Nadja are a few off the top of my head that I enjoy. Any others I should know about? Thanks in advance.

Teeth of the Lions Rule the Divine and Buried At Sea both have a small amount of riffs per song.

newer Von is like one riff a song and it's not very good.

request feels like it could go in the very different ways. simplistic black metal, or punk, or drone like many of the bands you referenced.

Harsh/raw black metal

Bone Awl one of the best examples of doing a lot with so little. They've been copied a lot, so if you like this you should be able to find other things.

Probably the entire album of 40 Watt Sun is based on one riff

The title track on Metridium Field by Giant Squid is one riff for 21 minutes straight. Really great song.

Every song on Lymphatic Phlegm's Pathogenesis Infest Phlegmsepsia sounds like the guitarist went 'Wrote a new riff? Wrote a new song!'

Root - Pisen Pro Satana. One of the first black metal songs I heard - nargaroth did a cover of it which is arguably better.

A little Devin Townsend-ish and clearly some gothic metal influence.
