Greetings :) ,

Earlier I used to listen to black metal music only while studying but recently black metal is turning out to be my favorite genre, so looking for some haunting black metal music.
The most perfect example i can give is "Det Som En Gang Var" by Burzum

The length of the music is no issue for me, Any recommendation along this line would be highly appreciated.
Cheers

Marblebog from Hungary comes to mind in comparison with the song you posted a bit slower though.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIVWDpwnIjI

Impavida from Germany fits the bill, very haunting and disturbing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eur36zO1N0I

Sortsind from Denmark. More of the insane type but pretty dark and foreboding.

Marblebog and Impavida were really nice....thanks for recommending :)
Sortsind, well as you said, is a tad bit insane for my choice :P

One thing I forgot to mention earlier was that I am really into this under-produced sound of black metal albums. I don't know why but a good production album sounds like Blackened Death Metal / Death Metal to me. Anyone else feels this or is it just me ?

Lunar Aurora's album "Zyklus" is the first to come to mind. By far their best work, in my opinion, with some very icy and haunting atmospheres (especially the chilling bit around 3:10):

There's also the more obvious but no less relevant band Darkspace, whose music is also very eerie:

And although a completely different vein, and a little off-the-cuff, check out Deathspell Omega's, "Fas - Ite, Maledicti, In Ignem Aeternum" for some absolutely chilling, malignant music:

@Syntek : Thanks for Lunar Aurora, i am currently lisntening to their album Zyklus on grooveshark and it is pretty awesome. Deathspell Omega as usual is mindblowing, i cant choose between Fas - Ite, Maledicti, In Ignem Aeternum or Paracletus.

@Amber Gray : Nahvalr was creepy and i mean really really creepy especially after the vocal intro, it really sends a chill down the spine.

I found this while wandering in youtube and its pretty chilling :

Elysian Blaze's Levitating the Carnal is a great one. The material before this album could work too, but the grand piano here just completes the scene.

have a ttry with "Firmament" by Midnight Odyssey. Don't know if one could label it as haunting but I think it will
fit to the other recs given here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7g0wH8c5Qc

and also Draugsang (who unf. only released an EP) should def. by right up your alley, not also "just" in terms
of music but also production-wise. Unfortunately there's only one track on youtube, a rehearsal track not feat.
on the EP but maybe here are some tracks to be found: https://myspace.com/draugsang

Well, if you like the style on this song, check out the rest of Levitating the Carnal. A lot of people also really like Blood Geometry, but while Levitating the Carnal is more claustrophobic and cavernous Blood Geometry is a lot more vast and expansive and in a strange way somewhat beautiful in a dark sense thanks to that grand piano again. Still good for what you're looking for.

I strongly recommend the album "Reue" by Kaltetod.

Try Krohms A World Through Dead Eyes. Cold, grim and evil like moribund records promises.

French band Misery

Sous l'égide des martyrs
