Spectre General "Hunger" from the animated Transformers movie soundtrack. That chorus takes me back to being 10: skateboarding (badly), playing tennis-racket guitar and thinking about girls.

The CD version of their album has a lot of filler on it, yeah, that song is pretty glammy. I guess they just wanted to put every song they recorded on one CD, which is what was often done for a lot of NWOBHM era bands.

Actually even the song "Duma" has a bit of glam in some parts, except it's awesome.

Well, don't you think this might count for more singers when it comes to high voice singers? Midnight and John Arch for instance are/were high wailers. Their strength didn't lie exactly around that area either though I do agree Jim Gillette sounds rather laugable from what I've heard.

And I'll check that Winter Rose stuff. With luck it might be better than Dream Theater. :p

70s glam is the best glam.

Bang a gong, get it on.

Well Winter Rose sounds like a fine band from what I've heard. Not to mention LaBrie sounds way more in his element here than on his Dream Theater stuff.

The main riff and chorus of Uncle Tom's Cabin by Warrant are catchy as fuck. And that riff is pretty metal to boot.

If we are talking about catchy riffs and choruses, you guys are totally missing out if you haven't heard:

Winger - Seventeen

Warrant - Cherry Pie

Tigertailz - Living Without You (The video is embarrassingly cheesy, but still a good song)

King Kobra - Hunger

Decadence Dance by Extreme. More glam than some of their other stuff, just as catchy.

gonna throw one out there i haven't seen mentioned yet: skid row's "18 and life". catchy as buggery, and bach was imo easily the best vocalist of the whole hair metal thing, at least on their first album (which was the only real hair metal thing they did).

it's actually a bit of a shame that hair metal was such a joke and died such a hard death in the early 90s, cause the genre offered genuinely fantastic songwriting. "round & round" is as brilliant as a few have already pointed out, and much as everyone hates warrant, jani lane was one of the most accomplished songsmiths of the era. someone already mentioned "uncle tom's cabin", and i have to second it - the whole cherry pie album is a masterclass in songwriting, not that many people these days would give it that much of a chance.

gonna also post these two - i am a massive fan of ballads when they're done right, or just have that bit of an edge to them. so here they are:

motley crue - you're all i need: kinda lost at the end of the girls, girls, girls album, but it's basically the best song on it. nikki sixx at his drug-addled best.

this next one is an acoustic live clip of jon bon jovi and richie sambora at some awards show playing a mini-medley of livin' on a prayer and wanted dead or alive. it's just fuggin' brilliant. and richie sambora... fuck, he completely steals the show. he's such a good guitarist, and his vocal's blow bon jovi's out of the water. but in the end, together their vocals just mesh perfectly. AMAZING clip and i think if you don't watch this through, you're mad ;)

Was revisiting all of this kind of stuff that I really enjoy lately. Still rules.

In fact, just finished cranking "Uncle Tom's Cabin" and dancing around my living room.

I prefer Youth Gone Wild, but both are great, great songs.

I finally get to plug Magnum! They were more prog rock in the late '70s and through '83 or so, but on Vigilante their style got more streamlined, catchy, and brought us this gem:

I'll second anything from the first two Ratt albums and Alice Cooper's Poison. I will also toss in Quiet Riot's Metal Health, as I have often seen them referred to as hard-rock or glam.
