Yeah, it's awesome. The added blast beats and extreme metal elements are awesome. Plus, the production doesn't sound like it was recorded through a cheese grater.

Katatonia - The Northern Silence

Early song by one of my favorite bands. I don't subscribe to the absurd MA idea that the only good thing Katatonia did was 'Dance of December Souls'. I love all eras of this band.

Abyssal - When Paradigms Supplant Gods

Odd title.
I like parts of this album a lot. What I don't like are the breakdowns. Breakdowns are stupid.

Yeah, it's a pretty kick ass album. It's far too long though. Especially considering how unrelenting and hyper it is.

Abraham - Start With a Heartbeat

Dark and agressive atmospheric sludge. Ever wondered what a deranged and enraged version of Cult of Luna sounds like? This is it.

Oh yeah, definitely, though that's my only problem LOS. Even if overlong, there aren't really any bad songs to be found in it.

Horrendous - The Womb, off The Chills

Going back to death metal in full force here.

If these guys didn't have Tom Araya's brother I think they'd have nothing to their name, but they're still not bad.

My Dying Bride - My Hope, the Destroyer

Probably one of my favorites off of The Dreadful Hours. Great atmosphere and vocal lines.

Romannis Motte - Kozmische

As the album title might suggest, this is very old-school sounding kosmische musik.

The Ruins of Beverast - Mount Sinai Moloch

I'm starting to delve into the lyrics here and I like the album even more for it. This album views humanity and its follies like ants ready for stepping on. Magnificently nihilistic.

Teitanblood - Seven Chalices

This album is really thick and dripping with evil from start to finish. The echo on the vocals throughout the album sounds like it would be a hindrance, but it's quite the opposite, as they mesh well with the ferocious and heavy-as-shit death metal on display. Phenomenal album.

I haven't heard the two follow-up EP's yet - should probably get onto that!

Nice choice there Mikey, and as for the two ep's well you can get 'em both on one cd. The Woven Black Arteries ep is fucking stellar, and full of even more malice and twisted sickness. Delightful.

The Ruins Of Beverast - Malefica

Over and over and over... an absolute masterpiece of pacing and solemn, powerful atmosphere.

Amorphis "Magic and mayhem - Tales from the early years"
King Diamond "Abigail"

amazing works of revisited past tracks (Amorphis) and an already classic (Abigail) that don't want to leave my cd-player anymore

I have to concur. OSDM worship done right.

Dismember - Life - Another Shape of Sorrow, off Massive Killing Capacity

It was a great decision to end the album with this tune. I especially love the mournful, melodic intro, which could just as easily kick start a Candlemass song.

Eternal Throne by Battle Dagorath

The last album I need to check out from this band. So far, it seems that Ancient Wrath is the weak link because this album that came before it sounds sounds better than it as does the album that came after: Cursed Storm of Ages.
