It's been a while since I've posted much in this thread, but I went to the record store today and picked up:

NAILS - Abandon All Life
Kind of a polemic band, doing the whole Entombedcore/grind thing. But you know what? Fuck it, I like this band and this album is their sickest yet. Hate-filled hardcore works for me, even if it's not precisely "metal."

Gas Rag - Human Rights 7"
A friend of mine told me to check this band out--turns out there's some kind of hype behind this group, but it's warranted: fucking awesome d-beat punk played raw and angry. A bit on the short side, but well worth it.

I have read the book myself, it is quite the read. Very dense and difficult read, but very powerful as well. And Leech's music is all top-notch. If you want another band inspired by Perlman you should check out Skagos.
