Thanks!! The cottage in the first picture is very creepy, but yet awesome place. I stumbled upon it accidentally a few years ago while exploring forests around my home town. These photos are taken from that same cottage also. There were very interesting items in the cottage althought the place is a complete mess since the roof has collapsed partly. I wish I knew the history of this building, as it looks like it was left in a hurry (all the furniture was left there).

Just a bit trivia, we climbed all the 250m of the rock on the right, using these stairs:

Pics don't do it justice, but for a non-alpinist like me, being 200m high while holding just some wonky iron bars is pretty intense

edit:fuck I meant to quote this post not edit it...

We call them "ipês", yellow ipê in this case. Wikipedia says the name in english is Caribbean Trumpet Tree but it's actually native to South America https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabebuia_aurea

That first pic looks so fun! Had a similar experience recently.. storm surf in a protected area, 60knot offshores.. like surfing in a blizzard really. Did you go out and get a wave or not?

No i don't surf anymore, might get back into it one of these days.
My brother in Margret river said it has been onshore for so long over there it's getting depressing, apart from last Sunday or something when it turned offshore and was pumping hard.
It has been pumping over this coast a lot lately and another 5 meter swell is predicted for Monday...here is a few more pics from around the place this week

yeah man, just constant NW's all winter- very rare for it to be so consistent and that's a deadly wind over here, the entire west coast is unsurfable with it. The south coast of WA, however, has been offshore the entire winter ;) No crowds down there, proper raw country, heaps of super hollow slabs and some of the dreamiest beachies around.. living the dream, although I've only given it a good shake maybe 5 or so times this year.

Image

And ok, this one from a few years ago.. not me on the wave, me in the channel taking this photo. The one and only CYCLOPS. It's impossible to comprehend how crazy this wave is. Hoping to go down there and actually get tubed in it this year or next.

Way crazier in real life man. So barely functional, when it's head high and the swell direction's right it can actually be a really nice, box-with-a-nuts-takeoff slab, but when it's a bit bigger, or the swell direction isn't right it's so fucken deadly. Breaks so close to the island in front of it, and occasionally it all just becomes a super dry closeout for no real reason. Overall though certainly the most beautiful/ugly/deadly thing I've ever seen though and I'm really keen on going back and viewing it from the inside :)

These are pictures from the second day at Stella Natura, before my phone died. It was could as fuck.

I only got a couple but I'm sure you can find more on the event page on Facebook. Next year I'll be bringing a more durable camera and get lots of shots.

I really like that last one. You shoulda knocked that grass out of the foreground, and it would've been perfect!

Your both right about the grass, I thought it would look good, but didn't get the depth of field right.

That second one is beautiful, those slime colored green trees look awesome.

I also took some nice tree/plant photo's yesterday myself, and on the way home i ran in to the shop to get a drink and when i came back my camera was gone.
Pissed me off big time, but if i can get insurance i can at least look at getting a slightly more advanced camera. That camera was $300NZ and was 18 mega pixel with 24 optical zoom, but had no manual focus on the lens.
If anyone could recommend me a more advanced camera for 4-500 (just add 50 to a hundred bux for most places) it would be greatly appreciated.

edit: turns out it just fell out of my car and someone handed it in, thank fuck! though i would have liked a better camera...anyway

I'm really digging those log photos. There's something really intriguing about cut firewood like that that's clearly been abandoned to nature for so long. The depth of field in that newer one is fantastic.

Metantoine, that bog looks like a pretty cool place.

mindshadow, I like inky caps a lot, yours might be Coprinopsis picacea. Another source.
It would probably be a good idea to rule out C. stanglianus though which you may need spore information or at least someone more knowledgeable to do so.

I'm not a professional photographer in any way, but I do like to take pictures in my spare time. Here are some of them I took the last few weeks:

At my university

University, again

Clouds
Image

The outside of a local performance centre (Love the colors in this one)
Image

And lastly, a very bizarre cloud during one afternoon. Wish I had more time to take a picture, but I was driving and when I got home, the cloud dispersed
