Just got Holy Blood's The Wanderer in the mail today. Normally I'd be happy about it but thanks to Amazon I have a mangled ass jewel case and a loose CD. :fuck: I'm really sick of their shit coming in broken almost all the time nowadays.

Sorry to hear about that, but fucking nice purchase dude! I'm a sucker for black/folk metal and that's definitely their heaviest offering. I wasn't a huge fan of Shining Sun, though.

Yeah Shining Sun was kinda weak imo too but I really like Holy Blood and I've been after The Wanderer for a while now. I have the rest of their stuff but some of it is digital only so now I just have to get their middle two CDs, fortunately they aren't really pricey.

Also just checked the mail and got these as well today:
Sanctifica - Spirit of Purity (really happy to have a physical copy of this now and for only $21 on ebay)
Alcest - Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde (fuck I already own this must've clicked the wrong button not my day for dealing with Amazon)
Deafheaven - Roads to Judah

I have all 4 of their CDs... as digital copies. :oh shit: This was when I was lazy, cheap, and didn't feel like waiting for albums to come in, so I'd just get an iTunes card and buy them. I might end up buying the physical CDs just because I want to have them in my hands, and since they're inexpensive like you said.

Shining Sun just had too much female vocals for my liking, and was pretty much devoid of any black metal, which made the other 3 albums awesome. It's a decent folk metal record, but a poor Holy Blood record.

Only death a physical copy is real! :hail:

re Death Angel - The Ultra Violence I'm sure I saw one for a hundred bucks recently!
After looking around a bit what you paid is about right, a mate of mine saw one here for $50 NZD a few months ago too

Got from vacation in New Orleans the other day and came away with all this goodness:

Image

That Transilience tape is one of the rarest albums I've come across. It's quite creative jazzy prog thrash in the vein of Voivod from what I've heard, and a cool pick-up. The Number of the Beast tape there is a single. favorite find here was probably Consuming Impulse, which I've longed to possess on cassette for quite a while, though finding some of my favorites from Crimson Glory, Vicious Rumors, Savatage, and Shok Paris was sweet as well.

Image

Esoteric - The Pernicious Enigma, The Maniacal Vale, Subconscious Dissolution into the Continuum

Image

Centurian - Of Purest Fire (first press MCD, quite rare I think)
Centurian - LiberZarZax
Mutilation - Mutialtion (JL America/Turbo USA pressing, another obscurity)
Gorguts - Obscura (YES!)

Image

Benediction - Subconscious Terror (first press)
Red Harvest - Cold Dark Matter
Disincarnate - Dreams of the Carrion Kind
Angelcorpse - The Inexorable

Image
Image

Henrik Fevre - Seasons of a Soul, Other Souls, On the Brink of Something Better (the bassist/vocalist of my favorite band Anubis Gate. He was kind enough to sing them to me :) )

If you're into the 'black' metal stuff you should check out that Sanctifica CD i just got it's fucking wicked, though their second release kinda blows. Ok it really blows but hey at least we've got Spirit of Purity :headbang:

That's why I'm in the process of little by little hunting down physical copies of stuff I was either too lazy or cheap to buy before. I just don't like having only digital copies.

Just got my very first Bolt Thrower album today!
While I'm not a huge fan of their particular genre I was blown away by the last two Asphyx albums (and the DVD as well.) So then I went into (a) Hail Of Bullets and was impressed as well. At that point a van Drunen fan, and Dave Ingram as well (love his radio show), it was natural to seek out some BT.
Using the reviews here as a guide and finding a 94% review album on the 'net for cheap I had to give it a go.
Only half way through it as I type and I can say it's pretty fair. Not a fan of the vocal style but the music's pretty heavy and that's what counts for me , but there's nothing that blows my doors off, yet. Of course I'll give it a few more spins to see what happens.
Not very impressed with the production values at this point.

The Witherscape-debut album. Edge Of Sanity meets Katatonia and some Opeth and some don'tknowwhat. Pretty good. Dan Swanö rules! :metal:

I couldn't believe it either. It was the kind of day that a collector dreams of. (Also the price I paid for it all was criminally low. Let's just say i could sell Obscura and regain all expended). :hyper:

Mourning Beloveth - The Sullen Sulcus CD
Popped this into the CD player on the way home and holy shit, this is a good death/doom album! "Sad bastard music," as Jack Black's character, Barry, would say.

ISIS - The Red Sea
Local record store had the ltd red clear LP in stock, so I figured I should swipe it while it was still there.

New stuff: Septic Flesh, Necros Christos, Urfaust, Disembowelment and Manilla Road. A bit of everything (genre wise).

Top line came from SoM, and again they canceled part of the order, refunded the missing items but seem to have forgotten that the postage should have gone down as well.

Bone Awl is awesome, pretty unique and raw stuff. That looks like a fine split.

I actually considered getting those Antediluvian and Akercocke albums, but passed for some reason or another. I should have shelled out the $3 for each, in retrospect.
