We're currently finishing up the writing for the next full length CD, and I really want to bring out the heaviness and craziness in the production. This forum has helped me immensely in the creation of the EP I just posted, so I'd love to hear your opinions on it.

Thanks, guys.

Not a big fan of the production, I enjoy dirty gritty sounds but the balance could be better and the snare sounds a tad to sharp. I like distorted bass too, but this one is a lil over the top to me. Liking the riffs :)

Thanks for the listen. Would you mind expounding a bit? When you say balance, are you suggesting it's too raw and gritty for your taste, and you would've enjoyed a slicker, cleaner sound?

I agree with you on the bass. I find it listenable, but if we had it to do over again, I would've taken more time in shaping the tone.

Balance meaning how loud everything is in relation to each other, and how separated each instrument is, instead of fighting each other for frequency space.

Bass drum sounds too low-end, can't really hear it as much as feel it.

Pretty fun material though, I definitely enjoyed the listen.

Thanks. On the material we're completing, there is actually quite a bit more sub bass, synthetic percussion/industrial-techno sounds. The material from this EP features one low-end sub bass kick drum in addition to the standard kick drum voice, unfortunately this material has no sidechaining so the kicker gets drowned out by the sub bass droning at times. I've been working on improving that though, so hopefully the snap on the kicker will shine through. It's kinda tough mixing it all right now. At times, I've got patterns with 4 different kinds of bass drums playing complementary rhythms. I just need to work more on mixing but I feel I'm getting closer to the sound I want with every song...Anyway, thanks again. Glad you liked it!

okay I'm on my laptop so that will probably suck some bass out for me. Cause I didn't really hear the sub-bass on the kick.

I actually thought the drums were very trebly. I'm assuming it's a drum machine? I like the tone of the guitars I actually wish they were up more in the mix. esp with how much the drums cut through. I can't hear the distorted bass so I'll def listen to this all again from your bandcamp when i get home to my desktop. I also thought the vocals were way too high. like they needed to be kicked back a couple of notches so it didn't overpower all the music. they were good, just too loud. overall it's pretty good and I like what you are doing thus far.

Thanks. Glad the youtube link worked. I've never really posted much here, and I dunno how the embedding works.
