I'm definitely excited for this! I saw these guys on the conqueror's of the world tour but as great as their show was, they only had the 3rd slot and didn't get a long enough set. Definitely one of my favorite bands.

Though I saw them in Regina last time, I'm only there for school and I'm off for the summer so I'll be seeing them in Edmonton this time around.

Here's the flyer:

They've still got more dates to announce, and I hope one of them is a Philadelphia date.

Thanks Grave_Wyrm, i have updated the OP with this filled in information. I am kinda computer-retarded, so didn't think to look there!

And Dave-o-Rama, it's not looking good for Philadelphia, sorry... hopefully it will be extended. Plus thanks for the poster. I tried pasting it in, no dice.

I'm going to try and make it to the Joliet show, why the fuck they're going down there is beyond me but oh well. Also who the hell is the first American band on the poster?

Lightning Swords of Death. Uneventful black metal from what I remember when I saw them last, but they had a kickass bassist who made their performance... memorable.

Ok cool thanks Ozzy. I'll check 'em out but so far all I care about it Melechesh and Vreid.

Only playing the frozen north on this tour, for the most part? That's a bummer. Melechesh are brilliant live and I'd love to see them again.

They probably do, since it was reissued a few years back.

If you would have asked earlier I could have found out for you. I want to say yes, they did have it, but I really can't say for certain. They did play a song off of it and it was reissued at some point like someone said so that would likely suggest they'd have it.

For anyone still going to see this show, here's the setlists.

Spoiler: show
Lightning Swords of Death
The Extra Dimensional Wound
Acidgate
Invoke the Desolate One
R'Lyeh Wuurm
Nihilistic Stench
Baphometic Chaosium

Vreid
The Ramble
The Reap
Arche
Disciplined
Sights of Old
Vaepna Lengsel
Raped by Light
Pitch Black

Melechesh
The Arrival Ritual (Intro)
Illumination: The Face of Shamash
Sacred Geometry
Ladders to Sumeria
Defeating the Giants
Genies, Sorcerers and Mesopotamian Nights
Grand Gathas of Baal Sin
Deluge of Delusional Dreams
Triangular Tattvic Fire
Ghouls of Nineveh
Rebirth of the Nemesis
Caravans to Ur

Why don't they play anything from As Jerusalem burns?

I dunno, but I think Ashmedi doesn't feel proud of it or something. First off, he's the only remaining member that was on that album. Also, I heard somewhere that he stated the lyrics for the album were not released and never will be. I'm sure that's related.

I really wish they would play more stuff off off Djinn. I've seen them twice, once as a headliner and once as 3rd slot, and literally the only thing they played off Djinn was half of a song.

Hold up, this statement seemed odd to me. I checked the band page and only JUST found out that Moloch left the band last year. That's gonna dent them bad.

Yeah, I was really confused about his departure too. I saw them last November with Septicflesh and their archive page still said Moloch was with them. However, when I saw them, the other guitarist was some really skinny dude wearing a veil thing. And sure enough, when he pulled it off after the first song, it was some blonde white boy with a smile that ran ear to ear. I though maybe Moloch was just gone temporarily but I never saw word of him. And sure enough, when I saw them again a couple weeks ago, he wasn't there. Although I knew he wouldn't have been since there was some sort of announcement that a guitarist from some other well known death metal band or something would be filling in.

So yeah, Ashmedi is essentially Melechesh's last tie to its past and its middle eastern roots.

I was at the show, but they only had Epigenesis at the table, alas. Still, it was really awesome, great sound too, which is rare at the Foufs :D, great performance, even better than when they opened for Rotting Christ a while back. My heck was sore for several days.

I believe Moloch now lives in Virginia and is studying for his PhD in Philosophy. I remember reading that in an interview from a couple years ago. I can imagine that doing so would complicate going on tour for extended periods.

Yeah it really was a great show. Even though they played in my city, I was an hour away that weekend at a friend's cabin. I drove an hour to town and an hour back at 1am for the show and it was still waaay worth it. I was also really happy with Vreid. I didn't know of them when the show was announced but I listened to them enough that by the time the show came around, I was knew the songs and was headbanging along right at the front.

Huh, I never would have guessed that. It's always weird seeing metal musicians in advanced studies, though I guess it shouldn't be since I'm in engineering and will be releasing some of my own stuff soon. No recordings yet though so no plugs. Melechesh is probably my biggest influence though.

Hah. In all honesty I probably would have some tech death project going on but I don't think I'm good enough at guitar yet to play proper tech death. Plus I wouldn't want this project to be tech anyways. It would take away from the traditional feel of it.
