As a term and genre, thrashcore is actually older than deathgrind by about half a decade - it also refers to a pretty specific style (arguably too specific, given how limited it is).

tell me where you got that info and a band of it's style from that era it described. Cause I call bullshit. I've been hearing deathgrind since the early 90s

Its the kind of proto-grind, proto-PV (mostly) out of the US in the early/mid 80s. Bands like Siege and Septic Death. Name's been floating around since about then, courtesy of the crossover with skaters and the general use of thrash as a punk term.

The term itself is kinda redundant - it more or less meshes with fastcore as another term for basically the same thing, and we all know what the extreme punk scene is like for drawing nitpick distinctions in genre - but it is old.

Well as Forrest Gump said, i don't know too much about anything, but the grindcore or goregrind that i do listen and have in my computer is obviously the first two Napalm Death albums and their last EP with the FETO lineup, well, everything before that EP is pure gold. I've been listening a lot of Insect Warfare, Hatred Surge which has a lot of death metal and powerviolence influence, Audio Kollaps, Blood Duster's "Cunt" could count as deathgrind, Brutal Truth's "Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses", first two Carcass albums, "Reek Of Putrefaction" and "Symphonies of Sickness", the latter being in much more death than goregrind territory, Haemorrhage's "Grume" which is excellent, old school goregrind, Macabre's "Grim Reality" EP, "Gloom", "Sinister Slaughter" and "Dahmer" which are all a mix of really fast thrash, grind and death metal, everything Mortician ever made before "Re-Animated Dead Flesh", Nuclear Death Terror is a really good band that's like, really death influenced crust, which could almost count as "grind", Regurgitate's "Effortless Regurgitation...The Torture Sessions", obviously Repulsion's "Horrified", A split with S.O.B. and Napalm Death that came around 1988 or 1989 that's awesome, Terrorizer's "World Downfall", The Berzerker's "Dissimulate" which is industrial deathgrind and finally The County Medical Examiners "Forensic Fugues and Medicolegal Medleys" and "Olidous Operettas" which are the best Carcass clones you will find, even if you're not into clone bands like Warhammer or Nordic Mist, you'll love these guys... oh, i almost forgot Electro Hippies, Jeff Walker's really old band, played really heavy crust, blast beats all over, i recommend "The Only Good Punk... Is A Dead One".
Anyways, just my two cents on grind.

I was always under the impression that thrashcore and fastcore were the same thing, as Z_N said.

i posted on the last page before you guys started bukkaing each other over genres. Looking for stuff like The Endless Blockade. Pv with atmosphere and attention to album structure. Of course I know Column of Heaven, but if there's anyhting else I'd love to know about it; espeically how EB mixed in harsh noise yelled/spoken parts, male/female vox, and a nice mixture of groove/punk/grind.

Awesome name. I like it, although wish the guitars were a bit more describable. Vocals are awesome though.

Cheers, i agree my guitars could have been clearer! on our next release il be working on that! my original idea was to work towards something like LDoH that's why its so noisy. But I think our next release will be closer to straight up grind! oh Bunker Buster is a sick name! you can thank Shaolin's brilliance for that one

Thanks for checking it out Flesh! And yea I agree with you totally about the guitars, you blame that bastard above me for that.

And thanks for the praise on the vocals, I wasn 't sure if they would really be that great. I figured it would be one of those things where I hate them but they are probably better than I think they are, I'm glad that's the case.

can't really think of anything off hand like what you were looking for that I know you have already heard of based on reading what you have spoken about.

Yea 100% real, for some reason with the highhats he when he is blasting he keeps them closed with his foot since almost everything he does is single foot stuff.

I didn't realize they didn't sound real.

Not trying to be a dick, but they're flat sounding, hence why I thought they were a machine (although the accuracy of a machine isn't present).

and yea that one is mine as well, that one I performed all the music and my wife did vocals. I did my best to keep it raw as hell to sound like something from the early 90's

really dig it. chaotic, raw, and gnarly vocals that really owns up to the name. I guess I should be Pm'ing all this, sorry for the disruption boys and girls. back to grinding.

bandcamp's on my dick and e-mailing me about shit. apparently there's a new ACxDC split out. filler/slow opener but some good stuff regardless

http://acxdc.bandcamp.com/album/split-7 ... -the-point

Also new installments of the Monomaniac series which looks super cool. If anyone skipped on the first, for shame! Really good taster for a global selection of fast bands, all trying to play around a minute long songs.

To change a bit the subject, I'm searching for something like this:

Give it a listen first (you can have some idea of what it sounds overall listen from say 5' to 15'). It's really a great mix of everything (you can find some almost-rapping, some goregrind, some improvisation, some everything), but it has an overall sounding texture.

I know this is too specific, so don't need to go all over the place to search for it, just rec me something if you already knows it. Thanks!

The only thing that I can recommend is The Locust but they have a more specific sound. Still an awesome band.
