Fleurety - Fragmenter Av En Fortid. Quite forgotten/unpopular album, very unique in my opinion.

Cobalt - Gin

Intense. The riffs on this album are great, they vary a lot and don't just endlessly tremolo pick.

Classic Autopsy for me.
Some dumbass on here gave it a score of 20

Sounds like he is the kind of person that doesn't even like that style of music yet reviewed anyway to shit on it.

"Mwandishi" -
Herbie Hancock

Empyrean Isles is still my favourite Hancock album, but this one so far is pretty good too. If any Jazz artist captured an urban vibe well, it's certainly him.

Esoteric - Cipher

Great "cold" atmosphere in this song

Definitely. There really is a feeling of utter despair present in that song.

Hidden Orchestra - Vorka

Great atmospheric instrumental band. I don't even know what to call this genre. The tag says Nu-Jazz / Acid Jazz / Trip-Hop / Experimental / Downtempo. I guess I should start exploring these kind of genres more, because I'm in love with this.

Exactly what I thought while I was reading it. Some people do have way too much time on their hands.

NP : The Chasm - Procession To The Infraworld

The Chasm are a band I feel can put out a very good Black or Doom Metal album if they want to. The way they mesh these styles with Death Metal is quite incredible.

Mortuary Drape - Abbot, off Secret Sudaria

The way this manages to combine first wave black metal with more traditional elements is nothing short of amazing.

Septic Flesh - Pale Beauty Of The Past

MPOD is an extremely weird album, but strangely engrossing.

The Chasm is an extremely underrated DM band. Their songs are massive and crushing, but somehow they still play pretty technically at the same time.

NP: Jah Shaka - The Commandments of Dub

A delightful mixture of dub and reggae. And it's a 10-album series so I've still got nine more to listen to! :D

Queued:

Dominus - Desencadenando Las Negras Profecías De Los Ancestros EP

Chilean band, pre-Dominus Xul. Incredibly heavy Incantation-esque awesome death metal.

Incantation - Diabolical Conquest

And the masters themselves. Don't think they've yet matched their debut but DC is awfully close.

First Degree Murder - Fuck EP

Great title, IIRC the music is fair-to-middling crust.

Yea the Chasm is quite amazing in their writing. it's very unique.

P.o.o.r.: Extinction of Trust

some more new grind that sounds more traditional. it's very nice.

Decrepitaph - Possessed By Blasphemy

The intro always makes me chuckle. Decrepitaph deserves respect. They don't do anything new or original, but they do it exceptionally well.

That album truly rocks. My friend said that the keyboards in Beneath the Universe pts I & II were unnecessary, but I think they complement rest of the music perfectly. The synth in Existence that kicks in with the vocals is pretty evil sounding!

Funny, I just finished Beneathe the Universe pts I & II and I fucking loved the keyboards. But hey, I'm a keyboard player haha, ofcourse I'm gonna love it. This album is literally probably my favorite black metal album of all time, or atleast in my top 5.

Eh, he's the kinda guy who winces at the sign of keyboards in metal haha. The album is definitely a list-topper though. Hellhammer rips it up!

Yeah, alot of guys are like that. But I'm a key instrument fanatic (keyboards, pianos, organs, synths with keys). So I'm always down for any metal that includes keys to a wonderful effect. Just finished the album btw and holy fuck what a ride that was. Seriously, I have a new found utmost respect for Snorre Ruch now. That was genius, simply genius.

That's the spirit! It sure is a ride though. I would be excited as shit if there were a new Thorns album. Has Snorre said anything about new material at all? I haven't kept up on that.

I haven't really either but I have heard some people say that he's supposed to be working on an album, but that as much as I know. I really fucking hope so. Because this is amazing. Really, to be honest, I don't know how he could top it, he set a very high mark for himself with this album.

Aldebaran - "Buried Beneath Aeons"

Utterly devastating. I love that really spacey funeral/death doom sound you get from a lot of those west coast bands like Asunder, Anhedonist, and these guys.

Avantasia - Where Clock Hands Freeze

This really is the only good tune from the new album. Everything else is either terrible or boring. Sammet done goofed on this one.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Saturnus - Wind Torn

The intro/outro is easily the highlight of this song, and that's saying something considering this is already an outstanding, atmospheric song.

Kaamos-Gnosticon

Wow I am a fucking idiot for just labeling these guys a generic Swedish dm band. Lots of tempo changes and great riffs.

Ash Borer - Cold of Ages

I love this band's brand of Black Metal! Despite the length of the songs, it never gets boring because they know when to slow it down, speed it up or introduce a new riff

Iron Maiden - Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son

Haven't listened to this album in ages and am quite surprised how good it is, even for a Maiden album.

Nice! Definitely a solid album.

NP: Cold Cave - Cherish the Light Years

This is some great, happy electronic music. And it features Ash Pool's/Hospital Prod.'s very own Dominick Fernow!

----------

Queued: Skin Chamber - Wound

Origin- Entity

All of the Origin albums to me have this space type atmosphere to them, even the lyrics give off that feeling as well with some Sci-Fi thrown in. Entity is a pretty solid album, short and to the point.

Varathron - Cassiopeia's Ode. Seriously, if metal could have existed in the ancient Greece, it would sound like this. No other Greek band has been closer to this in terms of atmophere.

Next: Arghoslent - In Coffles They Were Led. No current death metal band write riffs so memorable, so badass as these guys. The asskickery is just massive.

Alcest - Le Secret

Listened to Voyages de l'Ame before that, and I think Anathema before that. Some of my favorite stuff for when I want to relax..but right now I think it's making me too relaxed, I keep spacing out while trying to do work :/ Think I need to line up some power metal next to keep me on track for the rest of the day..

The Darkness - Living Each Day Blind (Album: Hot Cakes)

Six years after they split up, they came back strong as ever. This is such a great, fun, and classic Darkness album. The ridiculous guitar leads, the hilariously brilliant lyrics, and finally, those soaring, always fucking fantastic vocals.

Yeah bro, favourite EW song. The part where he goes ''The wizard turned and spoke to us and...this is what he said'' followed by the most sweet toned clean blues solo ever gets me every time. I always imagine the entire band just staring in awe, tripping balls, as a wizard just stands on a mountain or something and plays that shit.
