^ Not exactly, according to the blacklist. "Progressive metalcore".

Hi! Russian band Intruder, Inc. had been rejected. But this band is well-known here especially because of their gigs tohether with Hieronymus Bosch in 2008. As for the provement of existance of their album, you may find it uploaded here and even download it:
http://metalarea.org/forum/index.php?sh ... try1500350

Please note that lately (after this demo Intruder changed the label to Intruder, Inc).

Thank you!

Alright, Do you know what album that was based off of? Their EP Ms. Mary Mallon or their debut LORE ? Also how come they were blacklisted for being "Progressive metalcore" when tons of Progressive metalcore bands are on the metal-archives

When was it rejected? Another user submitted it in April when the release wasn't out yet, that's the only case of this band's rejection that I could find in deletion history.

I have added on: 2013-05-05 13:40:11. I don't remember, when it was rejected in the concrete. Can I add it again?

Sorry, no idea about what the decision is based on. Have they released new material lately? Is the style different from earlier works?

Also, pretty obviously because their "Progressive metalcore" hasn't been seen as metal enough, ie., too -core. There's a line, and they have been on the other side at least previously. Probably still are (not heard them, but because bands rarely make significant enough changes to their music).

Presumably it's more hardcore than metal, the blacklist note is quite old so I'm not sure what was evaluated. I checked it out and updated the blacklist note accordingly. It's metallic post-hardcore, a bit of metallic edge but predominantly not metal at all.

Is there an official outlet through which it was released? A download available through a band page or a proper webshop?

If you returned it to your drafts, I don't think it shows up when we search the rejection history. Not positive regarding that though.

Is this the album (EP) that you're submitting it based on? http://vk.com/audios-4442265?album_id=37882949
Seems acceptable, though a bit keyboard heavy at times. The album before that seems less metal with a quick check.

That album belongs to the band Князь Тьмы, which is already here, Svartstorm has just released one EP (there are physical copies besides the download). Malediktum, you can submit it.

As for Intruder, digital demo is not enough for inclusion. mimoladoff, you have to wait for the full-length release or prove that the demo was released physically.

It was self-released as I know. The download is available through the portal of exchange of metal-releases (btw, it's still legal in Russia for this time). They don't sell it - it's free.

Hi, Zodijackyl, you have rejected my submission of the band Strain for genre reasons. I'd like to give you two more links to the band's music. These are links links with rest of the songs on the album. You'll find more metal riffs than anything else in those:

Have you read my post above? Digital demo is not enough for band's inclusion in the database. Read the rules on what qualifies as a valid release.

These sound okay to me, I've removed it from the blacklist. It shouldn't have been blacklisted based on one song alone anyway.

submitted a band, rejected due to lack of physical proof

here is the band page i attempted to add:
http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Sicarii/3540365918#

and assuming this is good enough, here is the disc
Image

does this need to be resubmitted from scratch or can it just be accepted from here on?

Azmodes restored the band for you, but I'd like to point out that resubmitting from scratch is never needed. When a band is rejected, you can see it in your My bands page, and you can return it to a draft without losing any of the details, edit and submit again.

The band Minblod was rejected.

You can listen to their last release here on the mediafire-link:

I have the physical release here, but actually the link should be the same music as my copy.
Let me know

anyone checked this already?

Can you please inform me as to why 'Fragments' from Ireland have had their submission rejected?

Surely, after taking influences from bands such as Death, Cynic, Atheist, Meshuggah and Gojira (ALL bands listed on here), and being identified as 'Technical Metal', they would qualify as sufficiently 'metal' enough?

There was even a link to their band store through which you could buy a physical copy of their first release - http://www.fragmentsband.bigcartel.com.

You can also buy a physical copy of their CD via http://www.savouryourscenerecords.co.uk (a wide-ranging distro site).

Thanks.

Well, the rejection message says "not a metal band". The blacklist is more specific, comparing it to Psyopus. Apparently, too -core.

I think that one member has guitar influences from Psyopus. Other than that, all of their influences are pretty much Death, Atheist, Cynic and Meshuggah. Is that a final 'no' then?

Deathcore is a hybrid genre between death metal and hardcore. The degree of influence of either genre varies from band to band. Some deathcore bands like All Shall Perish are quite obviously on the metallic side of the fence, whereas bands like Suicide Silence are definitely more -core than metal.

If the band was blacklisted for being deathcore, it's obvious the metallic influences weren't pivotal in the band's music.

And that's also the same excuse for having (among others) The 3rd and the Mortal in the archives?

The band is more metal than harcore.

... nope. See, if you'd read our rules properly (they're pretty cool, should check 'em out... very informative), you'd know a band needs at least ONE predominantly metallic release to be accepted.

Why the band "Noisem" is in the Blacklist ? They play a mix of Thrash and Death Metal, and they appear on the site on their older name (Necropsy). Here's a link to listen their full length (alson available on the A389 store or Amazon).

Oryx made their album available to be purchased and downloaded on Friday and it will be physically available on June 20. I might have reacted and submitted to quickly at noticing that it was available to download, but I seriously thought the moderators wouldn't get to it this soon since I have some other bands in the queue that have been there since last month haha:) I'll wait.

Doom-ish/sludgily metallic, in that "stenchcore" kind of way, there's certainly some influence, but I'd say it's indeed more based in crusty hardcore than in metal. I wouldn't really say there's that much grind, but otherwise I agree with the moderator who originally blacklisted it. Pretty decent, though.

Back again for Oryx, I asked the guitarist, vocalist Tommy if the release was a demo, EP or full length. He told that it is a self-released full length. It's 30:02 in total and it's professionally recorded and is going to be released physically on cassette on June 20th but was released by the band digitally on June 14. I was under the impression that professionally recorded full length albums at least 30 minutes long are acceptable. Can I resubmit or wait until the 20th?
Thanks!

Apparently, taking from loose info (last.fm), there are Two bands named Foreign Objects, one that is a Female led- pop punk band and one that was done by members of CKY before CKY was formed. Both are from the states.

Female punk band: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Wy_oXgK9Rw

Pre-CKY band: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r34Vs6M0ZVs

I'm guessing he is talking about the Pre-CKY one

Yes, the Pre-CKY one. Experimental Metal.

So I guess it is okay for me to add them since it's not the pop punk band?
