I love other forms of music, specifically electronic, such as drum and bass, older dubstep, dark psytrance, some hardstyle, some gabber, and some fidget house. I also really like early 90's rock. Actually, to be fair, I enjoyed a lot different types of music in the 90's. Everything felt really fresh.

I'm a sushi fiend. Hummus and pita are essentials for daily life, as well.

I love horror movies. Michael Myers is my all time favorite horror antagonist. I can't stress that enough.

And If I had to share a "guilty pleasure" if you want to call it that, it would be Tabatha Coffey. Don't ask me why, I don't have a clue, but I think that woman is a badass.

I was also into 90's Kane growing up.

Well, I love horror movies. Hammer Horror, 50's atom-age sci-fi horror, 70's exploitation, Italian Lucio Fulci/Dario Argento/Joe D'Amato/etc stuff, 80's effects-centric horror movies, whatever. I've game for most anything, though preferably if it's old-school.

My girlfriend is a pain in the ass, but I love her all the same. <3

Other music I dig: southern rock (Skynyrd, CCR, Allman Bros, etc), 80's pop I kinda have a soft spot for, and most classical music.

I can't cook for shit but I love doing it; I need to start writing down my mom's recipes; she's a killer cook.

Some Jazz-Fusion, Punk/Hardcore, most classic rock and quite a bit of prog when it comes to music listening.
As for hobbies, I like playing guitar (though I should REALLY start practicing more since I'm not exactly proficient :P), and am starting to pick up drums. I'm also a nerd and play Warhammer 40K, Yugioh, and read in my free time.

A lot of rock music, but I'm not going to post everything I like, because that would take too long and I'm a lazy bastard.
I also like tasting new foods, as long as they don't have ingredients I don't like as the main ingredient, I really don't care if it looks like shit though, tastyness (is this a word?) is all that matters.

I'm also fascinated by the different languages and when I finish my studies I'm definitely going to take courses in a lot more. I can only speak Spanish and English nowadays. I gave up on Mandarin Chinese some 6 years ago I think, but I guess I was too young and not nearly as fascinated with different tongues as I'm now, so I would really like to take those courses again. I'm currently studying French and planning on studying German once I finish that.

I like video games, although lately I haven't played anything new and fresh.

Reading too. My favorite books are classics, thrillers, mysteries, fantasy and lovecraftian horror.

I also have a fascination for a lot of stuff that most people would consider weird.

...I suppose I'll edit this when I come up with more stuff I like.

For me it's baking and cooking! Quite passionate about it. I also like swing dancing, used to burlesque dance/do pinups, read a ton about serial killers and have an obsession with The X Files and Law and Order SVU. Add a little bit of hiking, little bit of goth, industrial, ebm, psychobilly, rockabilly and doo wop and I am one happy camper.

I like to lift weights, read (about metal especially), watch movies (favorite director is tarantino) and draw, though i'm not very good.
I also listen to some genres that aren't metal, like punk and hard rock.

Okay yes you got me, tits. Ass is better though!

As a serious answer I enjoy a fair amount of other types of music (jazz/jazz fusion, k-pop, other horrible shit) in particular Allan Holdsworth, Weather Report, Bjork, Girls Generation, Portishead, recently Edie Brickell and New Bohemians.

I'm mainly fascinated with sound engineering/production which takes up most of my time these days. Quite a fan of games too, mainly older games..DooM, Starcraft 1, Undying, Deus Ex etc, and watching documentaries (particularly serial killer documentaries).

Anything sci-fi related usually interested me whether it be in the form of films, games or even books (hardly read these days but the Second Foundation series was pretty cool).

I love anything to do with cute animals too! :D

Well for starters, there's non-metal music. Punk, alternative, classic rock, rap, jazz, pop, funk, and whatever else a friend may turn me on to (even though I am picky).

I also enjoy a great deal of TV and film. I am using a friend's Netflix account so that gives me access to a lot plus the internet is unlimited. I've been enjoying everything from How I Met Your Mother to the Evil Dead trilogy. I have a PS3 so I enjoy myself a good deal of gaming too.

I recently started hitting the gym so exercise is becoming more and more of an activity for me. Free gym access at my college is pretty sweet.

Love getting fucked up too. Since I'm at school it's mostly beer and weed (both of which I love). But over the summer I will be going on some psychedelic trips hopefully.

The one interest of mine that is on par with metal for me is fucking pro-wrestling. I got into wrestling a little over ten years ago, and believe it or not it's actually one of the things that got me into metal. But most people I knew at an adolescent age liked wrestling and then they grow out of it. I never grew out of it. I can't go a Monday without missing Raw. I've been to countless WWE live events (including Survivor Series '11, when CM Punk began his historic title reign). My interest in wrestling doesn't end with WWE though. I love the American indys like ROH, PWG, and Chikara and have some of my favorite guys like The American Wolves and Sami Callihan. Love the older stuff too like 80s/90s WWF, early 90s WCW, any ECW, some NWA stuff. Japanese wrestling is sick too, some of the most athletic stuff around and it really influenced the American scene. I plan on making a career in both pro-wrestling and metal, kind of like Chris Jericho but more underground :-P

They're either fairly happy with blading, or end up injuring each other fairly bloodily, in a fairly high proportion of their matches - I'm not sure which. In general I just enjoy how over-the-top it is, and the really profane, slightly-crossing-the-line commentary certainly helps. I'm not as familiar with them as I could be, to be honest.

SpiritOfTheForest will know literally everything - he goes to all of their events, more or less.

Most of their recent stuff is on YouTube, by their intention;
http://www.youtube.com/user/ICWOnline

I particularly recommend the "Insane in the Membrane" show.

Here are mine:

1. Writing poetry in my native language (Afrikaans).
2. Drinking beer, vodka, sometimes wine.
3. Dreaming about visiting Nordic countries, Scandinavia and France...(sigh)...money is the problem.
4. Reading philosophy, poetry, fiction, history, art-history etc.
5. Watching horror, war, drama & art movies (I love movies by Lars von Trier and a few other directors)
6. Watching sports.
7. Doing exercise (play squash, practice boxing).

Well, I could make an extensive list including sports, video games, literature etc. (which are obviously there), but I'll just say that the biggest passion for me is Mahjong (Riichi). I play it about 2-5 hours a day on the internet (Japanese sites), and whenever we can pull it off in the real life - we do. I would probably play more, but I got to sleep, attend university, socialize and so forth, so yeah. :P I'm translating a book from Japanese right now too, and possibly might write my own in the future - related to Mahjong. It's a plausible career too, as I technically have the qualifications to play it as a professional in real life (in Japan). Would just have to pass a 50-page test at this point, where you need to answer questions related to theory of the game.

i love traditional games and i used to play mahjong too for 4 years. im still pretty good. i play a lot of games, my favorite is backgammon.

I enjoy rock climbing very much. I have been rock climbing in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Luxembourg and new zealand
Unfortunately there are no rocks where I live so I have to train on plastic. Going climbing is my ideal vacation and I love being in the mountains or outdoors in general as well. I like to chill with friends and smoke weed, preferrably outside in a parc. It is not uncommen that we play some games such as settlers of catan , machiavelli or card games etc.
Furthermore I enjoy what I am learing from study physical therapy. So much anatomy and knowledge that you could apply to anybody.
I enjoy what I do as a job on the side as well: building layher stages for events/festivals or other event work like setting up (giant) tents, sitecrew, light and sound. For the rest I like to read occasionaly, make drawing (it has been too long aqo), cooking and eating, drinking.

History, love Irish history because it's so deep and intriguing especially considering that we officially have mote terror groups than Afghanistan :P suck it Afghanis. Also love reading general conflict zone history like the current middle east conflicts and especially the Yugoslav republic breakup etc...

Programming, starting to contribute to some open source software now it's pretty cool I try to improve my skills all the time so I watch a lot of tech talks on topics related to this.

Cooking, I cook some weird and random shit as well as nice traditional dishes. Today I had some peppers, curried rice and pasta left over from a salad so I fried some chicken threw on some garlic, soy sauce and turmeric and fried it all together and it was really nice.

David Attenborough, I am so gay for him it's unreal  he has the voice of a god and hos documentaries are fascinating.

Football of the non American variety.

Drinking whiskey (well what do you expect I'm Irish)

Gaming, RPGs mostly

Huffing glue ;) ......I kid haha

Video games - primarily League of Legends at the moment, though I enjoy most forms of competitive online PC gaming. I haven't been into console gaming in recent years, but I enjoy good old Playstation/Playstation 2, SNES, NES, etc.

Exercise - I'm a health nut and love to exercise. Anything from biking, running, weight lifting, and all the stuff that goes with that, such as nutrition. As someone who was overweight for a long time, I especially like helping people who want advice when it comes to getting healthy.

True crime - been a true crime enthusiast for many years and have read a lot about criminology, profiling, law, serial murderers, etc. Been into that stuff ever since I was 13 when I saw the movie Psycho for the first time.

History - I love this topic, always have. Always been fascinated by the two world wars, the American Civil War, and generally, tumultuous times throughout history. I like just randomly looking up things that come across my interest (The Titanic, the Black Death of Europe, the Holy Roman Empire, etc). I always like trying to imagine what people of different eras or different historical events were feeling, thinking, experiencing. It completely takes me away.

Handyman type stuff - always liked working with tools, my hands, and fixing/creating things.

I'd like to learn more about cooking. Honestly, I like learning in general.

I am a fan of outside the Metal...mmhmhm: making a side other musical genres.
1-I like too go out for a walking every time I can
2-playing guitar
3-watch action or comedy films(I don't care if it is independent or from Hollywood)
4-read about past wars (mainly classic ancient or medieval times)
5-I like a lot to do exercise too
6-watch the classical 'the simpsons' episodes (from the last season before the movie) or another incoherent TV shows

does anybody here likes to do excercise or hate the new Simpsons episodes so much as me??

Wow, I was actually really surprised how few people listed instruments.

My main thing aside from listening to metal is playing guitar. Granted, I mostly practice and write metal, but still I would consider playing the guitar not specific to the genre of metal. I've played for over 10 years, though since graduating college I've lost a lot of my free time to practice. But up until entering the work force I would practice for hours every day, always trying to play the next thing that I thought was impossible. One of my favorite feelings is looking at a song and feeling "damn, I could never do that", then really devoting yourself to it, then a month later "oh wow, I can't believe I can play this. I must be god." But not just playing the guitar, also reading about them, modding them, buying them... I can't walk past a store with guitars in the window without going in and playing at least one (though my girlfriend sighs pretty hard every time)

Next after guitar is alcohols. Not just getting piss wasted, but drinking different kinds of special or rare alcohols different ways and really enjoying the flavor. Since I've been living in japan my favorite thing to drink is shochu-- I love going out and trying all different kinds. It can be made a lot of different ways so I feel like there's even more variety than within the average field of alcohol, say tequila or whiskey (though I know a big whiskey drinker would definitely debate that lol). Also sake, but I feel like it has less character than shochu because it's generally pretty sweet. But I still like cracking open a nice bottle and drinking it soooo sloooooowwwwwwww.

It's funny because I saw someone else mention pokemon. I don't game too much, but when I do its pokemon. I dunno, I've played it ever since I was little and I just like the idea of it and the way you play and tryin to catch'em all! Right now working on white, haven't gotten around to black/white 2.

I should mention that basically through everyday living I am studying Japanese and Japanese culture. It was my major in school, and now that I live here it hasn't decreased my interest in the least. I live in a very historical place (Kyoto) so there is like an unlimited amount of temples and shrines that I can go to on a nice day. Despite liking pokemon and japan I actually don't watch anime or read manga. If I read anything it's usually just novels, particularly mystery novels. (in japanese of course). If I watch anything it's usually western because japanese drama and movies usually aren't half as good. I'm not saying nothings good, I'm just saying the west is definitely winning in terms of visual entertainment. I do like Japanese comedians though.

outside of these things? I dunno, I just basically summed up my entire non-work life right there. Wow, that's almost depressing. When I am in USA i love smoking pot. I would love smoking pot here too its just really expensive and hard to find.

I'm big into serious chocolate. The stuff is like what wine is to wine buffs when you really get into the dark stuff. I also like rum and will happily spend mad amounts of money on the rare stuff. I also like fast punk, comics, horror films, Euro-westerns, anything by Russ Meyer ;), PC games and TNA Wrestling.

I'm an antiquarian, so I spend entire days reading scholarly works concerning Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. I also adore poetry, and keep a little book where I write various verses in my spare time. I really enjoy cooking, but I don't have much time for it this past while; pastas are my speciality.

Well, lets see...

Video games have been a thing for me since I first got a Gameboy. Just something I enjoy, it has essentially replaced TV in my life, and what little TV I watch I get off of Netflix or the DVR. Comics have become a thing for me thanks to Conan/The Walking Dead. I seriously love the whole comic book style. And there's nothing like throwing on some epic doom metal and throwing down on a Conan comic. Music is a big deal to me, and I like a lot of 60's and 70's styled stuff (part of my love for doom/stoner metal!). Stoner rock, blues rock, Outlaw country, "classic" rock, the Christian rock of the time, (still good at that point, it was still underground. Love me some Nazareth.) I'm also big on country, but I stick to the fringe stuff- Outlaw, Honky Tonk, Texas Country, New Old School, some gothic, Cowpunk, traditional. (On traditional, think along the lines of Hank Williams Sr., Louvin Brothers)

I'm also big on reading, but I've had trouble recently finding books I like- bad writing style puts me off too often. I like stories in general though, especially Sci Fi, Fantasy, Western, Cyberpuck/Steampunk/Dieselpunk, Neo-50's (Fallout!), and mixed genre's. Stuff like Weird West and Dark Fantasy really grab my attention.

It's hard for me to pinpoint one thing outside of metal and my guitar playing that mean as much to me, since I put so many hours into practicing and all that. I take good care to stay in shape, and I run a lot and I like whole foods. As a result of this, I try to be a very conscious cooker, and explorer. I love being outside and hiking and canoeing and all that, though lately I haven't had the time or money to take a real journey, ya know? And as someone else brought up, cooking is very important and a cool thing to have under your belt.

Aside from that though, which really just makes up the effort to keep myself healthy, I'm now at a point in my life where I'm starting to read for the hell of it. I just started Moby Dick and I'm really liking it. I tend to like books about isolation. See: A Space Odyssey, Into The Wild.

Also used to be really great with photoshop. I'm kinda crap now.

Well aside from other genres of music

- Professional wrestling
- Science fiction TV shows
- Comedy (especially 50s,60s)
- Wargaming
- Tabletop RPGs
- Discworld!
- Comics, though nowhere near enough to consider myself majorly clued-up. I can name more Batman villains than the average Batman movie fan, that's about it :p I wish I could get 2000AD more regularly.
- Sonic the Hedgehog!
- Videogames in general
- Fried chicken, apparently, I recently realised the amount I'd been eating recently. I think I can safely say I'm a very big fan of junk food :p
- Writing. In addition to a fantasy novel I've been trying to hammer out for years, I've been working on again off again on scripts for a comic I brainstormed with a friend one hot summer evening 2 years ago, as a love letter to 80s album covers, the old releases of Manga Entertainment (ridiculous amounts of tits, violence and profanity), Judge Dredd, etc

I'm not a fan of wrestling, but just had to ask: what about it suddenly became uninteresting to you in 2003?

does anybody here likes to do excercise or hate the new Simpsons episodes so much as me??

Oh good lord yes the Simpsons has been awful for 8 years!
Let's see, what else do i do besides whining about the Simpsons... I'm a huge fan kf Next Generation, Voyager and Stargate SG1. I also enjoy the Ottawa Senators, Oakland Raiders and Toronto Blue Jays; swimming, jogging, drinking, chicken wings, politics and fringe history/archaeology

Rock/Punk/Grunge music mostly being 13th Floor Elevators, L7, Seven Mary Tree, Screaming Tree's, Kings of Leon, Violent Soho, and so on.

I also have acquired a collection of underground literature from such books as Angel of Grozny, Baghdad Journals, Stones into Schools, coming out from watching the movie adapted version of the Kite Runner just got me interested in middle-eastern theology, philosophy, and literature.

The invasion angle ended....dream matches dried up....WWF became WWE.....it was just over for me.

Cool topic. I always love how far-ranging and diverse people's hobbies are. Some pretty interesting ones in here.

In order of importance to me:

1. Strength training/Powerlifting: I've been lifting for awhile now as all the sports I've participated in have required it: my rugby days in high school, with a team of powerlifters during university and now competing in BJJ and grappling. Other than the physical benefits though, lifting is like therapy for me. Three times a week for 1-2 hours at a time, I get to put my headphones in, blank out, forget about the things that are stressing me out and just do something that is purely about improving myself and making myself feel good for awhile. It's like a small window of time where I can be totally selfish and for that to not be a problem. I love everything about it: the pain and strain of training, reading up on the science behind it and I enjoy the writings of some of the more famous strength coaches like Jim Wendler etc.

2. Brazilian Jiujitsu/Grappling: The second love of my life. I wish I could train this stuff full time and reach an elite level. It's an incredibly deep sport and is probably the only thing in life where the notion of "learning for a lifetime" excites rather than bores me.

3. Restaurants: I love eating out and trying new restaurants and different cuisines. Eating good food makes life worth living!

Awesome to see someone other than me on here into BJJ.

What belt are you?

I'm a brown belt and have been doing it on and off since 1996 and have done 34 tournaments at this point.

I also train in Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling and a little MMA.

So yeah, martial arts are my main passion in life and have been since I started Karate at age 8 which I also got to 2nd degree brown belt in.

I also played a little Rugby in college but our team sucked lol.

Other interests not including metal of course:

music in general
Horror movies and Giallos
Movies in general and Indie movies
Nature, hiking and travelling
Ethnic food especially Indian and Thai
The paranormal, haunted shit, anything weird or unexplained
True crime, Serial killers and medieval warlords and killers and books about them
Gothic literature and literature in general and other genres like The Romantic poets, The Graveyard Poets, The Surrealists and the Decadents
Writing in general
Some interest in Psychology, Philosophy, Religions and the occult and books on these subjects
Drinking and sometimes others substances
Weird art and surrealistic art (not a big interest, but I like it)
The 80s in general and 80s nostalgia, 80s cartoons, 80s music & music videos, also interested in 70s and 60s in general
Cats
I also have a weird fascination with certain countries and places I have never been, mainly Finland, Romania/Transylvania, Brazil, Hungry (only cause of my Elizabeth Bathory fascination...) and Norway.

Yeah, that's most of what I can think of for now, sure I left out some stuff.
