Fok. G'luck bro. Hopefully it isn't awful. ErosionofHumanity and you should grab a beer.

I'm down for that. I hope it goes alright for you though. I don't know how it is else where but it seems like here in 'Murica the dude always gets the shaft from court system (at least that's how the divorces I've seen have gone) so just keep your head up and hopefully it'll all be over soon. Ohh and don't go all Tim Lambesis cause that shit never ends well. :oh shit:

I was about to say: I'm not a marriage expert or anything, but pulling a Tim Lambesis generally sounds like a bad idea. If you're going to do that, you're going to have a bad time, m'kay?

I'm in physical pain from the stupid.

Your Christian acquaintance's response just made my earlier response to Ribos' post look brilliant.

Subrick's post is pretty stupid anyway, who really cares if you had an argument with a fervent Christian and won/made them look stupid? Seems like a waste of time to me. I'd rather have an argument with an intelligent person and actually be able to understand their views and have them understand mine too...which I did this afternoon. Good times.

That immediately made me think of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Mac's answer was just as amusing.

BBQ peanuts master race. Pistachios are very good too, but they're expensive and mess up the fingers. Also pistachio ice cream is awesome.

A few too many of these in one sitting have caused some cases of liquid fire on occasion, thus serving as a reminder to never settle for less in my choice of toilet paper. Worth it every time.

Almonds can go extinct for all I care.
Pistachios and Peanuts are the best nuts, clearly. Salt and Pepper Pistachios = an empty bag an hour later for me.

Pistachio is a seed, not a nut as well...

For all of you with an interest in the less glorious aspects of war history: Finnish armed forces recently released about 160 000 photographs from the WWII era on the web. The material ranges from scenery, through the supply line, to Russian POWs, actual combat pics, and whatever the Army photographers thought worthy of preserving. From the archives, they've only left out the most gruesome items, although frozen corpses are a frequent sight. Everything is freely available, and now, a couple of months after launching the service, they've even managed to get enough server muscle to handle the load. Interesting stuff:

I'm giving bm-era Enslaved a shot. What is the most refined piece of their early material, I don't recall Frost being too bad just kind of ho-hum

Reading more about climate change, trying to find out the truth about man made global warming.

I have read conflicting views but this sounds all too believable, why then are David Bellamy and Johnny Ball taking their stance? (I don't trust bbc reporting, I listen to radio 4 daily (morbid fascination) and it's full of bias)

Quote:
In September, senior NASA climate scientist James Hansen had warned of a ‘planetary emergency’ because of the dangerous effects of Arctic ice melt, including methane gas released from permafrost regions currently under ice. ‘We are in a planetary emergency,’ said Hansen, decrying ‘the gap between what is understood by scientific community and what is known by the public.’

Quote:
The pillars of a genuinely liberal society have been so weakened, if not destroyed, that we are essentially living under a system of corporate totalitarianism

Quote:
‘[We] think we're on for 4 to 6 degrees C but we just can't be open about it.’

Quote:
Worse, the liberal class has: ‘lent its voice to hollow acts of political theater, and the pretense that democratic debate and choice continue to exist

Yeah...it sucks. Oh well, life goes on I guess. Nothing fun about it though. She is also considered as one of the "dream girls" in our social circle so I guess this means I will have to watch/hear about my male "friends" drool over her. Sickening.

This FFA has been very depressing lately. Divorce, breakups, AIDS screenings, it's like there's some other worldly force that just wants to bum everyone out here at every turn.

Talking recently with some more food-oriented people I know, I was surprised to hear that tomato (if lightly and properly seasoned) can pair really well with watermelon as a tasty fruit salad. We're talking high-quality heirloom tomatoes here, purely those on the sweeter side, but still, it was an interesting concept and I'd be game to try it.

As for the nut talk, I think it's sort of silly to hold up one solitary nut as the Master Nut. They all have their proper uses and they're all great in their own ways.

Any body ever see the movie Last Days Here about Bobby Liebling and kind of about Pentagram? If you're into documentaries about music and what not it's a pretty good watch, though I think it could be used as an anti drug campaign for youngsters.

Last night I had an odd MA-related dream, probably the first I've had that didn't involve just dicking around on the site. A whole bunch of MA folks had been invited out to Morrigan/HB's house for a sort of annual party, and I was one of the first people to arrive because I'd been asked to help set up. The house was a nice, relatively spacious, middle-class home, situated out in a rural area, with French doors leading out onto some wide lawns surrounded by trees and shrubs. I was there in the early morning, even before the hosts, and I was under instructions from Morrigan to clean up one specific room. To my dismay, however, time suddenly sped up and it was instantly hours later, full daylight out, with dozens of people already having arrived and the party begun without my having cleaned or tidied up anything at all. As usual, Morrigan was mildly annoyed with me, and I felt bad about letting her and HB down, particularly because I'd never met them in real life before. I never saw HB in the dream, but Morrigan looked more or less like Jodi Foster (specifically Clarice Starling in The Silence of the Lambs, but in a black band shirt). Since it was an awkward situation I decided to head elsewhere in the house, and ran into a co-worker of mine, who I was surprised to see because I had no idea he was on the Archives. Turned out in the dream that he was a big trad metal fan - hilarious to me because in real life he listens to stuff like Spice Girls and Aqua. We decided to go outside and see how things were faring out there. People were milling around, drinking and talking on the grass in small groups, making introductions. I think I had a brief conversation with OzzyApu, and was about to start helping set up a ridiculously small volleyball court when I woke up. A shame, really... So many retardedly off-base MA bro-downs gone to waste :(

The most surreal part was when you revealed that there are actually men who listen to Spice Girls and Aqua.
