Quote:
Legendary actor Christopher Lee, who has appeared in such cinematic milestones as "Lord Of The Rings", "Star Wars", "The Man With The Golden Gun" and "Dracula", will release his second heavy meetal album, "Charlemagne: The Omens Of Death", on May 27 on audio CD, a two-disc gatefold vinyl and MP3 downloads.

"Charlemagne: The Omens Of Death" signifies Christopher Lee's move into "full-on" heavy metal.

The music in "Charlemagne: The Omens of Death" was arranged by Richie Faulkner. He completed the work shortly before he was called to join JUDAS PRIEST as lead guitarist.

01. The Portent (4:29)
02. Charles The Great (6:23)
03. The Siege (7:09)
04. Massacre Of The Saxons (5:41)
05. Dawning Of A New Age (4:40)
06. Let Legend Mark Me As The King (5:45)
07. The Betrayal (5:02)
08. The Devil's Advocate (4:54)
09. The Ultimate Sacrifice (5:09)
10. Judgement Day (3:41)

I just heard the samples in the link and yeah, this one's definitely making it on. Lee's vocals are hit and miss to me. I mean he's a 90 year old guy so you tell me how well he's supposed to sing for his age. The music itself is really not that bad. Damn solid heavy metal if I've heard any.

That was pretty metal. The riffs were good, so this might be enjoyable.

His album arts are getting better. That one is almost not completely silly.

Isn't it just a still from a pose he struck in that music video from the previous album?

I'm not that into the music, though it isn't bad, but Christopher Lee is a certified badass and that footage of him hanging out with Tony Iommi is simply and utterly mindblowing!

Well, at least it actually sounds like metal this time. I may check this out if I could actually hear a few songs in their entirety.

Did you notice how the choruses of "Charles The Great", "Massacre Of The Saxons" and "Let Legend Mark Me As The King" were just copied from the debut? Makes me wonder if this is the exact same story as before, but this time with proper music to accompany it.

I didn't know he made metal music. Lord Summerisle has to be one of the coolest movie characters in history

"Let Legend Mark Me As The King" is possibly the most metal song title I've heard in a long time.

The original was fairly bad, hopefully this one has the music to back up the novelty value, because I desperately wanted to love the original. Let's face it, Christopher Lee was already metal as fuck before he did a metal album.

For a guy his age, his vocals are in really good shape. He should use his upper register more.

Anyone had a chance to give this a listen yet? I wasn't particularly impressed with the debut effort, but I have huge respect for Christopher Lee, so I will get around to this at some point. Thoughts from those who have heard it?

His music I could take or leave. This music sounds like actual metal though, and you have to give this man props for being so old and so metal!

It's beginning to sound like actual metal, but I can't help but think he/they should have a more power metalesque focus rather than regular heavy metal. The intro reminded me of Rhapsody, and I could probably better see him in a band like Rhapsody than a band like, say, Judas Priest

It is a bit Priestesque in places in a "Nostradamus" kind of way except with better music. Some of his vocal parts are laughable but I like this!

Apparently much of the music was created by Richie Faulkner, KK Downing's replacement in Priest.

I like Lee's vocals in a weird way. But I can't say the final product sounds terribly appealing. The first Charlemagne album was fucking terrible and boring. This one sounds just a tad more tolerable.

But it's still cool that he is doing something like this.

Lee is one of the most badass guys alive, so I'm going to check this out right now. The dude's 90 and he's so metal. Add to that being the classy actor he has always been. Man, respect is due indeed. I hope that this album will deliver in way or another!

Man those are some of the weakest drums I've ever heard in my life. However, his material has... slowly been getting better and better. Have to give credit to the guy for putting so much time and effort into this project. It obviously means a lot to him.
