I'm with you guys too. I love both bands but I prefer Gridlink's stuff over Discordance Axis. I can't place a finger on a reason though...possibly the tone? marginally more aggressive?

Anyway, do you guys remember the Homeland episode in season 1 when they were torturing a captive with Gridlink's music? Everyone else was shocked as to how I knew that :/ But I'm pretty sure the few of us who identified it immediately, rejoiced.

As much as I like DxAx I've never been a fan of the guitar tone.

I watched homeland over the summer and had a lot of fun realizing that was gridlink playing. Magrudergrind were on HBO's Veep and were originally planned to be part of the show's story as "normal dudes who played in a loud metal band to get out every day stress from work" never saw what they were on... and EHG was on an episode of Treme. Someone in HBO likes metal.

I've heard of DoF, haven't listened to them too much. They are pretty cool. I like the hardcore sound they have. They were on the This Comp Kills Fascists Vol 2 correct?

Yeah, those songs are great, some of my favorite, Corroded is a real grower. Johnson's vocals are good like his lyrics for the album. The bass is super audible and there's a lot to tap your foot to. They label it as "grind n' roll"

I remember that album having a good bit of dissonant riffing, and for some reason the only thing I can think of that might come close was that last Gride album...but something tells me you know of that already/isn't what you're looking for...

I actually really liked that gride album despite being the world's most vocal opponent of progressive music. But yeah, not really like DoF as it's much faster and frantic and lacks the mid tempo rock and roll vibe.

So I ended up going to see Pizza Hifive and Six Brew Bantha show, and I only stayed for Water Torture cause the vocalist for my band didn't want to stay there... I feel like a GD moron for driving out to Buffalo for that. WT was awesome though, but... Man what a waste.

i was wondering if there are any bands that play some fast and aggressive grindcore, something like Cryptic Slaughter but grindcore version.
If some songs contains guitar solos it would be good too.

So thrashy grindcore with guitar solos?

Well there ain't no solos but maybe Lycanthrophy? it's just outside of really being called grindcore, they kinda get a bit thrashy and do a lot of quick tempo changes. I assume you know Werhmact and older Municipal Waste. They blast and thrash.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_nTktu1xtM

plus they're fucking awesome.

Give PLF a shot if you're not familiar. Blazing grindcore with thrashy riffs, no solos tho. I linked one of their older albums below, the new one "Devious Persecution and Wholesale Slaughter" is on youtube in it's entirety.

Wellllll... PLF are somewhat unique in being that thrashy but if you're not familiar with Insect Warfare then you should give them a go. I'd recommend the split with Carcass Grinder and World Extermination as a starting point.

Less thrashy but no less frantic would be Parlamentarisk Sodomi: http://sodomi.bandcamp.com/album/de-ana ... -an-n-aler

Suffering Mind's amazing. Check out Six Brew Bantha. They can get a bit thrashy as well. Just saw them too, great live band.

It's okay, the guitar could use a bit more definition as it's just a bit too indistinguishable.

but bro, do like.. 3 weeds and listen to that reek of puke album by that band crass, best grindharcore album ever.

Hello Grindy people, I'd like you to trawl the bottom of the Grind cupboard and rec me some nasty old-school grind/death-grind/gore-grind that I can explore after work tonight: raw and distorted, but audible, and not over-reliant on incoherent chaotic speed. Exulceration is probably the best example I can give, though it can be sloppier than that if needed.

What ya got?

Well, I'll go ahead and rec Gowl since we were just talking about them...
http://gowl.bandcamp.com/

Additionally, check these bad sammies out:

Nak'ay
http://nakay.bandcamp.com/album/split-5 ... holy-grave

Grotesque Organ Defilement
http://godgrotesqueorgandefilement.band ... us-split-7

Violent Gorge
http://aggressivevalley.bandcamp.com/al ... g-releases

The Oily Menace
http://theoilymenace.bandcamp.com/

Grinchfinger
http://grinchfinger.bandcamp.com/releases

Archagathus / Meatus split
http://aggressivevalley.bandcamp.com/al ... e-grinders

The ones with names that sound more like goregrind are more in that direction but still erring on the side of raw and noisy. Tried to rec stuff that tempered the blistering speed that is grind with parts that aren't just straight blasting tomfoolery.

Does anyone know of any grindcore like Gronibard, Excrementory Grindfuckers and Japanische Kampfhörspiele?

Basically, I'm looking for well-produced grind with compositions that has fast blastbeat parts but also allows for slower breakdowns.

Experimental or wacky (like Gronibard or ExGx) and/or 2(+) vocalists is a plus!

If your looking for some decent grindcore I thoroughly recommend a band called Wormrot, their from Singapore and are a pretty heavy, fast paced grindcore band and they focus mainly on war and sometimes political issues.
