IdiotFlesh, one of the defining attributes that is required for a band to be considered metal by the site is the prevalent use of metal riffing. Annorkoth is lacking in that regard. So maybe it's not your archetypical ambient/electronic band, but I can tell you that we do not consider it to be a metal project either.

ALEXANDER GLAVNIY - Without Waste Words - CD (Archaic Sound) 2013

Without Waste Words is first instrumental solo-album by Alexander Glavniy, who is a mastermind of Ukrainian Funeral Doom Death Metal Ceremony AUTUMNIA and well known for his work in MOURNFUL GUST and VAE SOLIS. This album is a journey to unknown place of human mind and soul, where extreme metal meets with immortality of classical music.

Bandcamp: http://archaic-sound.bandcamp.com/album ... aste-words

What this if it's not metal music??????????????

Sorry Odiumaniac, Encyclopaedia Metallum was forced to reject your submission for the band Alexander Glavniy (Ukraine), for the following reason:

Not a metal band; does not belong on Encyclopaedia Metallum. Please read (or re-read) our rules next time to see what qualifies as metal.

If you want to object to this rejection, please do so in the appropriate thread in the Suggestions and Complaints sub-forum. Do not e-mail moderators directly about this.

Sincerely,
- Azmodes, Encyclopaedia Metallum

Yeah, no, that's a load of crap... sorry. If you added blastbeats to hip-hop, it'd still be hip-hop.

Guitars are the primary defining characteristic of metal, period.

At a cursory glance, this sounds like progressive hard rock.

Our band was rejected because "no evidence of a release".
It has been released on Art Performance Production (Dutch label).
The Tucana album "Tucana" is available on iTunes.

Please include that in the "submission notes" field, thanks. Also, make sure there is somewhere that we can stream the music, as not all of us use iTunes, that would be ideal. You can resubmit.

Sad to hear that my band was rejected. As if we're not having enough trouble succeeding in being recognized and appreciated. What do you mean we're not metal enough, sorry i don't get it, cause it has all the necessary ingredients to being metal. Have you actually had the time to listen to the album? Or you automatically rejected it when you took a glance at the genre in description? I don't get what you guys consider metal these days, but for all the stuff i heard over the years, and what bands here pass as metal bands, is really awkward an incomprehensive to me.

Which band is it?

There's no specific reason mentioned. It may be that either the releases are not considered valid, or metal.

There usually described as Glam Metal, but I'm familar to them via their more recen work, XI: The Days Before Tomorrow, & it sounds like Traditional Metal.

So I'm just finishing uploading my first release to Bandcamp and I want to make sure it would be ok to submit to archives, just so I don't accidentally get my dumb ass black-listed.

It's a finished product, not a rough mix, has front and back cover art included in the download, and clocks in at 42 minutes long. I do consider it to be a demo rather than a true full-length, but I noted that the submission guidelines for a band with a digital only release stipulate that it needs to be a full-length. Does this mean a digital demo is unacceptable? The difference between a demo and a full-length seems pretty arbitrary a lot of the time. It seems to mostly just come down to what the band considers the release to be. So, does it seem like I am in the clear to submit?

Oh, and I think it certainly meets the requirements of being metal.

If it's a complete, professional-sounding production, it'll be fine. Make note of that in the "submission notes", and we'll judge it - we use our discretion, but if it's clearly a finished product, then it can be accepted.

the band is called Manubrium. We do only digital releases, not playing live and the album rejected here is found at www.archive.org/details/ManubriumTheStronghold
you said at the beginning of the year you'll be accepting such bands that tend to make their material through digital meanings. I think our band is pretty metal when you listen to it. It has an ambient sound but the guitar distortion is there and the rhythm and drums. All of it. We're an independent band not signed with any label.

I see that Tim Lambesis's Latest project "Pyrithion" has been blacklisted. I'm guessing this is because before the EP hasn't been released? As of today the EP is officially released and people have been getting the pre orders: https://www.facebook.com/pyrithion .so now can they become un-backlisted?

It is not this site's job/purpose to promote bands.

No band is just rejected on a whim, of course whoever dealt with the submission listened to the music. I checked "The Stronghold" and obvious programming aside, not sure I'd call this metal as per our guidelines. Many purely ambient tracks and the ones that do have some riffing I wouldn't call sufficiently metallic. Some doom/metal moments, but it's very reduced and amateurish. Not that amateurism automatically precludes bands, but this is really pushing it in terms of actual musical structuring. I get more of a mellow electronic/ambient vibe from all of this. The demo sounds more acceptable, though...

I see you submitted it twice, and it was (correctly) rejected for only having a short digital demo out the first time. "The Stronghold" might help in that regard, but it's still pretty short and not at all what we consider professionally-enough recorded/produced for a digital release. So the musical issues left aside, it doesn't qualify release-wise anyway. Sorry.

You need veteran status (1000< points) before you're able to delete any links yourself. I've already deleted it though as it was not band specific and it belonged on the artist page.

When a user brings up a band for reconsideration here, it's expected of him or her to provide musical samples from the album(s) he or she considers metal enough or other useful sources to back up this claim. Or at the very least a better worded argument as to why the band should be re-evaluated than "I dunno they're called metal sometimes, their newer album perhaps, look up some songs or something". If that is the best you can do, then that's fine, but don't expect any results.

our band Manubrium and music has absolutely nothing to do with electronics. it's ALL guitars, just to clear that out. we're not professionals neither do we have a studio to make our material. That's it. We'll try elsewhere.

todesengel_hell, asking about a band from a few pages back we may have forgotten about is okay, but you already posted about it on this page, so no need to quote it again. Please be patient.

That's hard rock, not metal. Not even that hard at some points, come on, that second track isn't even close to metal. There's no metal guitar riffing - leads/solos, but the guitars pretty much just chug on one note as a simple rhythm. The vocalist is soft too. Compare it to Judas Priest, where there's a bit of simple chugging backing a powerful vocalist, and lots of guitar riffing. On the other hand, compare it to Van Halen, which is riffier hard rock. This isn't at all metal.
