Azure Agony - India.

Cool Italian prog metal.

What do you think of their first album? I think I preferred their instrumental material to the newer stuff, but it's been a while since I listened to the newer one.

NP: Iron Maiden - Lord of the Flies

Probably my favourite track from X Factor, might listen to the whole album later.

God, I love this album.

This band is amazing but I must re-rip ALL the albums because of an HDD failure.

That sucks man. I actually need to buy physical copies of their albums; I own 'Saivo', but all the rest I ripped from my ex's CDs. At the very least, I must have 'Kauan'.

Shadow Gallery - Comfort Me

One of the most underrated bands of all time. I honestly have no idea why more people don't know these guys. They're far more catchy and coherent than a band like Dream Theater, and I'd also say they're more brilliant (if not more technically skilled).

There's something strangely cheerful about spending easter alone listening to this shit.

Opeth - Harvest (Royal Albert Hall version)

Best way to describe this much more airy, jazzy version of the song is if Harvest was on Heritage.

MA says Inter Arma is "Blackened Groove/Southern Metal"...what the hell! I'm gonna check the album 'cause I'm interested but this is a silly tag. Any thoughts on the genre, guys?

It's definitely a weird tag, but the sound of Inter Arma is quite tricky to pin down. Don't ask me though, I will probably tag it as something like "progressive post metal sludge with some tiny bits of black metal fused into it".

Botanist - Nourishing the Fetus (Mandragora IV)

I am really digging this new album. The last three had their moments, but I feel like the project really hit it's stride here. No guitars or bass just a highly distorted dulcimer, drums and black metal vocals that range from Inquisition like croaks to anguished screams. It has a beauty to it's strange sound yet it's still harsh enough to deserve it's metal tag. Apparently it's too metal for the archives ;)

pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff. If they had metal rifffs, they would be on M-A.

BTW, thanks for putting a comment in your post, everyone should do that instead of posting 10 times a day with only the name of the song.

Shining black majesty. This whole album is, really. Just a dark evil star in the sky.

Samael - ...Until The Chaos

Still in the "getting to know" phase with Samael. Not that they are hard to get or like. Blood Ritual is simple doomy old school black/death, and that's pretty damn fine. You can get into this stuff instantly, but I can't see it getting boring any time soon.

Seconding this. This thread would get a lot less pointless.

Attic - Funeral in the Woods

German King Diamond. Can't get any better than this for modern traditional metal.
