Type O Negative - Too Late: Frozen
It's kind of funny and depressing at the same time.

Portal - Vexovoid

First listen of this and it's pretty much what I expected from them. Not a radical departure from Swarth, although I will say it's probably less accessible than that one, particularly the middle section of the album. I'm going to need a few more listens of this, but for now this is Portal just doing what they do, which is not a bad thing.

The Airborne Toxic Event - Timeless. I love this song I'm not much of a radio rock guy but I tend to like this band, worth checking out if you like that kind of stuff.

Mastodon - Sleeping Giant, off Blood Mountain

Mmmmmm, this is better than I remember. It's still quite a few steps behind Leviathan regarding quality, but hey, considering how bloody mediocre the rest of this band's output is, I'm gonna cut 'em some slack.

The new album rules. 'In Their Hearts Is Right' is a great tune. I also like Dept. of False Hope, Fuck You, and Robin Hood in Reverse. Great album.

Infestus - Willinglessly Anticipating Death

Holy fuck this album is good! More and more listens give it more credit than immediately apparent on the surface. This has an extremely strong, powerful sense of grandiose, yet cruelly cold, menacing melody. Some sections are wrought with a brilliant attention to subtle nuance, with effortless bass lines creating a vast sub-current of bleak atmosphere. The sheer maturity and depth within this record is the reason why black metal is still a force. Absolutely stunning :metal:

Pryapisme - La notion de chiralité de spin et d'oscillation de saveur des particules supersymétriques définissant un champ scalaire lors d'une transition de conifold en cosmologie branaire dans un modèle ekpyrotique

One should really start with their debut, before listening to "Hyperblast Super Collider". But even then one wouldn't be properly prepared for this...
