The old server went down and I have to upload LOTS of photos again.
As always, nice ones, Forest!
Those remind me of this one:

I'll try to go to the snow tomorrow.

Those are from this last sunday. It was the "Day of Caves" so they made discounts in the tickets for something like 7 caves near where I live. Anyway, I finished going to this little town in which Inquisition was really severe (Zugarramurdi) for a guided tour:

These were taken in New Zealand. The second and third are on the north island and the rest is on the south island. Really awesome places indeed!

Wouldn't be amazingly consistent, maybe about the same consistency as the Sydney beaches maybe. It's Great barrier island but i couldn't tell ya where exactly otherwise i would be being a bastard. And yeah your pretty much guaranteed to get it to yourself, there is only around 800 residents on the island and...well i couldn't see nobody for miles when i was taking the pics.

Pine trees look really cool over there, where as here they look man made because they're not native.

what camera do yo have, i'm guessing its a shit load better than mine  i have a nikkon 18 mega pixel and 26 optical zoom. I'm sure if i took that last shot with my camera the lighting would have fucked it up... though i'm not the best photographer

It's also a Nikkon, entry level dslr (my first), these are the first shots I considered good enough to post as I haven't really got a clue how to set everything yet (don't like using auto).

It wouldn't take photos any better than yours, but like me you probably don't know how to get the most out of it yet.
I've often wondered what forestcorpse uses, probably a Canon 7d with all the money he has for vinyl!
Though you don't need to spend mega bucks, look at the fantastic shots Byrain and Basquestorm take.

I'm currently using a Canon Ixus 240 HS (and those last shot where taken in the boat using the Go Pro HD Hero 2) but my shots are NOT nice! LOL! It's almost imposible to take shitty shots with those sceneries! LOL!
Mindshadow, this last shot makes me remember some woods I used to ride with my motorbike. Fuck, I miss that fucker!

Yeah i still have a lot of fiddling around to do, i don't like to use auto either. One day i will have some impressive photo's maybe even this winter. At the moment all my photo's look more suitable for a fucking Rastafarian reggae forum.

also i don't know who edits there photos on here (well some are just plain obvious) but i never edit my photos, if it's a really good shot it shouldn't need it

I sometimes crop, but adding effects and colours normally always looks false, I guess sometimes you may need to lighten a dark photo, knowing how to use photoshop would be an advantage though.

Shooting to RAW files means there is no way around adjusting contrast etc. when refining the data. Don't know if that counts as editing though.

i know how to use the basic stuff on it. I have a mate who does the photo's for a local surfing magazine, he reckons editing is all part of the art

Some of the best in the world, i only managed a quick cast out off the shallow beach in front of our batch. Still managed 3 big ky and a small snap

Though there is endless amounts of amazing rock ledges and beaches, the whole island is basically untouched. Just as i was about to jump on the car fairy back home we got offered some snapper, one was about 12kg !!

Here is some photos from the beach/coast not 500m from the batch we rented near Dunedin (Longbeach/Purakanui Inlet) in NZ.

fuck that's nice and looks good for a fish! id haven't been to Dunedin yet, but have heard good things about the coast around there, and the rivers have salmon.
Sorry ky is just short for "kahawai" or sea salmon.

This was taken about a mile away from my house. I was just going on my daily (well, I don't go on walks every day but usually) walk and got it in my head that the grey sky and fog would make a nice picture.

Drove way up past the arctic circle here in Alaska a couple weekends ago. Several hundred miles straight north from Fairbanks through pure wilderness, broken only by a single truck stop and a historic mining town where only about a dozen people live. Not something people do very often in winter, so I figure I'll share some shots.

On the north side of the mountains - no more trees.

Best aurora viewing in North America is in the upper Koyokuk River Valley.
