i am looking for stuff that sounds like mortician's "house by the cemetery" or bands like gallhammer or coffins. y'know, the filthy, sludgy sewage. or like funerus. i am looking for things at any point on the death/doom spectrum as long as they are primitive and tuned to drop Z.

Lord of Putrefaction, one of Jus Oborn's pre-Electric Wizard bands should fit the bill nicely. Filthy, primitive, tuned way down:

Might be on the Drone0y side of things, but you'd probably like Tentacle: http://tentacle666.bandcamp.com/album/void-abyss

Stuff you may enjoy:

The "Eternal Life" EP from Gibbed:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xp3Vu4WLjA4

Nuclear Death (all their stuff, really):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00MCNUfeL0U

and of course a slew of "Bestial/War" Metal and similar bands (Blasphemy, early Beherit, Deiphago)

True, it's mainly associated with Black Metal, but I've always thought bands like these (the first two, not necessarily Deiphago as much) sounded closer to old Grindcore than anything, and I've always appreciated them with a Grind fan's ears.

I've never understood why people never seem to note the parallels between albums like Scum and The Oath of Black Blood.

it's the intersection of those genres that have always been the most interesting to me. even as a fan of blasphemy and beherit, i had overlooked their relevance to my request....and that now makes me think of bands like archgoat, black witchery and teitanblood. i should have mentioned those up front.

i bought the EP on bandcamp. fantastic stuff. it's not exactly what i'm looking for with this thread, but i am primarily a doom fan and they are right up my alley.

How about some Ramesses?

That might not be lo-fi enough though. There is also Chthe'ilist.

Then you can also try out Desecresy, I can't find a decent link, but from the newest album the track The Sleep of Titans could be promising.
