@639, I think you are taking this a bit too much to the heart.

It's actually better than their first album, but than again so is anything. Strikes me that there's a little bit of an arcturus vibe. Vocals are piss weak and I've definitely thought up better guitar parts in my sleep. 3/10 My recommendation is: listen to the Sham Mirrors instead because Arcturus actually has cool instrumentation and Garm's a far better singer.

Infestissumam has art now.

I honestly have no idea what that deformed mass beneath Papa Emeritus is.

It looks like a baby licking its own foot. Cover of the year right here gentlemen...

Well Ghost did say that the album was about the rise of the Antichrist immediately following his birth, so it's kinda fitting that a baby would be on the cover. I just hope that not every pressing of the record has "B.C." under the band name, since they're only called that here in the States.

Does that baby have a bald spot? What's with the foot-in-mouth depiction? Terrible drawing of that supposed baby or whatever it is. Apart from that, the cover in general isn't moving or inspiring or shocking. So it's pretty average and meh.

The baby has mask on his face...

It is basically a rip-off of this cover:

as the first one was a rip-off of this cover:

It's Ghost though. I wouldn't put it past them to have the baby drawn like that for the reason Marsdude said, especially considering the baby is supposed to be the newborn Antichrist.

Why do people feel the urge to spout their opinions about this band? "Bad Song writing", "bad vocals", "bad artwork", "bad foot wear". It's like whoever hates Ghost the most wins.
I don't like them, and just like with all bands/artists I don't like, I don't care about them. Neither do I care what anybody else thinks about them. You like them; good for you!

Because people like to be involved in conversations about bands, and the higher the profile, the more people who are going to be intrigued enough to listen, and the more people that listen the more that are going to have differing opinions.

Also with popular, terrible bands like this one, and Wintersun etc, there is an element of masochism that comes along, just to keep up with what sort of garbage a talked about band is putting out.

This Ghost album is producing much less entertaining forum drivel than the last one. 3/10, do not buy.

So, when does their singer change his stage name to "The Great Milenko"?

Papa for pope! It was only a matter of time before they used that as promotion, eh? New song there too, it's not metal at all haha. I kinda like the song, it's nothing great but it works.

It's more metal than Secular Haze was. The people who complained about Secular Haze being "circus-y" should be way happier with Year Zero.

I laughed so hard when I checked my email and that Pope Election popped up. I really like the new song, the chanting is pretty cool. This will more than likely be a top 10 of this year.

Not weird. The first album lacked punch in their riffs and had a poppy feel laced to it throughout its entire length.

As for new song, I like the intro.

The rhythm section here is disco as fuck, so it isn't weird at all.

I like the choir vocals backing up the chorus, that's actually pretty cool. But as usual, Ghost fans remain the easiest people in the world to impress, pretty dull song overall, with all the traits that make Ghost sucky on display.

It's a trippy song, pretty much on the same level as Secular Haze, and plagued with the same problems. Namely that's it's repetitive as fuck. Anyways, this album is still getting kudos from me cause it made me revisit ABBA.

I actually liked the new song less than Secular Haze, and I wasn't exactly a big fan of that song. Out of the 3 new Ghost tracks (2 of which are on the album), I like zero. I may just be a pessimist, but I think Ghost are done. Probably all downhill from here. At least they put out one great album (even if it isn't anything all that original).

I think the new song is really cool and pretty catchy too. Makes me want to go see them when they're playing here later this month.

Year Zero has a video now. NSFW as it's got tits.

I'm just gonna assume that Walter White here is Tobias Forge in makeup. He does the Papa Emeritus mannerisms too accurately to not be him.

EDIT: Just found the below.

Live takes of four songs from Infestissumam. The title track, Per Aspera Ad Inferi, Year Zero, and Monstrance Clock.

Ghost seemed to play quite a bit of new stuff as well when I saw them on Sunday in London (including Year Zero, which is awesome, and Secular Haze, which is not so awesome). Sounded pretty promising!!

Just the songs I have heard from the new album, I am quite excited for it.

I love Opus Eponymous, one of my favorite CD's to listen to, and I like how the band is taking a different direction (slightly) with this album.

As for the Year Zero video, I thought it was quite funny that people on the Ghost Facebook page were thinking the band is all female.
