Hi, so I've never been that into hardcore until I recently discovered "Children of God". It's a mix of hardcore and powerviolence with some sludge mixed in as well.

This is really the only song I could find on youtube and it doesn't show it here, but they also have atmospheric sections that help counteract all the chaos.

I would really just like recommendations of bands that mix hardcore and sludge. Anything close to this band would be a bonus.

Thanks in advance.

Dystopia's an obvious one, definitely check their stuff out if you're not familiar with their stuff.

Negative Standards might be exactly what you're looking for

Planks play a melodic, atmospheric and sometimes sludgy brand of hardcore you might dig.

Column of Heaven. Noisy, dark grindcore with nods to PV and very atmospheric. For whatever reason, that bandcamp starts on the second track...not the first.

Not as atmospheric, but Closure's a super sludgey PV band you might dig.

Among the shitload of post-metal bands, Neurosis often does a pretty legit Sludge Metal with atmosphere parts.

Full of Hell, tons of atmosphere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zukAtODiHnA

The rest I can recommend are just sludge/pv focused bands, not nearly as atmospheric.

Weekend Nachos might be what you're looking for, you tell me!

In retrospect they're not exactly atmospheric, but they're still awesome
