So far the bands are:
-Satan (headliner, obviously)
-Manilla Road (ditto)
-Goat Horn
-Meggido
-Voor
-Midnight
-Magic Circle (awesome doom from Boston)
-Beast Within (a new band from Québec)

Based on what Annick Giroux said, the 2nd headliner will be quite awesome (2 bands are considered) [Edit by Morrigan: it's Manilla Road!]

If I'm not going, I'll be sad :(

Satan, as in Court In The Act? Cause that would be sick.
Edit: It's definitely them. It's cross-country for me, but damn if I'm not gonna try to make this!

First show ever is a festival. Awesome. Listening to their demo for the first time now. Is there a Cthulu/death subgenre? ;) Massive crawling things.

I'd love to see Satan but I am unsure as to whether my work schedule/finances will permit me to take such a trip. Time will tell...

Satan was so ridiculously good! I expected them to be good but they surpassed my expectations by a long shot, they really blew me away. I'm gonna have to hurry and pick up that new album of theirs.

I mean Manilla Road was awesome, of course, it's Manilla Road. I already knew how good they were live because I saw them at MDF (though now they played two hours as headliners, woohoo). But they are experienced touring musicians so it's a given. Satan had disbanded for almost 3 decades and were only just reuniting (I think they reunited once in 2004 for Wacken or something but they haven't been very active, only some shows since 2011 I think), yet it didn't show at all, they weren't rusty or anything like that. Just an amazing performance. Brian Ross especially, wow, dat voice.

It was funny to see a crowd chant "Satan! Satan! Satan!" between songs. We sounded like a bunch of crazy cultists haha. :D

...Anyone know how old Graeme English is? He's been around since like 1980 but he barely looks 40.

And since there are two Skyclad members in Satan, and now I know they are willing to make the trip to Montreal, I hope this means we can get Skyclad in Montreal at some point in the future... :D

Satan were quite good. Manilla Road was passable but a weaker showing than MDF earlier in the year. I had a hard time staying awake because they were so late. Like Piledriver they suffered from having a name that's too hard to chant, so Satan obviously wins there. Piledriver had the best stage presence and the best interaction with the crowd. A girl reached up and rubbed Gordy's nipples and I poked his belly on the spot between the straps on his bondage armor (I said "boop!" :) ). At one point three guys jumped on stage and started singing the lyrics to the song into the mic and he allowed them! Midnight had the best pit because they are thrashy and extreme and also popular. But the standout was definitely Megiddo. Not much in the way of showmen but their music was clearly superior to all and I'll bet it's better on cd home alone late at night at full blast with some wine... They did the amazing job of being black and metal simultaneously and playing riffs that make you cross your arms and furrow your brow in determined concentration. The best kind of BM.
