Züül - To The Frontlines - This is some old-school sounding traditional heavy metal. It comes out December 14th on High Roller Records. I would definitely pre-order one of these immediately!

Rocka Rollas - Conquer - This is the most authentic Running Wild worship in existence! The new EP comes out next month on Stormspell records and is only a taste of the second album "Metal Strikes Back"

No worries man! Thank you for the great music! I love the first album as well as the EP and I can't wait to hear the full-length.

Also, for what it's worth, I think the current singer of Rocka Rollas is perfect for Blazon Stone's Return To Port Royal! :D

Gamma Ray - Skeletons & Majesties Live - This album had a great performance, but I was very letdown by the setlist. It's still worth listening to just for "Watcher In the Sky" and "Men, Martians, and Machines", but this wasn't quite what I was expecting.

Durvasag - EP Promo 2012 - These guys are a killer black/thrash band hailing from Toronto. Definitely check out this free, downloadable promo for their upcoming EP!

Deceptor - Chains of Delusion - This is some pretty interesting thrash from the UK. Check out the EP when it comes out on Shadow Kingdom records in early 2013!

Both of our writer's have released their year-end lists! I did a top 10, and Lister did a top 20.

My list: http://skullfracturingmetal.blogspot.ca ... -2012.html

Lister's top 20 Part 1: http://skullfracturingmetal.blogspot.ca ... -2012.html
Part 2: http://skullfracturingmetal.blogspot.ca ... 12_14.html

Screamer - Phoenix - This is some killer traditional heavy metal from Sweden. These guys deserve a lot more recognition and I think they are going to become huge soon!

Short review for Abominable Putridity's "The Anomalies of Artificial Origin". It's not great, but if you like brutal death metal, you'll definitely enjoy it.

Orden Ogan - To The End - I have Empyreal to thank for introducing me (and many others) to this band. This is some seriously enjoyable power metal in the vein of Blind Guardian. Fortunately for us, it's much better than Blind Guardian's recent output!

You should look into Vale, their second album. It's by far their best.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely check into it.

Also, we should have a new review coming in the next couple of days of a band that I think people will really enjoy!

Attic - The Invocation - This is some serious Mercyful Fate/King Diamond worship! I've never heard anybody try this sound before, and Attic definitely got it right!

Insinnerator - Hypothermia - This band is definitely one we love to promote at SFM. Their new EP Hypothermia is a riff-tastic thrash album. Definitely buy this album, along with their debut, "Stalagmite of Ice".

Holy Grail - Ride The Void - These guys are back with another killer album! It isn't quite as strong as the debut, but there are still plenty of cool songs!

He could surely be great for that album too, but I want to keep the projects as separate as possible so I need another singer really :)

Heavatar - Opus I - All My Kingdoms - This is a new project featuring Stefan Schmidt (Van Canto) and Jorg Michaels (Stratovarius, Running Wild). They have some fairly memorable songwriting and incorporate a lot of different power metal sounds into one album.

Hatriot - Heroes of Origin - This is pretty much Tempo of the Damned part II. It isn't identical, but it's about as close as you can get to that album. This one is definitely a buy!

Corsair - Corsair - Some very catchy heavy metal/rock for fans of King Crimson, Thin Lizzy, Legend, (early) Manilla Road, etc.

Coldsteel - America Idle - An old-school thrash band is back from the dead to give us some very enjoyable tracks. Think Xentrix (For Whose Advantage) on this one, but it's even still unique compared to that.

Even better - I am right now trying to get a live line-up together, possibly make them official members so that I don't have to do everything myself hahaha

Astronomikon - Dark Gorgon Rising - Middle-eastern flavoured power metal from Cyprus.

Also, we're starting to do a lot more updates in terms of posting news and lists and other cool stuff! Feedback is appreciated!

Stratovarius - Nemesis - My most anticipated album of the year was a bit of a disappointment. This is still classic Stratovarius, but it doesn't quite reach the heights that "Elysium" did.

We are very proud to present an interview with Troy Norr from Coldsteel! He covers a lot of ground about the history and future of the band, so definitely read this interview: http://skullfracturingmetal.blogspot.ca ... steel.html

Also: Denouncement Pyre - Almighty Arcanum - Killer black/death from Avstralia

Voivod - Target Earth - The Canadian thrashers are back with an album that sounds like it came from the Killing Technology/Dimension Hatross era! If you haven't heard this yet, be sure to give it a listen!

Helloween - Straight Out Of Hell - I'm blown away. This rivals (maybe even beats) the amazing "7 Sinners". This is an immediate buy!
