This user could use a reminder on how to add session and live members properly, rather than adding them as band members credited as "sessions drums" and "live guitars" then reporting the changes.

He's not at all a point whore but adding band members as lyricists on additional staff is kind of pointless and exaggerating. Plus, he has added wrong song title, 'Over You' which is 'Over Now' actually.

Adding links to band members' personal Facebooks on the band pages, as well as managing to have three links to the same Facebook page, all labeled differently, on Fingernails' entry.

The artwork of the upcoming APHND album isn't available yet. But this user already added it. Azmodes once gave me a heads up about not adding albums without official artwork, so I thought it's better to post here than to report.

Where I live, prostitution is not illegal. Still, I'd like to bring up this user for pointwhoring: http://www.metal-archives.com/users/setimofilho88. Adding lyrics one by one on albums of 陰陽座. (Doing so since Dec. 28th, 2012.)

A bit old, from 2011, but this user added a non-existant label "N" to this album when the correct label was mentioned in the additional notes. It appears to be the band's own label as it released all of their stuff and only their stuff, just with "Russian Division" tacked on the end.

User changing tracklists to incorrect lengths: http://www.metal-archives.com/history/v ... /id/293925

See also: http://www.metal-archives.com/report/vi ... 6/show/all
All the sources there check out.

Even more embarassing, it looks like those incorrect lengths are from someone spinning a 45rpm record at 33rpm.

That was about 15 months ago, but I still directed his attention to the report. Funny about the wrong RPM, though.

Banned for that, as well as trolling the band queue. :p

Heh? What's this, a label of labels...? I'll send him a notice...

aloof fucked up the tracklist here by deleting titles yet didn't even provide evidence for his report on it.

She (?) does it again here

http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Au ... ood/358441

She replaces bonus tracks by "-" and adds them in the notes...

If they are featured on the original version of the release they are listed as part of the main tracklist, bonus or not.

ah, ok. useful distinction. so the Audrey Horne tracks should be re-added? I apologize for the f-up.

No, since they seem to only come with the limited edition. The issue was with you leaving "-" blanks in the tracklist instead of just deleting them altogether.

aloof wrote:

Don't take the title to heart. This thread is effectively about any kind of perceived user wrongdoing.

but I couldn't delete them (I don't see a delete option in my editing panel.) that's why I take this to heart, because I get warnings and point-whorings for not doing something I couldn't have done... :)
I had the "right way of doing things" explained to me via pm now, so everything's ok -I guess. I can go back and re-add the titles on the swan christy demo if it makes any difference.

Also, is it OK to have links to Vibrations of Doom now? Online RealAudio streaming site.

Aloof, the fact that you added Gray as an alternate spelling for Grey implies that you are of the point hussy variety. I normally wouldn't care, but this is the first band that I ever added to the Archives and I noticed this in the revision history. Why do such a thing? Might as well add the alternate spelling to every single release containing the word 'grey' throughout the archives. This is really not a big deal, but I'm on 30 hours of no sleep and everything is a big deal when you are hallucinating.

Rabidmadman, as you're probably sleep-deprived and on edge (don't worry, I know myself what that's like, having had way too many waking marathons myself :p), you're probably forgetting that adding the Yanklish spelling of English words IS considered an acceptable practice for the ANS field.

E.g., if an American thinks to check out Grey Waters and can't find "Gray Waters", they're not going to find it in the search results...

I will spend the next 96 hours modifying every release containing the words 'gray' or 'grey' to include the US and standard spellings. Gotta do something about that metal newbie status, ya know?

Alright, calm down, people. As Al said, adding English spelling variations to the AS field is perfectly alright. It's a simple, obvious way of making bands easier to search for.

this user:
http://www.metal-archives.com/users/Metal%20Pakistuf

is adding some wrong alternative spelling, such as Helloween to Halloween, or Black Sabbath to B.S.

I guess you should warn.

EDIT: also some lyrical themes (added by him) appears to be wrong.

the plot thickens: the offending alternate spelling was removed, following a report being filed. I don't mean to linger on the story per se, but I am honestly confused with regards to the validity of (me) adding it in the first place. if I was "officially" wrong to do so, I'd like to know so I can apologize and (mainly) not do it again.

Your name properly describes you. ;) No worries.

From here:
Quote:
09. What about American vs International English for band names that might be entered differently?

-You can add it as an AS. Foe example, Demonise for Demonize and The Organisation for The Organization.

Whoever reported/removed it was wrong to do so. Could you link the report here?

I removed it. I assumed that the field was used for previous names or variations of a name of a band and not a helping hand for Americans or English who can't spell a bands name. ;)

My bad!

Alright, I hope everybody is now aware of what is allowed in that field and what isn't. If not, check that thread Sly linked.
