Check it out! It's an amazing album. I reviewed it a while back: http://www.metal-archives.com/reviews/X ... cal/21252/

Awesome song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bh7DmUCQ-Qo

Another awesome song, probably my favourite off the album. Never really heard another band sound like this. Starts at around 40 seconds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8Gt-ibBmsQ

Wow, thanks for the links. Beach Boys and death metal... before hearing those songs I would've said that combination would never work.

Gonna have to be Entombed (though I haven't actually listened to Swansong), though I do prefer Uprising and To Ride... than I do Wolverine Blues. The former has this great punky energy to it on tracks like Say it in Slugs and Come Clean, while the latter is just fucking fun.

That Xysma definitely sounds interesting! While we are at the crazy Finns, let's not forget Pakeni:

We might as well also remember Disharmonic Orchestra for their second and third albums. Death/grind 'n roll.

Yes, the most outstanding track on this CD.

However, best Xysma track for me that grabs me everytime:

I'd actually throw in Pungent Stench's 'Club Muondo Bizarre' as one of the better from a relatively small genre. When I think of it, it comes in second place after Wolverine Blues. That one is even more twisted than Convulse.

There are a few good songs on that Pungent Stench, and the lyrics are uh, fascinating, but most of the album is pretty dry and dull for me. The riffs often aren't that great ("Klyster Boogie", "True life") and I wish there was more speed. However, holy hell "Choked for a Joke" is an amazing song...

Entombed.

Carcass had one Death n'Roll album, Swansong, but were not a death n'roll band and Wolverine Blues is just superior to Swansong.

Entombed were Death n'Roll all the way on every album.

Xysma and Pakeni both rule.

In fact, I just got Pakeni's Detergent Bubble Bath and TRIED to write the one and only review for it on this site, and for some messed up reason my review was rejected.

I worked hard on it so I emailed Hellblazer to try to ask him why it was rejected so he could give me some constructive criticism and he never emailed me back.

I know my review was better than some that are on here where the reviewers cant even speak proper english.

I still have no clue why they rejected it.

I was under the impression that not too many reviews on this site actually get rejected at all, but maybe I was wrong.

I'm no moderator, but lots of reviews get rejected, man. The site has decently high standards for quality. I'd estimate that more than half of the reviews submitted get rejected, so don't feel discouraged. I recommend heading over to the Reviews Discussion forum and posting your rejected review for feedback.

I've given that Carcass album more chances than the last Slayer album. I just can't get into it. I'm going with Entombed on this one.

Didn't you get a rejection note? If not, something went wrong. Try to re-upload it if you still have a draft or a copy.

Ok, I have to admit to not having listened to Left Hand Path, so I spoke to soon, but they were MAINLY a death n'roll band, more so than Carcass.

Of course the answer is Xysma, but since they weren't in the question, the answer is Entombed. Mostly for Wolverine Blues, Hollowman, and To Ride...

I'm absolutely overjoyed to see how many other people appreciate Xysma in this thread! My old band used to cover 'Nice Pale', along with a few other Xysma songs. I was pushing for 'Upon the Hill of Desecration', but we never got around to doing it. Haha.
