Yeah, it's! But this place is in danger because a big exterior port is supposed to be placed there (now the port is inside):

Those links I provided are trying to protect the place.
Let's see what happens but I won't wait to visit the place and take loads of photos and videos!

P.S: Awesome pictures, Forestcorpse! I'm waiting for the rain to stop to go to the snow too.

Thanks. Not at all though, I'f I see beautiful scenery/landscapes I just take lots and lots of photos hoping that a few will turn out nicely - and they usually do. For example with the Grampians ones, I was doing a 4-hour hike and probably took a hundred shots.

it's funny aye when you go for a hike you're there for the hike and the photos are perhaps just an 'afterthought'
i find if i have my camera with me i tend to look more at the scenery trying to find a thing worth snapping rather than just enjoying the walk and the scenery.

oldish photo of the auckland museum at night with some cool lighting, i think it's anzac day related [red]

Cool to see some shot's of oz, can't believe i lived in melbourne and never went down that southern coast road!a really different sight to all the grim winter landscapes that are predominantly posted on here

And to dreadmeat

I admire your efforts to get a good landscape photo in auckland, it wouldn't be easy!

I do the same (just not as much but... the same idea).

I use to take shoots quite naturally as I walk but I suspect I ALWAYS take the same type because of it.

I really like this shot. A mixture of old and new debris really gives it that feel which Fallout: New Vegas had.

The entire town of Rhandsburg looks like this. Deserted warehouses which have been long since abandoned. Amazingly though, there are still a few people who live there. Also, I wanna hit that storefront with a paintroller sooooo bad. Too bad it's right off the interstate :annoyed:

 Nah, that would be an old graffiti technique. Like all the huge bombs you see alongside the LA river, warehouses, high-rise projects, and sometimes on freight trains. There have been so many movies filmed around here, I wouldn't be able to tell you.

@inhumanist: Wow that's amazing. What lens did you use? Let me guess it ranges between 250-300mm? It seemed like you left the shutter open for quite sometime. I'll try my hand at this when I see the moon next.

Standard 18-55 mm lens. I'm not so big at spending money. What I did was take two photos, one where the clouds were visible and the moon was overexposed and one where you could see the moon's structures, then edited them together.

Haha, it sure does. Good editing skills I suppose then :) I'll try my hand at what you just did. And yeah, I don't have enough money to get new lenses and it can be really pointless as well. I have the standard 18-135mm lens. I'm still surprised to see the details you got with that lens. If you have your exif information, do you mind sharing it?

Oh, I just realized I took those with my old camera which wasn't a DSLR, so you can ignore my previous statement about the lens. That one had an integrated zoom lens. Anyways, here's the exif for one of them (can't find the other one for some reason):
