Well Winter NAMM started the other day, so I felt it's only appropriate for us gear nerds to talk about the new stuff being unveiled there.

First and foremost, Pearl is bringing back the Export line to replace the Forum line.

My inner Pearl fanboy is squeeing with delight at the Export being brought back.

The new Peavy Vyper sounds quite cool, the violin emulation sounds pretty useful. The King Korg sounds like a blast, but I won't be able to afford one of those anytime soon.

The King Korg was just a 'meh' for me. What I'm excited about is seeing more analog synths on the market! I had an inkling we might see something from Korg but I had no idea they were going to recreate the MS-20. That is really exciting and at 700 bucks I'm pretty much already sold. Just look at this thing:

The new Moog 'Sub Phatty' (fucking seriously guys. Quit naming your synths 'Phatty') looks nice as well. The panel layout is sweet and it sounds great- I'd be really interested to play around with it and see exactly what this 'multidrive' feature is all about. From what I can tell it does sound quite good, though I'm not sure if it would be worth the money when my band already has a Little Phatty in the studio.

And of course, Dave Smith introduced the Prophet 12. It's drool worthy, but at 3000 it's unlikely I'm gonna get my hands on one anytime soon.
