I've been into thrash metal for quite a few years now, and while remaining humble, I know quite a bit about the genre. However, i've come to grips that there are some people that just simply have been in the game longer and know more bands than me. Lately, my favorite finds have been:

1) Anacrusis - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YfgwCqQmvY
2) Stygian - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIhn0z44nC4
3) Aspid - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ubz5MNiPPNc
4) Deathrow - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJrEZj8w3eQ
5) Obliveon - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgYSs9clDDs
6) Xentrix - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MT4KJc0xths
7) Annihilator - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWMiSNM9VLc
8) Mekong Delta - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rd8u8xTf_Q0

I already know about bands like Vektor, Voivod, Watchtower, Realm, Toxik, Coroner, etc.
Can anyone recommend some bands that I may not have heard of or listened to? I would appreciate it largely! Thank you.

Skeletonwitch
Warbringer
Pestilence
Atheist
Exmortus

There is a good chance you know most of these if not all but it was worth a try

Know all of those except Chemical Breath...I'll have to check into them. And im mainly looking for progressive and technical (please, no Rings of Saturn wankery), and the only bands that you mentioned that fall into that category are Atheist and Pestilence. Thank you, though!

Yeah you will probably like Chemical Breath
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqR0JrKZ2TE

They are tech thrash metal. That song is from their 1992 album fatal exposure.

Known of Hexen since 2009 when they first released 'State of Insurgency', just checked into Cautiva and Chemical Breath! Both VERY cool bands! Thanks guys.

Heathen and Artillery are the obvious recommendations that came to my mind but as you probably have already heard of them ill try a bit harder.

Taramis its a great progressive/technical speed metal band in the likes of Toxik and Watchtower (mainly) with lots of high pitched vocals and crazy rythms, I prefer the album "stretch of imagination" as i find it more powerful but many people tend to praise "queen of the tieves" a lot more. Here´s a little taste.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zU8VV0i4l30

Target was a totally outstanding Belgian technical speed metal band (one of the finest from that country imo). What makes them so great is the awesome sci fi lyrics and the amount of catchiness of their songs, intrincate but still catchy. Their album Master Project Genesis is a total jewell, totally recommended.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nl4mf2kQy9E

Amboogalard was a progressive/avant garde thrash metal band, crazy creepy stuff. I find their first (an only) album A New Hope haunting and powerful, an incredible band in their own terms.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLfOq5gSyuY

Simple Agression was (is?) a thrash metal band with strong experimental/progressive influences, kinda like a thrashy faith no more or something like that, not sure if this is what you are looking for, but still interesting progressive thrash.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSCK3ehEjBw

Heres a more "classic" recomendation, the allmighty Paradox. Probably you have heard of them, but still, they deserve to be remembered with one of the finest thrash albums ever, "Heresy" .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olQy6exMemc

There are a lot of great bands in the vein of what you are looking:

Airdash

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3PUldkCcVc

Acid Reign (Obnoxious album) sounds kinda lik AJFA Metallica

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GokF6K3V9fE

Hexenhaus (no need for description i think)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzYQC1ZSDPU

and so on...

DBC
Acid Storm
Antidote
Wargasm i guess can be considered somewhat "technical" depending of your criteria.

many thrash bands born in the late 80s tried a progressive/technical way

GREAT recommendations Ian!!! All of these bands are interesting, to say the bare minimum. Taramis and Target are instant favorites. The only bands I am very familiar with on your list are Hexenhaus (I have all their records) and, as you worded it, the almighty Paradox. I think "Tales of the Wierd" is hands down the best release when it comes to oldschool thrash bands in 2012 (better than Megadeth, Testament, Anthrax, F&J, etc.)

The debut of Hellwitch is worth checking out if you like some death metal along with your tech thrash.

Another awesome find I've managed to claim is Dyoxen! These guys are so criminally underrated that they don't have ANY reviews whatsoever. Check em'!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2y7-nUZI ... ture=share

These ones are new to me and sound pretty promising, thanks!

I'll add Corum who remind me a bit of 90's Mekong Delta (but more cohesive and thrashy), Maelstrom (kind of a progressive Dreamweaver-era Sabbat with more of an epic/power vibe), Butcher (lead-centric neo-classical thrash), and Skitzo (classic higher-pitched American tech-thrash; from New Jersey, not to be confused with the Bay Area Skitzo).

Astharoth from Poland is quite unknown but rather decent. I wrote a review for their LP: http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/As ... ments/6500

Heathen

I've been really into this style of music for the past year or so. Here are some that I didn't see mentioned yet:

Teleport - Galactic Usurper (new band, Vektor-inspired): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PHjWozSrQ4

Martyr - Endless Vortex (more on the technical side of things): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdIykpAtA-I

Grip Inc. - Hostage to Heaven (drummer from Slayer, with some technicalish guitar): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_xxabnLqZc

Despair - Rage In Eyes (tech thrash with a symphonic intro): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdA-SLvGCoo

Alitor - Embittered (new band just starting out, but decent tech thrash): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0f5F8IsKys

Exmortus - Left to Die In the Paradox of Time (mentioned before, but this is my fav song by them): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_Q-xhIphIY

Sieges Even (progressive thrash from the 80's, high-pitched vocals): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwDeRV4-Jh8

Invocator (tech thrash): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cyGnaPhI_8

End Amen - World in Decay (progressive thrash, i like most of this album): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBBbF1JsfZY

Imperium - Chemical Dreams: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umwBiV593oA

Paradox - Heresy (progressive thrash metal with classical guitar): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olQy6exMemc

Forbidden - Parting of the Ways/ Infinite (maybe too obvious, more on the speed metal side though): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J54E_U7J71w

Spiral Architect (progressive, technichal... thrash?): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDQ_WOJRb3c

Sorry if I've listed any repeats!

I want to say thank you OP for Stygian. Only one I didn't know from the first post, fits into my list of sci-fi tech thrash favorites nicely. Very good stuff.
