Stick with that album! I'd say "Tentacles of Whorror" is probably the greatest black metal album I have ever heard.

NP: A Forest of Stars- A Prophecy for a Pound of Flesh
A Shadowplay for Yesterdays may very well be my favorite album of the year and I only got around to just digging into it yesterday.

Anorexia Nervosa - Worship Manifesto

Didn't really test the qualities of my new headphones I got for christmas yet... so what better album to choose than "Redemption Process" to make up for that? The beginning of this song always makes me recall a line from the movie The Dark Knight: "Some men just want to watch the world burn!"

@ThePoop: Great song, easily my favorite from the album. Especially when the ambient passage starts and there are only the drums accompanying it... pure magic!

Mercenary - Redefine Me, off The Hours That Remain

Talk about a band who's carried by the vocalist! Not that I'm complaining though. I really like this album, even if it's just ear candy for the most part.

Outworld - I, Thanatos

Man, why couldn't the whole album in this vein. Most songs on this album have their moments but are full of dull, lifeless riffs. This song is absolutely amazing however - the grinding riffs, atmospheric keyboards and soaring vocals combine perfectly.

Actually, I find that whole album to be very boring, I, Thanatos included. There's just nothing that jumps at me save for Kelly's vocals. Now that I think about it, I have never heard Kelly being backed by actually interesting music (Beyond Twilight's novelty wore off rather quickly). Quite the shame, really, because Carpenter is an insane singer.

Fozzy - Wormwood, off Chasing the Grail

Against all odds, I like this.

Outworld are decent at best - but you're right that Carptenter deserves better though. He's indeed an amazing singer yet he was always the best member of each band he's been in.

NP: Circus Maximus - Glory of the Empire

First time I'm listening to this band. I should hear more by these guys as this aint too bad at all. The vocalist actually reminds me of a better James Labrie in his early days.

Yeah... I'm often stuck between that or Negura Bunget's Om (each completely different monsters in their own right). So many black metal artists write about misanthropy, depression and hatred, but I'd argue that no other album let's you feel those themes with the music alone as strongly as Tentacles.

Good choice with BAN btw. Many people are bummin' about Cosmosophy but I like it as much as the other two of the trilogy.

Manilla Road - Out Of The Abyss

Underrated gem. Overshadowed by the other albums, and also the fact that it is so hard to find.
