Hey guys! It's been a long time since I don't post here. How are you doing?

Lately, I haven't listened to Metal that much. I'm listening to indie/hipster/whateveryoucallit stuff atm and I haven't been into the new/upcoming releases of this/next year.

For this year, I just got these records:

Spoiler: show
- "Denouement" by Abyssal (UK)
- "The Giant" by Ahab
- "Les Voyages De L'Âme" by Alcest
- "Only The Ocean Knows" by An Autumn For Crippled Children
- "Yellow & Green" by Baroness
- "The Devil's Resolve" by Barren Earth
- "Cyclopian" by Cyclopian (They've disbanded not long ago)
- "Drought" by Deathspell Omega
- "Dar De Duh" by Dordeduh
- "L'Enfant Sauvage" by Gojira
- "Eremita" by Ihsahn
- "The Weight of Oceans" by In Mourning
- "Ubuntu" by Kälter
- "Years Past Matter" by Krallice
- "Theatre of Deception" by Obscursis Romancia
- "The Writing of Gods In The Sand" by Wildernessking

Which is a pretty "low" amount considering other years. So, what do I want you to do? I want you to name your favorite records of the year so I can check 'em out!

Also, I would be nice if you can name your upcoming favorite releases of this year or next one. As far as I'm concerned, Cult of Luna is releasing a new record on late-January, Carcass is releasing a new record too next year and so is Altar of Plagues.

So, if you can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Cheers! :)

There's 1 month before the end of the year, lets wait till then to make a thread for 2012, also this will be lists, lists and lists, so meh. I'm sure you can explore the metal scene and discover what you missed yourself, do your homework.

I don't see anything wrong with lists. Sometimes, that's all I want.

lists are great, when they include the genre and a youtube link

Shameless plug:

In all seriousness though, these are the albums I'd most highly recommend, from everything that I've listened to that's come out this year.

shameless plug from myself as well. I've covered a bunch this year, check out my blog. I also loved Abyssal's debut, happy to see people are checking it out.

Exactly. This is the primary metal hub of the entire internet. It's not always a good idea to waste time with a bunch of description that most people don't even read.

Just give me the band, song, album, genre, and a link. I can take it from there.
