So I recently was given a bunch of buttons by a friend. I know most of the bands, but not all of them. I'd appreciate if anyone could help me decipher the ones I don't know.

These are the buttons:

Wow, that's a great collection of badges.

15 is The 3rd and the Mortal. I'd love that badge!

23 is Unholy

29 could be This Mortal Coil? It's similar to one of their album covers.

31 is Griftegård

38 could be Esoteric, the cover of the Epistemological Despondancy?

29 is definitely Dead Can Dance, not This Mortal Coil. I always get those two bands mixed up!

Yeah, definitely their Into the Labyrinth album art. Thanks.

Added both to the original post.

41 was bugging me, I could swear I'd seen it before, and I was thinking it was one of those many Kabbalah-inspired sigils that metal bands seem to be taking up. But no, after some reverse image searching, turns out to be a German goth rock band very much in the style of the aforementioned Fields of the Nephilim; they're called Garden of Delight and they're not too bad!

Here's a very outdated geocities cache page, you can see the emblem at the bottom of each album cover:

I was right, 38 is definitely Esoteric, it's the inside of the Epistemological Despondency booklet.

http://moole.ru/uploads/posts/2009-08/1 ... -cover.jpg

Just 30 to go. It looks familiar, but I can't place it.

Yeah, he's a good friend, heh. I've been collecting band badges, so he tossed these my way, which was pretty awesome.

I'm thinking balbulus was right and that its supposed to be Esoteric's Epistemological Despondancy. Though I'm not entirely sure.

I'm 99.9% sure of it. One of the band (the drummer I think) did all those illustrations by hand, so they're not stock images taken from anywhere else. I met them around that time (I auditioned as guitarist!), and I saw some of the actual drawings.

balbulus, I added Esoteric to the list. I'm sure you're correct on that.

So that just leaves one more to figure out, heh.

These badges are for sale on ebay from this guy:
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/buttonsvillebu ... gesandpins

I bought some of the ones above, plus some others (he offers a "mix and match" service). They arrived today (with a couple of extras!).

Still no info on that unidentified logo (no. 30)?
