CORROSIVE CARCASS (Sweden) "Composition of Flesh" CD review by http://www.canadianassault.com

Image

By Patrick

Nothing like listening to some good ole old-school brutal Swedish death metal to get the adrenaline going is there? Apparently the musicians in corrosive carcass feel the same way and have created some of the Best and heaviest Swedish death metal to be hard in some years. As soon as you hit the play button to listen to this monster of a release of you are instantly hit with heavy, thundering drums fast whirlwind guitars that are equally as heavy as they are fast. The vocalist fits the music perfectly with his deep vicious growls. Fans that enjoy early Dismember, Entombed and the more rawer Swedish style bands will love Corrosive Carcass I know I can't wait to hear what these guys put out next.

SOUTHWICKED (U.S. / Europe) "Death's Crown" CD review by http://www.canadianassault.com

Image

By Dale

Southwicked are Floridian death metallers featuring one of the founding members of the movement in one Allen West. You know that guy from Obituary, Massacre and Six Feet Under. I seen one review say this album is super similar to the first Six Feet Under record, I would not really know as I honestly never tried to get into that band. As for Death’s Crown it is some solid death metal that is a cross between a muted, less awesome Obituary sound mixed with the Swedish death metal sound of old. The combining of those two on paper actually sounds pretty damn exciting to me. I love Obit and worship old Swedish death and you know this is a pretty good album, but really that is all it is, just pretty good. I guess I was just expecting a little more with that sound mix and having it involve Allen West. Maybe I project unfair baggage and expectations Mr. West, but that sort of comes along with him, whether he likes it or not, the price of being a legend in the genre. If you can keep your expectations out of the sky where mine were I think you will probably really dig this album. It is certainly growing on me bit by bit with each new listen. Still has a ways to go to get to great album status for me though.

BANE (Serbia) Interview by isk

Image

By Borjana Nikolić

American label Abyss Records will issue the second of November seventh album Serbian death / black machine BANE simply titled "The Acausal Fire". The band's early October gave his farewell concert in Tuzla, Sarajevo and Belgrade, and then went to bed. Fortunately, it is not eternal, but it will take a while Branislav, founder of the band settles in Canada. A short but sweet interview was supposed to be released before the farewell concert, but what you will not get answers ... in time.

Do not forget, we are currently "The Acausal Fire" can be ordered by an ultra-cheap price of five dollars as the effective discount Halloween Abyss Records. Dig in!

Regards, Branislav! I want to thank you in advance for your time, especially now that they are preparing for the farewell concerts. You recently held a mini-tour in Bulgaria where you are, among other things, introduced the new album. As the last step in? In what cities have introduced "The Acausal Fire"? The audience happy?

In Bulgaria, it is always a great pleasure to play. We were in Sofia, Varna and Burgas - indeed, all three shows were fantastic, and I went to the audience just as pleased as I bend.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has already had the opportunity to hear from you this year during the third edition of the Sarajevo Metal Fest. Just before the advent of priružio you drummer Mark Gačnik from bands Festival of Mutilation, After Oblivion and Forensic Clinic. How did this collaboration? How he found it difficult (or easy) to catch up with you?

Goran [Salković], SMF Promotions representative called us to play, but we did not have a drummer. Then he proposed to ask his friend Mark, and the man agreed to not play the concert. We simply figured out what it says on the first, and only then is it logical to continue our collaboration. By the way, Mark is the best extreme metal drummer in the Balkans, claim it responsibly, so we had some difficulties to tighten everything.

How difficult it was to maintain this cooperation, given that Mark lives in Sarajevo?

Since we are not able to have a rehearsal in one place together like most bands, we're serious about this and practiced individually, so this was the solution.

Were you satisfied with the response of the audience at the Sarajevo Metal Fest 2012? What are the expectations regarding the upcoming gigs in Tuzla and Sarajevo?

Generally we have always been delighted Sarajevo, so I do not doubt that there will always be great.

In Tuzla, the band will perform as Mephistopheles band support, in Sarajevo, Bihac death / grind band Duat. Are you already familiar with these bands?

With Duato we have shared the stage and the band can really boast and say that the ultra-extreme, and I only heard of Mephistopheles, but I've never listened to their works.

Going back to "The Fire Acausal" BANEov second album. Would you explain the meaning of the name?

Black flames, just what some individuals have within themselves and can be maintained.

Could you let us know the details of the new album? Where is "The Acausal Fire" was filmed, when, how long did the recording process, who produced the album ...?

The album was recorded in a studio in the Czech Hellsound, produced by great musicians and my long-time friend of the band Honza Sunroof Avenger. The whole process took about ten days.

The album features guest appearances and Nocturnal (Shadowdream / Ancient Sorrow) who was a guest on "Chaos, Darkness and Emptiness," Butcher (Avanger), Patrick (Anachronaeon / Eyecult) ... How did this collaboration?

These are all friends with whom I like to cooperate in every way. I'm also a fan of their music, so that the cooperation with them all come naturally, without any hassle.

Who took care of the look of the cover? Is hiding some symbolism behind it?

Abomination Imagery. The guy who comes from Indonesia, brilliant man, a lot of talent. I think that the artwork is clear enough. Who has understood the point, he realized.

We've heard that a break in the work of Bane. How long will this last break? What is it all about?

I have no idea how long it will last break, but time will tell. The thing is that I'm going to Canada. I'm moving there because of his private life.

What can be expected of Bane in the future?

Nothing specific, we shall see ...

Thanks for your time. All the best for the future Bane ...

Much obliged.

DAEMONICUS (Sweden) "Deadwork" CD review by http://www.greekrebels.gr

Image

By Angel "Kilmistered"

The Swedes (Sormjole, Vasterbotten) deathsters Daemonicus, formed in February 2006 and have to their credit three demo, an EP and two full length albums. Four months after their formation, they released their first demo "Demo From Hell", on the symbolic date of 06/06/06, and the lyrics refer to zombies and opposed to religion in general. The Deadwork is the second full length album of the band consists of ten tracks. Very good album and at several points reminded me Bloodbath, little Asphyx, Entombed touches and old schoolila generally. It is a serious and solid circulation, standing decently in other species and their stink 'Souidila' from mileage. We know what we hear, because they do not play anything special - as regards innovation - but certainly our view through their own style. Very good production, which showcases the volume of tracks and their robustness. Worthy. The 'Deadwork' was recorded separately and what I mean by that ... The Fenix Recording Studios was recording the drums (Johan Hallback) and CCHB Studios, recorded the guitars (PO Wester, Jorgen Persson), bass (Martin Pudas) and vocals (Stefan Hagstrom). The production was done by Daemonicus and Krille Englund and Krille Englund was the sound engineer. The mixing and mastering, done by Ronnie Bjornstrom of Enhanced Audio Productions in Garageland Studios (Umea). The artwork is the work of Daniel Devilish, while the booklet artwork are responsible Stefan Hagstrom and Henrik Olofsson. The band printed thirty thousand colored cards - double sided - and sent hundreds of work samples, magazines, zines and other "formula" to promote her work. From 'Daemonicus', stood out in particular "Nothing But Death".

Rating: 7.5/10

BANE (Serbia) "The Acausal Fire" DIGI CD review by wickedchannel

Image

By Mike

The Acausal Fire is the latest offering from black metal band Bane, and much like their prior album, Chaos, Darkness & Emptiness, they do set a very nice atmosphere within their music. The listener dreams of icy mountain tops and desolate lands while engulfing themselves within the aural assault that is a Bane release. Taking influences from bands such as Dissection, Lord Belial and Dark Funeral, Bane is obviously a very accomplished outfit from the musical side of things.

My main beef with Serbia’s Bane is that bands have been doing this, and doing this better, for a long time now. That is not to say that Bane is doing it wrong, because both The Acausal Fire and Chaos, Darkness & Emptiness are more than solid releases. Production-wise, Bane is a little more polished than most black metal outfits while trying to retain some of that classic black metal charm.

Now that I am off of my soapbox, like I said before, The Acausal Fire is more than a solid effort songwise. Tracks like The Truth Unleashed Final and Light the Black Flame are unrelenting and impactful from many different angles. Musically, Bane is up to the challenge that they have set forth to conquer and vocally, they are ahead of the pack from a lot of other black metal bands out there. Whether the vocals are sharp and raspy and deep gutteral screams, they are well up to the task.

While The Acausal Fire is not perfect by any means, it is more than solid and easily worth a spot in your audio collection, even if just for the powerful track World of Desolation. I am having a hard time, not hitting the back button to relisten to this one over and over again. The vocal melodies are performed amazingly and the guitar riffs have a tone to them that seems to stand above the other tracks.

In addition to World of Desolation, I am utterly hooked on Night’s Blood. The opening is intense and the riffwork leading into the verses are practically thrash metal at its finest. While the song does head back into the more familiar black metal tones of Bane’s typical tracks, the thrash elements remain to revitalize the track.

The GARDNERZ (Sweden) "It All Fades" CD EP review by metalyze

Image

By Chief Rebel Angel

The Gardnerz play a mix of death and doom, and this aesthetically beautiful hand is the band's second. Maybe it's not really an EP, promomaterialet talking about it as a mini-album, but it feels like it's niceties.
6 songs get, and almost all are rather long and sweeping, initial duopn "Do not Look Back" and "A Horrible Disease "clocks in at 7-8 minute piece so it is overall not the time to complain about mäöngden music be served.
"It All Fades" is on the whole a pleasant experience and acquaintance, I think. The band does a lot of contrasts in the songs - it toggled bisvärmsriff and guitar picking, and the middle of it all you get a very brittle cover of Dark Thrones "Transylvanian Hunger" - all with the result that there will be a varied and diverse listening.
Okay, it's not always perfectly. It works in ä'rlighetens name battery on a track like "Melatonin" with its melancholic features than it does with talk singing over guitar picking on "A Horrible Disease", but it's never completely way off.
First track "Do not Look Back "is one of the better ones on the album, and the ending is the best. "Erasing Bad Specimen" is the dealer's position, I would say, and this hits the tape completely correct in their mix of epic and the aggressive death and doomanstrukning actually remind me of Candlemass or a band Novembers Doom!
band itself then?
They do a good effort, I think. The guitars have the right sound, and timing of delivery of riffs (good by Wilhelm Lindh), Francesco Martin (bass) and Vedran Benčić (drums), the band gives both driver and spine, and I must give credit to Niclas Anchor Brandt growl. His rensång might not scratch my best always, but growlen fits like a glove.
wrapper also, it should be mentioned.
Neat, epic, signed Daniel Johnson: http://danieldevilish.wordpress.com/ . Good:
You can find the band's website here: http://www.thegardnerz.com/biographyband.html . Makes it, I think. The Gardnerz is, despite its fairly dassiga name, a pleasant acquaintance!

BANE (Serbia) "The Acausal Fire" DIGI CD review by occultblackmetalzine

Image

By OccultBlackMetal

Bane are a band from Serbia that has been featured before in this zine with a musical style I would describe as being fast and aggressive sounding atmospheric black metal with a death metal edge and this is a review of their 2012 album "The Acausal Fire" which was released by Abyss Records.

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music at times, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful tone with heavy riffing that dominates throughout the recording, as for the synths they are only used on the outro and they bring a dark and atmospheric sound to t he music.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that capture atmosphere without using synths and keyboards along with a great amount of dark sounding melodies and death metal influences being thrown into the riffing, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding black metal guitar solos and leads, as for the acoustic guitars which are only utilized briefly they use full chords and finger picking to enhance the darkness that is coming out of the music.

Vocals range from deep blackened death metal growls and high pitched black metal screams as well as a brief use of clean singing, while the lyrics cover satanic, occult, dark, violent and hateful themes, as for the production it has a very strong and powerful sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.

In my opinion this is another great recording from Bane and if you are a fan of t heir previous efforts, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The End Of Humanity" "World Of Desolation" and "Nights Blood" which is a Dissection cover. RECOMMENDED BUY.

DESULTOR (Sweden) "Masters of Hate" CD / LP review by pestwebzine

Image

By Adrian

"Masters of Hate" might seem a pretty bold title for a debut album, but maybe these guys are really that confident in the music they throw to the World, and I wouldn't say they are wrong about it. These 35 minutes seem to be carefully crafted in order to build Desultor a strong name in the scene; 11 tracks, 2 of them instrumental, a mix of Progressive Death Metal, Modern Thrash Metal, Black Metal and occasional Groove Metal influences. The combination of Extreme Metal instrumental with Nevermore-like type of melodic vocals and the variety presented on this album are real winners, Desultor seems to be a name to remember. I can honestly say the audition of this album was a real delight and to me it seems only the starting point to an important Desultor saga. The sound is crystal clear, no objections whatsoever, but the cover artwork does no justice to the contents of this CD, I'm sure many kids won't even look at it in a shop, it's too random to attrach any glance... If you read this and you're into Progressive Extreme Metal, don't miss this album!

BANE (Serbia) "The Acausal Fire" DIGI CD review by metaldisciple

Image

By George Washburn

Bane is a black metal band from Serbia and “The Acausal Fire” is their second album.

The first thing I notice about this album as it begins playing is that the production sounds very good, particularly given the style they are playing. I have not heard of Bane before, so I assumed they would have a low-budget sound reminiscent of 90s black metal. I stand corrected.

The second thing I noticed was the similarity in style to Dissection. “Storm of the Light’s Bane” is one of my all time favorite 90s black metal albums, and these guys play in that style, only with better sounding production. To drive that point home they close out “The Acausal Fire” with a Dissection cover of “Night’s Blood” from “Storm of the Light’s Bane.” Nice touch.

“The Acausal Fire” is definitely the surprise of the day. Based on the name and band photo I was expecting some kind of middling quality death metal, yet here I sit enjoying some quality black metal. All hails to Bane on a job well done. I hope this album will get the attention it deserves.

DAEMONICUS (Sweden) "Deadwork" CD review by http://www.hardcity.gr

Image

By Δημήτρης Λάζαρης

It needs a huge inspiration to create an album that after so many years are able the classic 90s Death sound to be sounded so fresh and original convincing you that you're dealing with something new. It sounds a bit oxymoron, doesn’t it? However, it is, but in the case of DAEMONICUS is something completely normal!

The element that makes the sound of 90s sounds so natural and authentic after two decades of life, is the fact that they manage to narrow the rawness of the sound by adding some new elements into their music from the nowadays genre.

These three Swedish guys manage to revive the old and authentic sound of the 90s through their second full-length album that will make you be amazed by the excruciating mid-tempo, original death-metal sounds.

What primarily excite the listener of Deadwork are its unique riffs. The duo of PO Wester and Jörgen Persson is explosive and on this album, their performance surpasses the limits of imagination. Majestically standing on DAEMONICUS’ compositions are giving us some great riffs through songs such as “The Grandeur of Total Termination,” “We Feast on Your Flesh” and my own favorite “Blood Red November.”

Johan Hallbäck is remarkable for the numerous rhythm breaks, his incessant energy and creates an excellent mix of techniques that gives to his work an irresistible charm. If we add the marvelous work that Martin Pudas done on bass, we understand that the rhythm section of Deadwork is truly astonishing.

The new album of DAEMONICUS will fascinate you. It is one step below in rawness compares to the album of 90s, but the technique of the band members coming into proper dose, creating one of the best death-metal albums for 2012. It’s an essential album to any fan of the genre, new and old.

ENTRENCH (Sweden) "Inevitable Decay" CD review by http://www.metalcrypt.com

Image

By Michel Renaud

As I was looking up the information on this band, I couldn't help but wonder if there's anyone in Sweden who is not in a band (never mind the fact that most people outside metal circles think the only Swedish music band that ever existed was ABBA)... But back on the subject at hand. Entrench is – surprise! – a band playing old school Thrash. Formed in 2005, they actually had some five demos before releasing this first album. Now that's a bit more unusual nowadays (a lot of bands seem to be skipping the demo part completely).

Behind the colourful cover art you'll find some mid-80s Thrash, pretty much German style. Raw for decent production, harsh, screechy Thrash vocals that would be a turn off for fans of cleaner Thrash (such as old Metallica), but those who had a thing for Kreator and Sodom back in the day will eat this up. The music is as raw as one as can be expected for the reference period. Fast, kind of messy – in a good way – and devoid of any crappy gimmick. Fast grinding guitars, somewhat catchy galloping moments, and some more "melodic", kind of apocalyptic-ish passages that give some songs kind of a dark vibe. The drums are sometimes drowned a little bit, while at other times they can be heard very clearly.

I won't surprise anyone when I say that Entrench are not innovating the genre. In recent years we've been going back to "fluff-free Thrash that works" instead of trying to experiment in a genre that doesn't adapt all that well to outside influences. Suffice it to say, it's old school, and it works.

SOUTHWICKED (U.S. / Europe) "Death's Crown" CD review by http://www.voicesfromthedarkside.de

Image

By Nat Shapiro

The good old dirty south; America’s very own backyard of double standards: zealous Christianity on the surface, and a vibrant, sometimes violent but always debauched underbelly. From this underworld came bands like OBITUARY, MASSACRE, DEICIDE, etc. But while those bands were from the south, none of them announced their geographic origins. American bands as a whole never really hopped on the geography bandwagon - typically Norwegian Black Metal bands promoted their origins that way. True, there’s nothing specific about SOUTHWICKED. They could come from any number of southern cities. But they’re an American Death Metal band and I think, obviously, they have the south in mind when they write. If you like OBITUARY, you’ll dig this release. Allen West lets his guitar sing and it sounds great. But, good as this is, one could easily call it a forgotten OBITUARY album. Songs like the title track, ‘Death’s Crown’ and ‘Craving For Blood’ will induce the headbanging response, yet they will also leave you thinking about “The End Complete” and “Cause Of Death” and how West’s solos on this album sound so much like his older work. In addition to the inescapable OBITUARY element, some signs of SIX FEET UNDER appear, such as ‘Killing Spree’, which sounds like a left over song from the “Haunted” sessions. However, OBITUARY’s presence dominates nearly every aspect of this album. Just listen to ‘Graveyard Of Bones’ and you’ll see what I mean. So, if you’re a fan of Allen West, OBITUARY, and early SIX FEET UNDER, you’ll most certainly enjoy this. I know I did. http://www.facebook.com/southwicked, http://www.officialabyssrecords.com

ANGREPP (Sweden) "Warfare" DIGI CD review by aristocraziawebzine

Image

By Mourning

The Swedish Angrepp occur in guerrilla-style with the debut of "Warfare", the album itself reflects the heritage primordial rude people like Hellhammer and Bathory combined with the attitude of the last black'n'roll Darkthrone or crust of Horned Almighty of "contaminating The Divine", with the addition of some reference to the sound Satyricon of the medium phase in then with respect to the groove. Quite a cauldron that show interesting and equipped with a charging pleasure seeking high that already by opening bars with "Five Horned Formation" takes development. In "Legion Arise" punk the vein becomes irrepressible creating a gait brewer and engaging, the mixture of black alternate solutions and varied excursions from the combo sound that puts in place do nothing that make the disk thin, thrash is the foundation on which everything revolves, but the difference is the tinsel chosen from time to time. 's so that "Dead And Destroyed" pays tribute to Motorhead to a break that leads to his inside the figure of Satyr, the riffato is black and seems to come from the last work of the Norwegian duo, which will happen in "Rape Kil, Rock'N'Roll" the most music-oriented in that direction, "Firebrand" and the title track itself "Warfare". A platter straightforward, unfussy but as often happens divide audiences into two camps: those that "black is black, do not play with rock and punk in the middle", one wonders what kind have heard so far given that the world of which they are proud of a wealth of masterpieces that use styles mother and seconds accused of "open-mindedness" and fashion will enjoy the work of Angrepp with the right attitude: raising jars, scapocciando and twirling the fucking head to the rhythm. I do not see best and most suitable for this with so much adrenaline in the body! Black? Thrash? Punk? Rock? I call music and when you have the possibility to hear played and composed so as to play its role as it should you can not help but be pleased. Nothing new on the horizon, but that's cool.

FETUS STENCH (Sweden) "Stillbirth" CD review by deadvoiddream

Image

By Paul Caravasi

Fucking death metal band from Sweden, they have that unique sound, violent skullcrusher band, many influences from Nihilist, Dismember and Carnage. In 2012 it is difficult to find something so brutal and direct to the brain, it surprises me a lot, very good production, all fans of nasty death metal will enjoy this CD .Unique distorted guitars that will destroy your neck from doing circular moshing, very good approach, no matter if you heard this style before, the important thing is to find bands that maintain the strength of the bloody death metal. An excellent album that should be heard. If you really consider yourself a metalhead, give this band a try. Get your beers and enjoy this excellent lethal work.

NOCTIS IMPERIUM (Venezuela) "Nihil" CD EP review by azm-magazine

Image

By The Doorway To

Ah black metal done the way it should be powerful with a touch of Avant and Death metal thrown in for good measure this South American Blackened force has Nick Barker (Dimmu, Cof, Lockup , Old Mans Child and now Testament) playing drums for them that is kick ass in its self and this band is very much love in with the Dimmu/ Old Mans Child sound of Epic Black metal and do any amazing job at making it sound fresh and inspired with is not an easy task in 2010. NIHIL is just an Ep up a few upcoming and older tracks and if its going to sound this good as a prelude to what is to come then Noctis Imperium you have nothing but a bright future in the extreme metal scene.

CHAOSSWORN (Sweden) "Chalice of Black Flames" CD EP review by azm-magazine

Image

By Absolute Zero Media

Oh my dear brilliant sounds in all of metal. Why does this just have to be 3 tracks long this reminds me of all the amazing melodic Black Death that came from Sweden and Germany over the years. Hypocrisy, Dissection, Naglfar, Unanimated and Edge of Sanity.. The guitars are almost perfection to my ears people the vocals are death mixed with that blackened cry.. The bass and drums are just massive and fill the room with sound.. The songs are epic and apocalyptic all at the same time. Chaossworn are masters of there craft. I really miss this sound and am so glad to have a band like this do material on this level. With Chaossworn there is a darkness that is back to the odd tones and ice feel to the rhythms. Abyss Records we need a full length from this band ASAP....

BANE (Serbia) "The Acausal Fire" DIGI CD review by http://www.crossfire-metal.de

Image

By Daniel Müller

Bane come from Novi Sad in Serbia, founded in 2006, are only from 2007 to 2009 to over ice. Then followed relatively quickly three split EPs and two full albums. This is album No. 2, which begins with a symphonic apocalyptic, dark intro. This is followed by a fast, melodic guitar, which makes me think immediately of Swedish black metal. Mörk Gryning occur to me spontaneously, perhaps Dark Funeral. The production is light and thin, but Bane gives the necessary evil spirit that can only get this kind of music has something to contribute. Of the Serbian origin is to be felt. Bane definitely sound like a Scandinavian band. The hoarse vocals moves more into death metal realms, while the music melodic black metal in its purest form is. In addition to high speed and machine gun moderately fast double bass, there are also many nice lead guitar, as experienced on the above bands very well knows. Filling the gap can not be found. The album sounds like a uniform and completely convinced. My highlights are but "The End Of Humanity" and totally reminiscent of Dark Funeral "As chaos Rises" with its evil monk choirs in the chorus. Bane is really totally awesome!

Rating: 9/10

DAEMONICUS (Sweden) "Deadwork" CD review by http://www.deathdomain.com

Image

By CÄ

Sweden’s Daemonicus once again return to the crime scene; this time with their second full-length effort since the start in 2006. We’re talking old-school death metal, the Swedish way, somewhere in the borderland between Grave (“Into The Grave“-era), Edge Of Sanity (“Unorthodox“-era) and Necrophobic (“The Nocturnal Silence“-era), yet with a refreshingly youthful touch. Having been a sucker for this type of death metal since its glory days, I must say this is very much to my taste. Tracks like “The Grandeur Of Total Termination” and “We Feast On Your Flesh” stand out as downright death metal hits, with their meaty, mid-paced heaviness and catchy melody-work, in the guitar-department!

Sound-wise, I think the production fits the music like a glove, giving it that filthy, yet easily accessible environment, in which the music is allowed to grow and reach its full potential, without ever losing its nasty edge.

Taken as a whole, “Deadwork” very much struck my fancy, with its blend of passionate riffing/song-writing and well thought-out, overall formula. It’s definately a step up from their debut and with that said, I look to the future of Daemonicus with confidence!

BANE (Serbia) "The Acausal Fire" DIGI CD review by http://www.greekrebels.gr

Image

By Angel "Kilmistered"

For tainiofilous and lovers of comics, the word "Bane" is reminiscent of the super-criminal "bad" and enemy hero Batman, which recently saw the movie in cinemas. For fans of metal but the "Bane" is a name many bathrooms (quite popular, so;). We now talk more specifically and therefore will refer to the Serbs (Novi Sad) Bane. So far they have played at several European festivals and concerts in Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Bosnia - Herzegovina, and have shared the stage with bands like: Sodom, Malevolent Creation , Decapitated, Inquisition, Dornenreich, Agrypnie, Cor Scorpii, Svart Crown, Root. Write lyrics for hatred, contempt, hypocrisy and play an aggressive, staccato, and gamistero atmospheric black metal. The vocals of course (why Branislav Panic - guitar, vocals - o who was at the forefront Disdained playing technical death metal), deathizoun bit but not so foreign in our ears because fortunately fit musically, with the remaining packet. I refer specifically to their new work "The Acausal Fire", which is the second full length release, after how many EP, demo and split. The songs are pretty good, the production is high, while the followers of the school of Dissection, will be delighted to hear Karga successful adaptation of Bane, in "Night's Blood". In the album there are also two instrumental tracks - apart from the cover and the remaining seven of their own - a total duration of forty minutes. They set the bar high, slowly and steadily.

Rating: 8/10

DAEMONICUS (Sweden) "Deadwork" CD review by Battlepig

Image

By Battlepig / Claudia

Was hören meine Metal Ohren hier?

English translation:

A further production from the house of Abyss Records saw in October 2012 the light of the day. I am talking about the Swedish band DAEMONICUS who want to to take their cd "Deadwork" under the Metal folks.

What does my Metal ears hear here? Swedish Old School Melodic Metal. Compact, partially halting melodic riffs cohere with Death Metal sound frameworks. These vary from mid tempo through to the upper mid tempo area. Thus the songs receive a lot of energy and animation. Energetic and going forwards it goes at "Deadwork" flat out! Powerful doubleblast drumming reinforces this impression. Supported by distinctive growls develops here genuine Swedish Death Metal with no ifs, no buts. The listener gets a litle bit time to be a biteasy on his neck muscles by the variable use of tempi (For example at the song "The Hymn Of Ubo Sathla") in order to continue headbanging with highspeed the next moment. Recorded technically adept you realize here that it concerns at DAEMONICUS of no novices. DAEMONICUS manage it to carry the Old School Death Metal sound of the 90-ies into the year 2012 and to sound as well fresh and not outdated. Thereby they develop a familiar sound which nevertheless owns sufficient independence not to end up as plagianism. I can only recommend DAEMONICUS!!! Buy "Deadwork". It's worth it!!!!

BANE (Serbia) "The Acausal Fire" DIGI CD review by http://www.zwaremetalen.com

Image

By Clemens Sheep

After a long and epic intro which I strongly Cradle of Filth reminds the crack black / death-violence Bane loose and after seven songs unfortunately stopped again. Then follows the outro and we are still Dissection -cover presented. Not entirely coincidentally a cover of this band, because the whole album breathes the atmosphere of that band. I do not mean that Bane lacks a unique identity because that I would give them justice. The singer does have a recognizable and therefore easily scream in the house and his vocals are varied. Other plus points are the compositions because they are well constructed. At the right moment grabs the belt back on a previously played riff without the predictable or the CD halfway collapses. If during Ash Chaos Rises clean vocals are used, I just think that the Emperor -direction. This is clear not so bad and luckily Bane enough originality in the house.

There are also less good sides? For me though. That's the sound of the snare very shrill and rather dominant towards the drums as a whole. Further, the bass drums too much treble. This is the drum sound is sometimes difficult to follow. Another downside is that the band has a tendency during the instrumental pieces in which a solo sounds, the tempo down screws. The fact that it is not boring and predictable is mainly due to the small number of minutes on their own tracks.

Abyss Records has a great band and they called Bane . Hopefully they will not be confused with their American and Filipino namesakes. Bane deserves the support from the underground. Do you feel that you are part of it then you know what to do.

The GARDNERZ (Sweden) "It All Fades" CD EP review by http://www.thebreathlesssleep.com

Image

By Paul

It may sound like a cliché, but It All Fades , the last work of Swedes The Gardnerz , not a disc to use Death and Doom Metal, and surely never intended to be. The hardness and heaviness that could be expected from such extreme intermingling genres are shared equally with the progressive metal innumerable passages that appear throughout these 36 minutes of material.

"Mixing slow and heavy distorted riffs with melodies and clean, try to create our own kind of Metal. Taking influences from the musical spectrum, but maintaining a solid base of Metal. " This band defines the sound of his latest work, the second since the band was formed in Sweden in 2008. It is in this 2012 when the U.S. company based in Indiana Abyss Records , decided to produce this short form consists of six topics that might involve an advance on your musical style next predictable length, its resumed The System Of Nature 2011.

With respect to the current disc All Fades It is anything but simple and repetitive work. This is evident especially with the work that has been carried out on guitars, where in topics assigned to open the album, Do not Look Back and A Horrible Disease , they are responsible for carrying the weight of the progression of the and songs that introduce the most progressive of those who spoke before, surprising and giving a more drawn to the sound of the band. One example is unclear what course the cut A Horrible Disease , with excellent guitar work by the Wilhelm Lindh in using clean guitars that arpeggiated melodies evocative. As a perfect accompaniment to this dual character that the Swedes give the guitars on this record, is the versatility of vocalist Niclas Ankarbranth , who also splits his work between scraped and guttural voices, with paragraphs that just sounds more cleanly . These aspects are not random and are clearly intended by the band to create a versatile sound. Like two sides of the same coin.

After these first two issues, we come to Ecuador's EP with what is undoubtedly one of the great surprises and successes of the disc. At the tail of the second cut will happen the first notes of the next, until the beautiful voice of singer Paulina Strihavka utters the words "Transilvanian Hunger" . So, would that have an extremely trained ear and why not throw a lot of imagination to identify this with the depths of black metal that Darkthrone boasted such a mid-nineties. Cuesta get an idea of what would happen in the minds of these four Swedes to be decided at the classic versioning this way, and also give a result most perfect. Imagine the same melody, the same poetic lyrics, but Borrad of your mind anything metal end and leave only a female voice accompanied by two electric guitars with a totally clean sound: as a result will have this wonderful version. In this tribute, of course crucial participation of singer Paulina Strihavka, who also works on the title track to the album, and with his sultry voice gets colder fall for the moors and gloomy obscurantism. Topic that deserves a review on its own, but I will conclude by saying that the Hunger Transilvanian The Gardnerz is a very intelligent majestic turns of the screw to classic one of the major figures of the Norwegian black.

After this parenthesis returns the standard pattern of the eponymous album It All Fades , that occurs with heavy and forceful tone. Again we Strihavka Paulina's voice, this time to the chorus. With his operatic singing style gives the gothic touch to the subject, without neglecting the base course Doom.

The last two cuts, Melatonin and Erasing Bad Specimen , help me to focus on paragraph lyrical EP, whose theme revolves around philosophical questions of human beings, the lifestyle we lead, and the establishment of religion as a power dictatorship that has been manipulated by man since the beginning in order to control the nature of human beings. As an example, the second paragraph of A Horrible Disease, which reads as follows: " A long gone now teaching / learning Raped By A greedy men / Who now uses it for Their Own sick / And distored needs ".

Perhaps, if I had to sum up the feelings that leave this It All Fades with a single image, choose their own album cover, which has been borne by Daniel "Devilish" Johnsson (Malfeitor, Daemonicus). Not for originality, since it is still a cover to which we are accustomed, but the sinister background with the remains of what looks like a civilization doomed to disaster, alongside a landscape that is beautiful in my opinion. A contrast to the hair that comes to define the sound of the album, a mixture of toughness and beauty at a time, with spaces that explore deeper and darker territories of Death / Doom but leaving a loophole to hope.

CORROSIVE CARCASS (Sweden) "Composition of Flesh" CD review by http://www.undergrind.net

Image

By DISCORD

Corrosive Carcass had its struggle with finding the right genre and came to the shores of Death Metal, and not without succes. Composition Of Flesh is the first full length of these Swedes and offers some great underground Death Metal rawness.

Sounding mainly like older bands, Corrosive Carcass is quite simply part of the revival of Old school Death Metal. Composition Of Flesh is a very stormy and wild album that comes through as rough and sharp. Dark when it comes to riffs and laying down lots of hammering speed on drums.

But the most characteristic thing in Corrosive Carcass’ sound are the vocals. Deranged and derailed the screams and howls launch themselves at you, bringing out the best in Composition Of Flesh.

For such a fairly unknown band I have no doubt in the future success of Corrosive Carcass.

Final Verdict. Two Thumbs up.

BANE (Serbia) "The Acausal Fire" DIGI CD review by http://www.metal-rules.com

Image

By Mark Ashby

This is the second album from Serbian black metal trio Bane – or Ban3 as they are sometimes referred to, and it has been almost three years in the making. Their debut, ‘Chaos, Darkness and Emptiness’, came out in early 2010 which characterizing the band’s somewhat stop-start career to date. With a brief career, which now may be at a premature end as founder/frontman Panić has now emigrated to Canada.

Both lyrically and musically, the album follows the same nihilistic route as its predecessor, and once again draws heavy influences from the Nordic and Scandinavian exponents of DM, however, with a few notable exceptions they do not do much to progress beyond the obvious roots of their own sound (for which the inclusion of the Dissection cover as a needless bonus track is a more than obvious reference point).

The songs are well-written and in the case of the likes of ‘As Chaos Rises’ and ‘Light The Black Flame’, which dominate the middle section of the opus, very well so – and very well performed with the right balances of light and shade, blastbeat and subliminal symphonics, and their use of twin guitar harmonies is very effective, with Panić’s vocals by turns as evil and as ethereal as they need to be, all enhanced by an efficient if somewhat workmanlike production.

If this album is indeed the end of the road for Bane/Ban3, it would indeed be a pity, as it displays a lot of potential for a new rising force in the blackened death metal sphere: if it is their legacy to be remembered by this farewell, then it is a fitting one…

DAEMONICUS (Sweden) "Deadwork" CD review by http://www.metal-rules.com

Image

By Ashlinn Nash

Sweden is known for its exports of extreme and death metal with acts ranging from Opeth, Soilwork, entombed, Vomitry and Amon amarth among them. With the current climate circulating this, Daemonicus are a welcomed addition. The band have a impressive building block back catalogue such as "Demo from Hell", "Demon Inside" and "Swarm Of Death" all demo’s which began the formulating process for the bands unique sound that has become solidified on "11th Hour" Ep [2011] and latest release "Deadwork”.

The album begins with ”A dead work of art” that has the strong pro-pullsion of traditional death metal, with vast similarities vocally to Tom G Warrior and bleak vocal themes to match the deep desolate guitar style. As the album however goes on the speed, increases with velocity that sounds more like Death mixed with their own sound, that really comes together during ”Embracing her remains” Which is sublime. With Stefan Hagström’s vocals really coming into their own along with the intricate guitar duality of Persson and wester that bounce off each other fantastically.

“We feast on your flesh” is a true highlight for the bass lines of Pudas, that are for-fronted along with the incredibly drums of Hallbäck, the track really brings the album together. “The Hymn of Ubo Sathla” and “From Alive to Dead Life” are two complimentary songs that enrich each other as one flows into the other mid-album.

The last portion of the album opening with “Blood Red November MDXX”, explores the more guitar diversity blasts through quickly as another jump starter of “Inhabited” which has the signature mini-guitar solo over the adrenaline assault of drums. “Nothing But Death” and “As Extinction Came” finish the album with the same heavy to the bones style of playing that ends on a high note when the final track ends, you feel exhausted due to the bomb blasting speed of the album.

RADIATION SICKNESS (U.S.) "Reflections of a Psychotic Past" CD review by metalasfuck

Image

By Dan Bond

Deathcore originals return...for the first time.

Formed back in 1987 by lead vocalist Doug Palmer, Radiation Sickness released a number of demos, EPs and split vinyl with uncompromising deathcore spirit during a fertile period up to 1990. Despite the six releases bearing their name the band split in 1992 before they had recorded a full album and during the recording of EP three, just as things seemed to be gathering steam. Two years after reuniting the sickness is back and a quarter of a century after starting things off they finally have a debut album, Reflections Of A Psychotic Past.

For a band 25 years old and clearly heavily involved in the scene it has the sound of the early grindcore creators. Heavy comparison can be made to British bands Carcass and Napalm Death with chugging guitars, the frenzied drums and pained lead vocals mixed with the unhinged free flowing energy of hardcore punk. All pulled off with chaotic panache.

What at first glance looks like a herculean effort of 19 tracks for this first release, this is not entirely true. The first seven tracks are brand new; songs of desolation and pain like I Stand For Nothing and The Place Where People Die as if the band is still traumatised by the suicide of original bassist Ryan Rollins in 1989. Palmer growls and strains as if on his death bed or one breath away from an aneurysm trying to keep up with Kevin Gibson’s hectic drumming and the guitar attack of Tom Ball and Byron Holton.

The remaining 12 are a remastered version of their 1990 EP, The Other Me – Journey Into Insanity. This is where the money is. Those who were not around the first time now have the chance to soak up the rapid-fire bang-bang-bang of that early work reigniting the excitement of the early days of the scene. The aggressive energy, fists rolled into balls and punch shit vibe from ex-guitarist Ricky Callaway’s stop-start riff on Ruthless and The Stooges-esque Escape To Insanity.

There is nothing terribly new here in terms of the deathcore landscape although it is a pleasure to revisit the early work and it blends well with the new tracks. It is almost impossible to tell the difference between the two eras. Think of Reflections Of A Psychotic Past as an anarchic showcase that serves as a mere taster for what might be to come now that they are back.
