Wicked awesome, I wanted to do a black/white/red vest too but ended up doing black/white/grey instead. Those God Dethroned and Dissection patches are gonna end up a little out of place though, aren't they?

Am I really gonna have to be the one to say it?

I think all red/white/black is kind of boring/uncreative, TBH. :oh shit:
In all fairness, I don't really care for super neon-puke color all over everything look either.

Perhaps I am just hard to please... I'm not super-happy with my own jacket either, really.

Anyway, no one knows where to get a Flames logo patch? :(
I'd be fine with a simple monochromatic design, even.

Thanks! I was supposed to do a black/white vest project, but its hard because some of the band logos I wanted to include in my vest isn't available in white so I ended up with black/white/red vest. Aaaarrrrgggghhh =), The God Dethroned patch should have been red, but the seller might have mixed things up and sent me the wrong color, and I was unsuccessful in looking for a White/Red Dissection patch, so I ended up again with this blue one. My vest just wouldn't be complete w/o a Dissection logo, so I decided to go for it.

I have Motley Crue and GNR patches on this one. Both because I like those bands and to annoy elitists.

2BFAIR: I don't think being an elitist has anything to do with the fact that Motley Crue just kind of sucks. ;)
I am more or less indifferent to GNR though... WHICH MEANS THEY SUCK, OF COURSE. :)

Nice work so far. One thing I've wondered for awhile though: does Antediluvian's logo actually say "Antediluvian"?

Dunno... you can kind of make out an A at the beginning and an N at the other end, but as for the rest of the letters... shrug. Awesome Villains patch by the way, Bruitiste.

The Weakling patch is very cool. What's the one in the bottom left corner?

Thanks, the hardest part about the Fear of God one was picking the design, they have a ton of cool variations of their logo, many were tempting.

I haven't done anything interesting to my vest in a while. Tried my hand at stenciling this Vitus logo on. The cross got a bit botched and the purple wasn't as light as it needed to be but I think it's fairly rad for a first attempt.

Nice work!
I tried stenciling Hammergear sign on the back of my leather jacket, but fucked up really bad. Ended up erasing it, which naturally damaged the jacket.

I'll post mine if the second attempt is successful.

See, the thing is that I have no motivation to get into them other than I kinda like their logo. I've listened a bit to Cojete a Dios por el Culo which I got in a vinyl trade, but it really doesn't do much for me.

I found that in searching for a Flames logo patch [ http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Flames/11532# ], and I thought it was funny, so I decided to pass it along. It doesn't even make sense... Are Korn a Power Metal band now or something? IDK...

Anyway, I had no luck finding a Flames patch, so does anyone know if there are any out there in the world?

Thanks.

OMG im so adding this to my new Dubstep vest im making :p

What are everyone's opinions of iron-on patches here?
I've got a couple of them and I'm not sure whether I should sew them on anyway, just to make the whole thing seem 'even', because all my other patches are sewn on.

I don't trust those fuckers. My (admittedly epic) Immortal backpatch is ironed on, but some corners just won't stick, so I sewed them on manually. I mean you could pull the whole thing off quite easily if you wanted to. I've also got a Queen and a Nagelfar patch where it's even worse.

The ironing-on actually only helps with sewing them on. Still, as with non-ironable, you can simply use pins to attach them.

They can't do ones that are too complex though... for example I tried getting Vasaeleth and Heresiarch too among others.

Oh, I know them, but I figured that the Weakling logo maybe were too complex for them to do, so I thought it was someone else.. Well, at least now I know what they can do!

I actually use glue spray for that. Works pretty neatly. Reminds me, I have to buy a thimble.

I have a patched trenchcoat, and it's generally punk patches and not metal ones so I dunno if I should post it, although I do have a massive Slayer patch on the back. I want to add more patches to it, I was thinking of replacing the Slayer backpatch and replacing it with a Darkthrone one (them being my favourite band and all), then adding some sludge metal patches (ever seen EHG patches? They're sick!)

I've patched my pair of combat pants too :P

Anyone know someone who can do more complex patches than over-zone? They tried with my band's logo but were unsuccessful so I need someone new. Preferably small batches.

Anything particular I should bare in mind while sewing on those patches with no border around them? - to avoid them fraying, and such. The edges seem to be sort of "melted" but I don't know if that's enough.

If they have enough space, fold over 1/4" or so on the edges and iron it so it stays under, then sew through that.

The design comes right to the edges in parts of it, unfortunately - hopefully my excessively thorough sewing will keep the thing alive.

On a side note, some of the ones WITH edges, I take a lighter to those and singe the loose threads to keep them from unraveling the whole thing. It's possible you could reinforce the "melted" parts using this method, I dunno. You have to be careful not to set the jacket on fire. Ha ha.

Im working on getting a black vest because this thread has made me wanna get one :D Not sure where to get it from though... found this..
