Just looking for some prog-ish thrash with maybe a little black metal influence?

Realm is great techincal thrash. might help you... not much black metal influence at all, more towards watchtower to a degree... also Spiral Architect for right up for watchtower.

I can't promise you any black metal influences, buuut...

Agent Steel's last few albums are might be right up your alley. You may also enjoy Ulysses Siren, though they've released very little material. And you can't say "proggy thrash" without mentioning Toxik.

Some Anacrusis, perhaps? Progressive thrash, often mentioned in the same context as Watchtower. There aren't really and black-metal influences, but they were the first band I thought of when I first heard Vektor's vocals.

Also, I think all of their albums are still free downloads (?)

Check out
Assessor - Invaze (1990) - Search on YouTube to sample the album, it is absolutely an overlooked gem.
Atheist - Piece of Time (1989)
Mekong Delta - [ALL] - No black/death influences here, but progressive all the way.

Thy Nature might work for you, progressive thrash featuring Sadist members and the occasional black and death metal tinge.

Although i don't think they are completely similar, i do get reminded of Vektor when listening to Skeletonwitch.

The Key from Nocturnus is pretty similar in the voice and some Black Metal riffs, amm Anacrusis and Artillery.
Being And Nothingness from Hexen really change the Neo-thrash that they were playing into Proggy Thrash.
I'm searching the same any good band could help.

Perhaps not exactly what you're looking for, but Pestilence's debut actually reminds me of Coroner's first album at times.

Check out Dark Millenium, technical death metal with some raspy blackish vocals and space/wtf lyrics. Their album Ashore The Celestial Burden is worth checking out.

DBC was (is?) a progressive thrash band full of space imaginery and Voivodish sound, their album Universe is fucking awesome.

Obscura, maybe not so close to Vektor, but extremely technical and progressive death metal with space/wtf lyrics.

Teleport, a young eurothrash band its damn similar to Voivod, Coroner and Vektor, check out their first demo Galactic Usurper, really nice stuff.

Target was a progressive speed metal band from USA, their album Master Project Genesis is damn fine.

Sieges Even ?

Their "Life Cycle" album is very much in the vein of Deathrow's "Deception Ignored" with a touch of Watchtower.

Hmm let's see... although the only tech thrash band i can think of with a black metal esque feel is vektor, i can name some sweet tech thrash.

Hellwitch-crazy floridian tech death/thrash, their first album fucking slays.
atrocity- their second album (tostten something rather) is purely tech death, but it sure as hell has the techy vibe you're seeking.
obliveon- i know someone mentioned nemesis, but i was always personally a fan of their debut "from this day forward", which i regard as probably the best of the genre.
Believer - actually, a christian technical thrash metal band, they're incredible as all fuck, definitely worthy of a solid listen.
Keeper of dreams- amazing modern day tech death/thrash reminiscent of death's prog/tech outputs.
defiance- they put out a sweet techy thrash album.
Acid storm- relatively unknown tech thraah with a sweet prominent bass.
After oblivion - modern day tech death/thrash that sounds so much like death, it's not even funny! Soooooo damned good.
That's just a few, hope that helps.

You may be interested in Depressive Age ('First Depression'), Dyoxen, Calhoun Conquer ('Technical crossover'? Maybe), Annon Vin, Kinetic Dissent (Cults of unreason DENY!), and the pretty unique Bulgarian band Sider. Omnitron are an excellent band, really out-there in their own way. For female vocals, Ice Age and Aeons End may be worth a look, with the latter having a bit of USPM-ish and prog influence. Usurper's 'Divine Spiritual and Intellectual Development' may also be up your alley. Some very good recs so far in this thread, though.

Doom from Japan play a style similar to Voivod and Vektor. Progressive thrash at its best.

Give Section Brain a try. Quirky prog thrash, though not very black-ish.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5asNuEx-1XU

Oh, and Mutant are a new band that are pretty technical.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiNBFRK2zK4

Children are highly bluesy, but their riffs are spectacular. It would be hard for a fan of tech thrash not to like them. My favourite new thrash band after Vektor.

Black Fast sound pretty damn good. I hear bits of Coroner influence in them; on the melodic side especially during the lead parts and brief runs, but a consistent amount of mid-tempo swagger, nice audible bass playing, and while the vocalist seemed a bit "modern" initially I got used to him quite quickly. Thanks for the post Markov.

32 posts and no one has mentioned the best "Coroner" like band yet????

Try out Sentenced - North From Here. Absolutely killer combination of Coroner and Atheist (their one and only release in that style).

Seconding North From Here - in addition to being a great album, it's also exactly what the OP wanted. I just wanted to add that these albums might be of interest:
1988 - Destruction - Release from Agony (after line-up changes they got even more technical at this point of their career)
1988 - Blind Illusion - The Sane Asylum (the song "Death Noise" was already about 10 years old! - if you can believe that)
1989 - Annihilator - Alice in Hell (totally subjective, but I think it's their greatest album)
1990 - Atrocity - Hallucinations (their second album has been rec'ed, but this one is worthy as well)

North From Here was a great (semi-)recent discovery for me. I was of course quite familiar with the existence of the band, and think that I even heard one or two songs from that album previously, but never realized the tech-thrashy influence on it until recently.

Since Atrocity's Hallucinations has been mentioned as well, I think Thalidomide (skip to 2:53 if impatient for tech-death/thrashing goodness) needs a mention. Despite having only one full-length from 2003, it's very much in a product of the thrashier tech-death pioneers full of great angular riffs and even a bit of neoclassicism, as well as some darker doom-influenced passages ala early Anacrusis, and the raspy Petrozza-style vocals are fairly rare in tech-thrash as well. Their '93 and '95 demos are damn good too, not quite as progressive but maybe even a little better riff-wise.

Holy shit, Mind ashes are great, thanks Helvede. This is some grade a stuff here.

As for the op, you can check out maelstrom's (US) demo, 'This Battle to Make History, Yet History Never Comes' a good listen. Tech thrash with a rather theatric vocalist (No black raps here, sorry) But the five songs are certainly some of the best in the genre.

I didn't see Bezerker mentioned. High quality progressive thrash from Australia. They released one album in 1989. Very much in the veign of stuff like Watchtower.

Not like the bands in your topic unfortunately, and not very progressive, but you might like it. Their material tends to vary for their genre, and it's both blackened thrash.
