Hey!

I've been searching for the lyrics of Isengard's song "Vinterskugge" for a very long time. And I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't exist on the web.
At least, I can't find any information about it. And it's pretty fucking hard to figure out, despite that i'm from Sweden and work in Norway sometimes.
I'm planning on doing a raw ass cover of this song, and i'm almost completed tabbing out the whole song. But I need the lyrics to continue.

So does anybody know the lyrics, or can understand them well enough to write them down (a Norwegian maybe?).

Thanks alot, cheers!

You'll face a problem anyway, most of Fenriz lyrics in Isengard lack sense to begin with.

I remember someone uploaded the lyrics for Hostmorke in youtube (search vids with the lyrics on the description).

Why not try to contact Fenriz?

I tried to have a listen to the song, but it's impossible to make out all the words. Especially when he tries to sing in a dialect which he doesn't have.

It does not exist on Youtube. It does not exist on the web. Peaceville does not have the lyrics.
Getting in touch with Fenriz does not seem like an easy task. The best way is if someone understand what the fuck he's saying.

Did you even try to contact Fenriz? I'm sure its not as difficult as you think.

No, I have not tried. I do not know how to get in touch with Fenriz. And Peaceville Records couldn't help me either, and that's the only way I can think of getting to Fenriz.

You guys have any suggestions?

Doesn't his Band of the Week thing have a Facebook page?
When people still used Myspace, I think he actually read his messages there, so it wouldn't be out of the question that he replied if you sent him a message/e-mail.

He has only published lyrics for a few of the songs. Buy the albums and read them for yourself. Høstmørke only has "Neslepaks" and "Thornspawn Chalice", for example.

Being a Norwegian, I usually have no problems making out lyrics in Norwegian songs, but I can't for the love of me figure out what Fenriz sings on Vinterskugge (the song), only bits and words.

Well, do you really need the lyrics? You could try to just repeat the sounds he makes.

The result would be pretty pathetic.

so, these aren't official transcriptions? (I guess the square brackets in "I Kamp Med Kvitekrist" make that clear :ugh:

I would suggest 2 things:
- contact Fenriz
- re-write the lyrics yourself in order to play an adapted cover.

Anyway, if it's an "emulated" cover, it won't sound interesting (except maybe for yourself).

Can you make any sense of lyrics on Ulver's 'Kvedssanger' album? Would be nice if someone could update those very lacking lyrics we have here at MA.

Those transcripts are actually not that bad, but I guess I should offer some corrections. In Ord, it's supposed to be "bør", not "maa", and in Kledt i Nattens Farger, it's supposed to be "prillarhorn" not "prillahorn". Other than that, it looks fine. Garm's voice is also very clear, unlike Fenriz' on Vinterskugge.

The last song, Ulvsblakk, is another story. The only coherent sentence I deciphered was at 01:05:

Ulvsblakk, igjennom luften
den i natten faller

One thing I noticed on MA is that the song titles have some mistakes when it comes to what letters to capitalize. Here is a track list as I read it from the back of the CD:

Østenfor Sol og vestenfor Maane
Ord
Høyfjeldsbilde
Nattleite
Kveldssang
Naturmystikk
A capella (Sielens Sang)
Hiertets Vee
Kledt i Nattens Farger
Halling
Utreise
Søfn-ør paa Alfers Lund
Ulvsblakk

Yeah, that was actually mostly the Ulvsblakk track I was thinking. Thanks. If you ever decipher it, let us know, so it can be corrected.

Another one, the last track on Ved Buens Ende - Written in Waters album? Lyrics are seemingly printed wrong in the booklet. Would be nice to have the correct ones here.

Yes, actually; this is really the song I've always wondered about...

What would you do?
What would you say?
If you were going to die today?

Edit:
Haha, he's actually saying "tell me, sweet ones, what would you say, if you were going to die today?"
