If I was there, I'd knock all your stacks over to hasten your purchase of some shelves.

Nice if I run into something on my set that I'm doing is outside my realm I might ask you. I'm actually working on a set of stairs at work this week... well covering them with pine to stain and seal next week.

Mortician-Hacked Up For Barbecue/Zombie Apocalypse
Mortician-House By The Cemetery/Mortal Massacre
Disma-Towards The Megalith

With Mortician, I was simply in the mood for some mindless, simplistic, brutal fun. I recently saw the movie Three On A Meathook and was reminded of these guys who I dismissed over 15(!!!) years ago as "ridiculous noise " or something to that effect. Nowadays, I can appreciate the, ahem, finer things in life.

As far as Disma, I've been on a huge DM kick and these guys get near universal praise.

LPs:
Ratt - Out of the Cellar
Ratt - Invasion of Your Privacy
Accept - Balls to the Wall

7":
Motorhead - Overkill
Black Sabbath - Neon Knights
Iron Maiden - Run to the Hills

CDs:
Black Sabbath - Volume 4
Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

All of the vinyl together came out at just under £15, which I'm pretty pleased about. Various CD's have been ordered, hopefully to arrive vaguely soon.

I don't know why you question the use of pine as if it was just an american thing since as far as I do know is the most common wood used for this entire hemisphere. It's the most common that grows all throughout North and South America.

Na i know! i really need to start collecting from the start of discography's harder! i own all of pestilence except that! but then i need alot of more classics aswell
I like the second Gorguts i dont own yet! but have been listening to for years, its weird you can "know" the undergrounds through MP3s but you only truly know it all when you own it! "take note this is a drunken and stoned rant for all drunken metal heads alike! :)

I miss the old days when you couldn't even know the underground through mp3s. Also ebaying was a lot more fun when less people were using it, I picked up all my old pestilence, Gorguts (first 2), Athiest, Cynic, Grave, Dismember for less than ten bucks each. i've been using it much less in the last couple of years, I can buy most of what I want for brand new when it's released. It's only occassionally I can find a random good deal on some stuff. like those bloodlet albums, and I'm not the biggest fan of them but for a few dollars apiece it was worth it to me. and the drowningman & Holy Mountain 7in I got. already have the material on cd releases but for a buck a piece I don't mind getting them a second time cause I enjoy them enough.

In a way i wish i wasnt from the Mp3 period and in a way im thankful i am from that period im 24 at the moment ( Hails! to you awesome older metal heads who have lived what we dream) but my point is i guess im happy to be able to be told that "warning" is the best doom band ever and finding the music withing ten minutes

EDIT : i hope that makes sense im wasted (im cranking Hypocrisy " the fourth dimension!" so heavy and melodic

Okay I think I'm done for purchases today unless something really awesome pops up I need to get immediately...haha

ABRAXAS- Damnation
ABNORMALITY- Contaminating The Hive Mind
BLOOD RED THRONE- Brutalitarian Regime
OMNIHILITY- Biogenesis

I liked it back when i read reviews and looked through the albums I got and going through thanklists and looking at band member's shirts to see who they dug and going and trying to find them and blindly buying them without hearing them.

like the only reason I searched out Athiest was cause Mike Smith was wearing an Athiest shirt in Effigy of the Forgotten so I went and found Piece of Time and was thankful I did.

Nowadays yea it's helpful and nice since I don't have as much time to devote to searching how I used to and that there isn't many print mags or review sites I actually enjoy reading...and most thanklists and such are usually tons of bands I already knew of to begin with.

Yes, the old times... Many xeroxed zines came with sampler tapes where you could get a hint of lots of bands. And tape-trading, that was the piracy of the time, allowed to get to know some great bands also, as did getting in touch with real people and lending and trading stuff. Also, the SNR at the time was a lot higher than nowadays.

I know. I really want to dig out my old mags cause I saved them all. there is one band in particular I'm looking for and the first couple of times I skimmed through it I didn't catch what it was... but I remember reading about some techincal death metal band and they were saying on their first album or demo or whatever the bonus track was actually them learning and playing all the songs on the album backwards note for note and I remember them saying they were glad they did it but they will never do anything like that again.

No idea who it was. I'd just have to re-read everything since it was an interview.

and with tape trading.. well I did cd-r trading but everything I got I bought usually within a couple of months. esp since alot of those cd-rs that I got were cheap and the silver would actually flake off which I found kinda hilarious. also I couldn't fully connect with the music if it was just a cd I like having the entire package to thumb through or look at while listening otherwise it honestly just kinda disapates and I never think of it again.

Actually most of those are more fun to read/see nowadays than I remember at the time, for instance from the portuguese mag Trauma that I had just at hand:
