they don't interest me either. I'm not sure what they are trying to prove, they must really want the money.

I always wandered: Why do Death Metal fans tend to also like Slayer? I know that Slayer's Reign In Blood is one of the many influential Metal albums to inspire the Death Metal genre, but why do some Death Metal fans happen to also be a fan of Slayer? If you want, you can send me your answer via message. That would be cool.

True story, I like Melechesh, Running Wild, Blood Stain Child, and Timeless Miracle. All at the same time. Most death metal fans like Slayer for the same reasons thrash fans, trad fans, and anybody else likes Slayer. They're just plain awesome.

Correction, maybe turtles are my religion...

I mean, were you honestly expecting it to be something other than a particularly large specimen of an everyday marine-dwelling species?

I've been under some stress lately, my mind just wanders sometimes and I had hoped something cool would happen.

I even met a yuppie in Laguna Beach with a Show No Mercy T-shirt. I think I scared his wife when I yelled "slaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeer" at him.

There was a time a few years ago where clothing shops for young teenage girls would be selling "vintage" t-shirts with Motörhead, Slayer, Iron Maiden etc emblazoned all over them. Because they looked... cool? It used to upset me (slightly).

Also, when I was contracting back in the late nineties, there was an electrician on the same site with Deicide written in texta (sharpie for you yanks) on the back his hard-hat. We met him (my best mate and I) at the pub after work, and asked him about it and he was like "yeah I love Deicide!", so we began growling out the lyrics to Lunatic of God's Creation, and he left hurriedly shortly after, in a seemingly embarrassed state. I don't think he was as big a fan as he said. Bloody tourist.

Is it just me, or is The Who's Tommy like, 70% boring filler?
Back when I first heard the title of that album I had hoped it was about WW2. Fucking pinball wizards.

The stuff that I've heard from The Who in general isn't great...seems more like they're a song rather than an actual album band.

Then again I think concept albums in general often stink.

The Who, and most radio rock actually, would seem better if I haven't heard it so many times.

I've acquired an obsession with Rush, recently though.

That's excellent news! What particular albums? I recently bought a ticket to see them in Seattle next month for the second time (best live band I've ever seen). I'm pissed they're not coming back to Vancouver, but oh well, Seattle is about the same distance for me. Just means I have to cross the border which is a bit of a hassle, but I'd endure much worse hardships in the name of Rush.

It's always fun to point out grammar mistakes made by native speakers, OOGBOOG. It's also cool to make fun of MFR.

Cuz there's bits on two of their best records that sound quite a bit like death metal? You pretty much answered your own quetion. I definitely get a death-y vibe from Reign in Blood and even more so on Hell Awaits. I do feel like all metalheads should find something to enjoy on those first 3 classic records.

Why do death metal fans like Slayer? Huh? Are metal fans only allowed to like one genre now? :???:

That's what I was wondering. It's pretty rare that you see someone that strictly likes death metal with absolutely no other subgenres thrown in.

Speaking of villages and idiots, a part of me wishes public humiliation sentences would enjoy a renewed vogue.

Is it just me, or does something like the stocks or the pillory seem like a far better deterrent for dim-witted petty criminals than modern jails? Somehow, if people are stupid enough, they seem to take a certain type of pride in having been in prison, as though it gives you some sort of cool points or street cred. I highly doubt anyone ever felt cool because they stood in a pillory for a week.

People also take pride in wearing their pants around their knees, even though that was a prison bitches way of saying his ass was open for business.
Just sayin you know, dumb people will take pride in anything.

The rotten vegetable throwing aspect would be appealing to say the least. I can see why they would reject such methods now with the morality issues and all, but how much would you just love to see some pervert in such a contraption getting pelted with refuse. :ah-ha:

I thought that was a way of saying "I've got an older brother whose old clothes I have to wear."

Honeycrisp apples are the perfect food for when you just feel like binging. sometimes, when i'm just sitting around i'll get this feeling that I just want to eat something! Fuck! My weight has shot up 5 pounds in the past few days, which I know is because of doing shit like binging on apples, and coffee. It's likely some water weight. I don't fucking know. I hate when my weight gets higher for no apparent reason. I eat right and stuff, don't get the wrong notions.

Farewell to Kings is my favourite at this point. There's still lots I need to sit down through. A Canadian choosing to see Rush in America rather than Canada- It's so... poetic? When is the show by the way? I may be in Seattle for a week or so in December.

All this talk about Rush gets me nostalgic. I saw Rush in D.C. a few years back. It was Rush with no opening act. Three hours of Rush... and they played "2112". Couldn't ask for a better concert.

I'm guessing we'll be at ten by the end of October. I've never actually bothered listening to Wintersun... Maybe I should sometime, as I like to find out what all the hype is about myself.
