That artwork is really great. Super weird and eerie. The samples sound alright, I kept waiting for all hell to break loose.
Either way, I loved their first one and this should be awesome as well.

Badass artwork once again. The sample was different from what I was expecting but I still enjoyed it quite a bit. Definitely interested in seeing how the new album ends up sounding. I'm sure it won't disappoint, can't wait!

Read from something they posted on facebook that its like Burning Witch meets Disembowelment. If that's true, then I might literally shit myself. And no, I didn't listen to the sample. Definitely want to wait to hear this in full. Last album was cool but I'm getting the feeling that this is might be a big step up.

Nice and disgusting, nothing below my expectations. Song was pretty decent though it's probably an excerpt of something.

Artwork is good, but not as good as the artwork from Hatred for Mankind. Samples also sound good, I'm glad they decided to add some new sounds. A second album filled with relentless hatred sounds good on paper, but I like bands who try something new with every album.

It looks amateur-ish compared with the artwork of "Hatred For Mankind" maybe because white is one of the dominant colors here.

Looks like art school notebook doodles with the random assortment of characters and objects. Fits DIS's art schoolish vibe.

It's a little disappointing in my eyes. The 15-minute intro is really excessive and there's not much variety in tempo which is one of the things which made Hatred For Mankind so riveting in my eyes. It's not a poor album by any means, but a couple of listens in it just seems like they've gone for 'atmosphere' as some kind of vague conception rather than approaching it as a thing to listen to.

Picked this up yesterday so here's my take. As disappointing as that 15 minute intro is, track 2 and 3 slay and make up for it. Haven't heard much of Hatred for Mankind, so I can't really compare the two works.

Artwork and script are actually pretty bad ass in person, compared to what I've seen on the web. Booklet has neat photos and its artwork has a completely different feel.

There are weird choices for samples throughout, that kind of detract. I am still trying to figure out if I like them and where some of the spoken word samples come from. They sound like reality based crime and nut job interviews, but with a popularly American feel if that makes any sense. Samples can either be really great or take a lot away, not really sure how I feel about these yet. In the end they could be cool. Time will tell.

Packaging is weird as well. It's an all card board slip with the center guts missing so to speak. It's alike a digipak that doesn't contain the plastic disc holder. So the disc just sits in a pocket in the back, but it still has a regular digipak spine. First one of these types of packages for me. I am sure the spine will be destroyed in a couple of years, if not months.

All and all still a neat album and good listen.

Regarding the 15 minute intro, when the album is taken as a whole 39 minute sitting, the intro is pretty freaking cool. You just need to dedicate the time to the album as a whole. I listened to the album a few times yesterday. The first being the trip home from the record store. Of course a 14 minute melancoly intro track was a bummer. Then I listened sparodically in the evening and early this morning.

Now I'm on my second complete spin of Widowmaker and must say the intro just fits. Killer album. :headbang:

Still up in the air with the psychobabble sound bites, but most are getting better as they relate to feel of the album. Except one killer talking about the killing of kids, it just sits wrong with me, maybe it's because I have kids. Don't mess with kids. :nono: Image

I bet they saved a lot by having a 12-year-old make the cover in MS Paint.

I would've been extremely happy to be drawing shit like that when I was 12 instead of blockhead people shooting each other.

Loved "Hatred for Mankind", but this is close to feeling like a sophomore slump. It's good, no doubt, but its not even close to walking in the shoes of the last album. I'll give it more time, as always, and probably end up feeling more forgiving towards it, as always, but I think they can do better. Also, I can't help but kind of snicker at the fact that it took them four years to write thirty-nine minutes of music, fourteen of which is a couple chords and random jangling sounds.

Because that's all you do when you are in a obscure Blackened Death/Doom Metal band. I'm pretty sure they also have lives outside of metal.

I do have to agree with you that Widowmaker isn't near the level that Hatred for Mankind was and still is. Widowmaker is still a good and consistent album though, and it really shines when listened in it's entirety. It's full of atmosphere, and while it doesn't hold up to the sheer brutal hatred of HFM, it does the job with a more seething kind of hatred. I don't know if it will make my top 20 in the end, but it's a good album nonetheless.

Obviously. But there are plenty of metal bands with lives outside of music that churn out quality releases in half the time.

Ofcourse, but it still doesn't make any sense. For all we know they wrote the album in one month...

I do like this album and I do like the artwork. I do like this band a lot and I love their first release.
That said, this is a disappointment. I mean, one ambient track and two songs?! Are you kidding me? I do like them, yes, they do work well all together, but please... Not even 40min of music in this day and age? This would not even make for the first part of an Esoteric album. Kenose is waaaay better (sorry but it just is) and is merely an EP. If this would be the case, I could forgive them. Again, the songs are not bad by all means. I just think first album was better both in quality and quantity.

They should have used this instead of the actual artwork for "Widowmaker"

Don't agree, that stuff is pretty mediocre and boring. Pretty typical poster artwork.

I think the album artwork is great. At least someone has the guts to release something different looking.

I like the concept of the art, but for the the execution is too childish and amateurish. I mean the long torso and legs man looks all right, as does the skeleton thing, but that snake with the stupid beak looks just awful as does the "filled in with the MS Paint Paintbucket tool head" on the penis stick holder man.

Yes. This album dragged, and it wasn't even that long. The first track went on for way too long while being so sparse, and there were maybe 5 good riffs in the whole album. I'm disappointed.
