I haven't reviewed for a while, but since you asked I'll try to pound out a short one for you within a week or so. Retardedly busy these days, but I'm always down to support M-A regulars.

Haven't made much progress on reviewing, I listened to everything I said I would review at least once or twice, sitting on them for now since I haven't been up for writing in the last few days.

MalignantThrone wrote:
@Zodi: yeah, I'll see if I can whip one up. It'll take a while, though, I've been kind of busy lately.

OK, I'll start working on it.

I Would like to see more rewiews of the french Power Metal band Nightmare, especially for their latest release "The Burden Of God", which is a killer one. This band surely deserves more international recognition and praises.

Thank for reading

What does their post-reunion stuff sound like? I have heard their first two and liked them, being more traditional heavy/power stuff, but I'm not familiar with their later stuff. Is it a lot like the early stuff, or is it more like more recent European power metal? Once I finish the stuff I am currently reviewing, I may review their first two.

Metal_Detector wrote:
Finally finished my Bound by Entrails review. It kind of takes a more rambling, less specific (and probably not as helpful) approach than Zodi took, but the opinion on the record is fairly similar. ;)

I'll also post in the review discussion thread, but I really enjoyed your review and I think you said a lot of things that I couldn't find the words to say.

Would anyone be interested in reviewing Saprogenic's sophomore album, Ichneumonid? I haven't heard it, but their first album is wonderful brutal death.

I'm going to pass on this one because I'm not really a fan of the style.

@Zodijackiyl: their recent stuff doesn't sound like their earlier stuff. Each album brings new elements and influences (both American and European) but still sounds like a Nightmare one. They basically evolved from a Dio/Stratovarius-like stuff ("Cosmovision", "Silent Room", "The Dominion Gate") to a more Thrashier sound, reminding Testament ("Genetic Disorder", "Insurrection"). The last release "The Burden Of God" adds symphonic parts.

To sum-up, they mix old-school Heavy metal and modern influences. You can take an ear on all their albums, I'm sure you'll find something for you. Thank you for considering my post ! :-)

It's pretty heavy, modern power metal. Big, grooving riffs and very charismatic Dio-esque vocals. Dunno if you'd like it much or not.

Much obliged, even just a couple paragraphs would be appreciated, I don't expect a thorough analysis in the same mold that Zodi gave us. I got a bit side-tracked myself with reviewing the new Luca Turilli album, but I'll try to get something done this coming week.

If anyone's willing to do a review on my band's new 2 song demo. Just 2 songs and 7 minutes so I don't think it would be a problem...Just looking for some comments and criticism so we can improve further. The feedback to our last demo helped us a lot. So yeah.

Can download either from here
http://foreskin.bandcamp.com/

or here
http://www.mediafire.com/?ls753dw7kpel4id

Would do a review in exchange if the guy reviewing has any band.

http://www.zergoth.com <--- In case you would rather check us out before DL. Tracks in reverb player.

I reviewed the Foreskin demo tonight because I had a bit of time and it was short.

From my last post, I still have to review:
Murustrictus - demo
Verdorben - both demos
Suffer the Silence - Good Mourning
Meshuggah - Koloss

New stuff to review:
Eric Pellegrini - Volume I
Zergoth - Psychological Defense

I'll listen to Nightmare (Fra) since it sounds like something I'd like, reviews might not be coming quickly though.

Anything I missed? These will take a while, since rushing reviews beyond a pace that I'm comfortable with would be disrespectful to the bands, but I'll try to review all of them. Black metal tends to take a bit longer to review, I think that's because one of my good friends who I have talked to about music all the time for many years isn't a black metal fan, so I am not as used to finding the words to describe it to others with minimal ambiguity and reasonable comprehensibility.

I'll give it a crack soon as I get some free time.

Same for the Zergoth album, though that'll take me longer I suspect.

We in Skewered would be very keen to read a few more reviews for the debut (self-titled) album. Currently, there's only one review for it here on the archives.

If someone with a few reviews under their belt (preferably death metal reviews) would be interested in reviewing the album, that would be great. We like to hear feedback from our listeners, other musicians and, of course, them beloved critics. Our sound is evolving (little by little), so it would be cool to know what struck a chord and what didn't. How the most recent release was presented, how it sounded, anything that stood out and so on...

The album is floating around some blogs, such as Death Metal Invasion. It's also up for streaming on our Bandcamp page:
http://skewered.bandcamp.com

Here are two samples, to see if this is something you'd enjoy reviewing or feel as if your review could shed some light.

Inside the Crematory: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0VO84HFGeg

Hello everyone,

Just posting to encourage everyone to check out Dullest Records. We already have several bands listed in the archives. There are 18 albums there, could you be a bit more specific? Perhaps request reviews for one of the three releases from your label that are on the archives? If you just want to promote it, that's fine, there's a promotional forum for that.

I'm wondering why there are so few reviews for Starkweather. I wish they have more recognition. If someone could write some review for this incredible band, that would be enjoyable.

Canis Dirus...
Could someone more adept at doing reviews than myself (which would be just about anyone),please review this bands album "A Somber Wind From A Distant Shore". TMP (Todd Paulson) has been the main force behind Uvall and Dormant, and this is his newest offering. I myself find it quite good, but lack the words to do it justice. There will be those that compare the vocals to old Burzum I'm sure, but that is not a bad thing IMHO. Thanks in advance.

Haven't been in much of a reviewing mood lately, but I did review the Zergoth album. I will slowly work on anyone requesting a review of their own band, but I probably won't end up reviewing the others, especially if they have reviews already.

I like this album from Suffer the Silence, but it's tough to review.

Hey guys, just wondering if any would like to review my former band's EP. We heard a couple of good things back then, but we never had a proper review, it'd be nice to read something about it. It has six songs and it's about 40 minutes in lenght.
Anyway, if anyone's interested reply or send me a message and I'll provide you with a download link.

Here's a sample:

Some of this stuff actually looks good. I write for the Metal Observer and Global Domination. I'll see what I can do for a number of these things.

You can check out most of my reviews at http://www.metal-archives.com/user-reviews/Pr0nogo - though some of them aren't as reflective of my current writing level, as I add them out of order at times. My latest review, chronologically, was the 10/10 for Hour of Penance's Sedition.

If anyone has a short (0-20 minutes) release, usually an EP or a demo, I can write a featured stub and it'll go up at http://www.globaldomination.se/.

I'm in the process of grabbing the albums on this page. When I give them all a listen, I'll see which ones I feel like writing about.

we ,Primal Order (NL) would really appreciate some love (or hate) from the metal archives community for our last album Genocide Meteorite Dynamite Alright, which has been self released on tape and is available from a few distro's and downloadable on the net. support the underground and stuff! http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Pr ... ght/337713
our email is primalorder2010 @ gmail.com (remove the spaces when copy pasting) but the album is also easy to find on the web -death metal invasion I think) we are so very lonely and every form of human contact will be appreciated!

Eternium is making CD booklets soon, and another CD which we've made as a "live" promo and we would like to put down some reviews in the booklets. It'd also be nice to see honest opinions no matter what the score is.

Anyone up for reviewing Synthetic Breed? This band suffers from a gigantic absence of reviews for their albums.
I'd be very interested to see what you guys have to say about this release in particular!

I would appreciate a review for my album "Premeditated". Genre is death metal. This album is for charity, so I'd appreciate any reviews and/or exposure I can get. It can be heard here:

I would appreciate a review for my album "Premeditated". Genre is death metal. This album is for charity, so I'd appreciate any reviews and/or exposure I can get. It can be heard here:

It's up to you, of course, but if you actually want someone to review your album for you, I would suggest offering at least the mp3s for the reviewer for free instead of making him buy the album or listen to streams online.
