I love The Forsaken album. One of the best black metal records to come out in a long time.

I like this one, too. I don't listen to it enough.

Deathspell Omega - Kenose

Another awesome EP from this unique band. Love it.

Nightmare - The Burden of God, off the album of the same name

I'm really digging Nightmare right now. They remind me quite a bit of modern Angel Dust, which is never a bad thing in my book.

Agalloch - In the Shadow of Our Pale Companion

I started to play Fen when I realized they weren't exactly who I wanted to listen to. That's when I remembered that it's been an inexcusably long time since I've given The Mantle a spin.

I actually stumbled across this earlier today. Very impressive. I plan on picking this up once I get some cash together.

Soilwork - Two Lives Worth of Reckoning

I should hate this just as much as any Sonic Syndicate song, but I'm acutally kinda digging this. It seems that Soilwork is one of those rare bands that actually make good "modern" metal without sounding sterile/bored/uninspired. Most of their songs are energetic and fun. And on top of that they actually sound like they were having a good time making the music.

I haven't really liked anything Soilwork did since Predator's Portrait.

If you like tech death that doesn't wank around, this might be for you. Awesome, blistering brutal tech death.

Fates Warning - Monument

Ah, so much sentimental value in this album. I haven't heard it in years, and its relaxing, emotional tones are perfectly fitting my mood right now.

Just finished: Cattle Decapitation - Monolith Of Inhumanity

First listen, and wow, that was really cool. Lots of great hooks and riffs. Insane drumming, too, even though I know there's some Protooling involved. For the first listen, I was impressed as hell. That closing track "Kingdom of Tyrants" had some great melodies, too. Damn. Yeah, this'll be getting some more spins for sure. I was reminded of Misery Index sometimes, too.

Now playing: Timeghoul - 1992-1994 Discography

I'm so glad this was released on CD. Some awesome demos from a band who could've reached some potential later on. I prefer Panaramic Twilight because it's a little more unusual but I do like the whole thing. Great compilation.

Xasthur - Prison of Mirrors. My favourite track of his, that main riff really cuts deep.
