So I just discovered the band

Elitist - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afUIzKhP ... ure=relmfu

I was wondering what other spacey death core with little technical blurbs are there. There also seems to be spiritual and psychedelic drug type themes.

I would say things like The Contortionist and Born of Osiris remind me of them.

I guess what I am looking for is technical riffs that aren't really evil, badass, nor happy but more so uplifting feeling with some djenty rhythms. I also would like the themes to still be about transcending current consciousness and whatnot. The more uplifting spacey shredding the better. The riffs and lead work is more important than the djenty rhythms.

Bands that fit what I want

Cynic (they don't have the core or djent but they have the leads I am talking about)
Elitist
The Contortionist
Born of Osiris

Might want to look into Gojira's first few releases.

Gojira doesn't really fit what I want. I see them as heavy meshuggah worship. none of their stuff sounds very "technical" to me. Just poor usage of polyrhythms and they don't have any of the uplifting shreddy riffs that I was looking for. :/

"Meshuggah worship"? If you say so.

Good luck, man.
