My first day of working in an office setting started today. Quite a change of pace but I think I will enjoy having an actual schedule and having way more money then any of my other jobs.

I need to figure my job situation out. Computer repair doesn't cut it if you don't have any customers. And Staples said they don't like to hire students for their repair guys :grumble:

Oh. It seems my small, conservative little town is having a zombie walk. How quaint, I'll go dressed as Jesus Christ.

Advertise yourself. Tell folks you'll repair computers for less than nearby businesses or employers doing the same thing. Also, the Staples where I live has students for their repair guys. They all suck though. That's weird they won't hire you for being a student.

Don't get a job at Staples working on computers, it's terrible. They don't give you proper tools (most stores don't even allow you a chair), they have horrible procedures and you'll probably be expected to sell stuff and stock shelves while you're working on computers.

Awesome! It's my third history initiation next friday, I'm a guest this time and I'm going as Zombie Julius Caesar! Also, it's my initiation for my new program the tuesday before, I'm going as Gambit since the theme is Superheroes. Looks like I'll be drunk all week, cool that my classes are wednesday and thursday.

That's pretty much what they told me(plus I have a weird schedule because of school), their staff is pretty much people who used to work in IT on base.

Terry Jones always reminded me of the Sheriff of Nottingham from the Disney Robin hood movie, he is downright terrible on Volume 1 but doesn't sound too bad when he sings on Lords of Hypocrisy. He has nowhere near the range of Shelton though, and unfortunately he kills any enjoyment on the other Pagan Altar albums. Terrible vocalist

Can anyone find a shirt for sale that just has the word METAL in big bold print on the front of it?

Also something I want to understand. Why is today's death metal or thrash "revival." They didn't call it "birth" back then when it first came out as far as I know. Everything now has to be mitigated so it doesn't sound too much like things used to or else it is "old school." I suppose progression of the genre of death metal or thrash would neither a good nor bad thing in this case. If it can...

It wasn't supposed to be a joke, I was simply stating a fact!

Thinking of starting a Sabbat vs Sabbat thread with a poll, would be interesting to see the winner!

Hard to say, both are good bands but Id think the UK Sabbat would win simply because more people know who they are. I could be wrong though (which is hardly ever the case), but go ahead and try big guy.

I think you're underestimating Japan's Sabbat's popularity here. Dwellings is mentioned a lot as a perfect album around these parts, and many albums in their discography are loved.

I actually only know the Japanese one. They are cool in small doses, but they have zero versatility, I'm pretty sure every song on Sabbatrinity is played at the same tempo. Gets freaking boring.

I'd definitely go with the UK one. History of a Time to Come and Dreamweaver are thrash classics of the highest order, and Martin Walkyier was like no other behind the mike. Incredible lyricism, too.

I have a lot of trouble with Sabbat vs. Sabbat. I suppose if pressed I would probably pick the UK one just because I love Dreamweaver more than anything I have heard from the Japanese band.

Well, the vote is there! With a duration of 14 days, if it's too much, I can change it. Would be cool to do that on a regular basis. I should do one for the favorite flavor of ice cream, ORTAB would be interested...

I think it's a great idea. Hopefully the turnout is significant, as this could be quite the contest.

Not that I'm defending Veracs (I'm actually in your camp regarding Terry Jones), but you do get that Terry's tone isn't really for everyone, right Empyreal? Same applies to Mark Shelton, I'd say.

Well, he stated his opinion and I stated mine, that's all there was to it. :p Frankly I just don't see how you'd really call either of 'em bad vocalists. But Veracs does and so I disagree. Just the way the forum goes.

I've got one of the songs practiced by the second daughter stuck in my head, and I should do productive work. The only solution I have is to blast some DM to cleanse my mind, and Black Seeds of Vengeance seems to work nicely. Next, Demilich, then maybe Dismemberment or Nadja.

The song is not pornographic, but the composer's certain other works are, and it's the mental connection that bugs me. Well, OK, the song itselves is über-nostalgic sentimental grampa Simpson equivalent Finnish waltz, and that's enough for me to loathe it playing in my cranium... But damn, DM works wonders!

http://www.feastofhateandfear.com/archives.html Found this site digging through Reverend Bizarre's Hellride Music forum. Interesting stuff. I'm reading Kill Without Joy now. I don't know how legitimate any of it is but regardless I feel all assassin-y.

I'm so old that I can't really afford to listen to songs with lyrics about death. Sorry.

Hehe, the copy of Napalm Death's Utopia Banished I ordered from discogs for £2.80 (including shipping) a few days ago just turned up. Turns out it's signed by Shane Embury, Barney, Mitch Harris and Jesse Pintado... funny that the seller neglected to mention this and sold the CD for a bargain price.

I'm not really an autograph hunter but the Jesse Pintado autograph is interesting. Mainly, since his signature is hard to come by these days.

This might be of interest, although not worth its own thread, Pat Benetar and Avril Lavigne:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ohbd5xtued0&feature=related
the music was fine, but Avril's outfit is ridiculous, especially for that song. She looks like she should be singing metal or extreme punk. I bet her manager dresses her or something.

That's one hell of a lucky score, Acrobat. Maybe the seller was ignorant of the significance of the signatures. Kinda like that scenario in the Simpsons where Martin's mum offers to sell his priceless Star Wars memorabilia for 5 bucks.

Actually yes it is. Heavily atmospheric, but rather simply composed, with some horrendous (in a good way) from the pit vocals. It's a minor classic really, but knowing you I'm not sure you'll like it too much. But give it a shot...

Senmuth's going a little off the deep end with the math-metal djent riffing. Kinda miss the chunky industrial metal riffs of old.

The guy releases, what, 20 albums a year? I think going off the deep end is kinda expected at this point. The djent is just a side-effect.
